An Unrecognized Foreign Body Retained in the Calcaneus: A Case Report

We describe a case of an unrecognized foreign body retained in the calcaneus. The patient denied any history of trauma. The skin overlying the calcaneus was intact with no local signs of inflammation. The retained foreign body was not observed on the radiograph of the calcaneus. Magnetic Resonance Imaging showed a tubular low signal intensity lesion in the calcaneal body, surrounded by strongly enhanced soft tissue and bone marrow edema caused by a foreign body reaction. A foreign body retained in the calcaneus was suspected on the basis of these findings. Surgical exploration and curettage was performed, and a rod shaped wooden fragment was found.

This study aims to present a direction for the efficient TV commercial marketing strategy at the market by analyzing the relationship between technology and the smart-phones’ TV commercial especially ‘iPhone series’ and ‘galaxy S series’. As the results of the factor analysis of the hardwares, slogans and TV commercial for the target smart-phones, TV commercial is the way of the expression for the technology through the meaning of the value. And the meaning of value is defined by reclassifying the expression technique of each scene of TV commercial into nouns and adjectives. Setting a slogan is very important because it is making memorable motto or phrase for the consumer and it decide the image of the product. So the correct configuration of the slogan is a keystone that is important for creating a TV commercial and has a profound impact on product image formation.
배지 중 Manganese sulfate 농도가 Bacillus thuringiensis의 곤충독소 생성 시간에 미치는 영향

In this study, the effect of MnSO4 on the insecticidal crystal (IC) produced by Bacillus thuringiensis for a rapid detection medium was analyzed. The strains used included one B. thuringiensis reference (KCTC 1511) and nine wild-type strains. The IC in B. thuringiensis was detected following the method published by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in Korea. In the nutrient agar to which 0.005% MnSO4 was added, IC was observed on two of the three plates after 48 hours of incubation and on all three plates after 120 hours. In AK agar, IC was observed on one and two of the three plates after 48 and 96 hours of incubation, respectively. These results indicated that 0.005% MnSO4 nutrient agar is more appropriate than AK agar for production of IC in B. thuringiensis. The effect of various MnSO4 concentrations on IC production was studied after 24 hours of incubation. IC was produced on 1 of the 10 plates with 0.000% MnSO4 nutrient agar, 2 of the 10 plates with 0.001% MnSO4 nutrient agar, and 3 of the 10 plates with 0.002% MnSO4 nutrient agar. IC was not observed for the other nutrient agars containing 0.003%–0.009% MnSO4. These results indicated that nutrient agar with 0.002% MnSO4 led to the most rapid production of IC by B. thuringiensis after 24 hours of incubation. However, the conditions for IC production by B. thuringiensis depended on the incubation conditions and strain activity. Therefore, further studies are needed to verify the effects of 0.002% MnSO4 on the production of IC by various Bacillus thuringiensis strains.
이기종 엣지 기반 차량 네트워크에서의 비디오 스트리밍 최적화 연구

스케줄링과 스트리밍 알고리즘은 V2I 네트워크 연결 차량에 멀티미디어가 사용되기 위하여 필요한 핵심 기술로 주목받고 있다. 본 논문은 최적의 스케줄링 및 스트리밍 알고리즘을 제안하기 위해 주행하고 있는 차량이 주변 엣지로 필요한 데이터를 요구하는 시나리오를 가정한다. 차량의 요구에 가장 잘 상응할 수 있는 엣지를 차량과 연결시켜주고, 영상이 차량으로 전송될 때 스트리밍 품질과 지연 시간 사이의 최적의 트레이드오프를 만족하기 위하여 적절한 알고리즘이 필요하다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안된 알고리즘은 컴퓨팅 능력, 채널 상태, 차량이 요구하는 데이터의 양을 고려하여 스케줄링 되어, 스트리밍 품질과 대기 허용 시간의 측면에서 우수한 성능을 보인다는 것을 확인하였다.

Purpose: To report the resolution of a massive suprachoroidal hemorrhage after penetrating keratoplasty by sclerotomy. Case summary: A 64-year-old man with a corneal opacity in the left eye underwent penetrating keratoplasty. On the first postoperative day, a massive suprachoroidal hemorrhage was detected. After two surgical drainage procedures, the suprachoroidal hemorrhage subsided and the graft survived. His visual acuity was 20/240 two months post-operation. Conclusions: We report a patient with massive suprachoroidal hemorrhage after penetrating keratoplasty that was improved by surgical drainage procedures. J Korean Ophthalmol Soc 2017;58(9):1106-1109

정보 자산에 대한 사이버 위협이 증가하면서 위협과 관련된 정보들을 빠르게 공유하는 것이 무엇보다 중요해졌다. 본 연구에서는 국내외 사이버 위협 정보의 공유 현황을 살펴보고 시장에서 공유되고 있는 위협 지표별 우선순위를 도출하여 위협 지표의 중요도를 평가하였다. 분석은 AHP 기법을 활용하였으며, 공격자 및 감염자 지표, 역할 지표, 악성 파일 지표, 기법 및 전파 지표의 네 가지 평가기준과 해당 기준별 세부항목에 대한 쌍대비교를 통해 이루어졌다. 분석 결과 상위 평가 기준 사이에서는 악성 파일 지표가 가장 중요한 것으로 확인되었으며, 각 기준별 세부 항목간 비교에 있어서는 공격자 및 감염자 지표의 경우 감염자 IP가, 역할 지표의 경우 C&C 정보가, 악성 파일 지표의 경우 악성코드 지표가, 기법 및 전파 지표의 경우 스미싱 관련 지표가 보다 중요한 요소로 확인되었다. 이와 같은 결과는 위협 정보에 대한 소비자의 선호도와 정보 제공자의 기여도를 판단하는 자료로서 정보 공유 활성화에 도움이 될 수 있을 것이다. With the growing cyber threat to information assets, it has become important to share threat information quickly. This paper examines the sharing of cyber threat information and presents a method to determine the importance of threat indicators in the information sharing market by calculating weights. The analysis was conducted using AHP techniques, with a pairwise comparison of the four factors(attacker & infected system indicators, role indicators, malicious file indicators, technique & spread indicators) and the details of each factor. Analysis shows that malicious file indicators are the most important among the higher evaluation factors and infected system IP, C&C and Smishing are the most important factors in comparison between detailed items. These findings could be used to measure the preference of consumers and the contribution of information provider for facilitating information sharing.
초내식성 주철의 경도 및 부식 특성에 미치는 열처리의 영향

In fossil-fuel-fired power plants, a variety of pollutants are produced from the combustion of conventional fuels such as coal, oil and gas. Major component of such pollution are ash and corrosive chemicals, which also destroy pumps and piping; by causing erosion/corrosion, pitting, and wear. In order to over come such damage, materials with high hardness and high corrosion resistance are needed. In this work, we melted super-cast-iron with excellent corrosion resistance and high hardness. To elucidate the effect of heat treatment, microstructural analysis, hardness measurement, and corrosion tests were performed. Test results revealed that the super-cast-iron had several tens better corrosion resistance than 316 L stainless steel, and it also had a high surface hardness (> HRC45). High hardness, in spite of its low carbon content (0.74%C), could resulted from a hardening heat treatment to precipitate sufficient Cr7C3 and Cr23C6. Also, it was concluded that the excellent corrosion resistance of the super-cast-iron was due to the increase of the relative chromium content by minimizing the carbon content, and by the enhancement of passive film by the addition of Cr, Mo, Cu, and W. †(Received August 22, 2013)
