Korean government plans to establish large-scale horticulture facility complexes using reclaimed land in order to improve the national competitiveness of agriculture at the government level. One of the most significant problems arising from the establishment of those large-scale horticulture facilities is that these facilities still largely depend on a fossil fuel and they require 24 h a day heating during the winter season in order to provide the necessary breeding conditions for greenhouse crops. These facilities show large energy consumption due to the use of coverings with large heat transmission coefficients such as vinyl and glass during heating in the winter season. This study investigated the applicability of waste heat from power plant for large-scale horticulture facilities by evaluating the waste heat water temperature, heat loss and energy saving performance as a function of distance between power plant and greenhouse. As a result, utilizing power plant waste heat can reduce the energy consumption by around 85% compared to the conventional gas boiler, regardless of the distance between power plant and greenhouse.
다집단 확인적 요인분석을 이용한 기질 및 성격 검사(TCI)의 구인동등성 분석 및 잠재평균분석

본 연구는 한국판 기질 및 성격 검사(Temperament and Character Inventory: TCI) 청소년용 검사의 구인동등성을 검증하여 남학생과 여학생, 과학영재와 일반학생의 기질과 성격특성 비교연구에 있어 공통적으로 사용될 수 있는가를 알아보고 잠재평균분석을 통하여 잠재평균 차이를 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구대상은 총 574명으로 2010년 과학고등학교 학생 212명과 일반고등학교 학생 362명을 대상으로 하였으며, 이 중 남학생은 345명, 여학생은 229명이었다. 연구결과, TCI의 기질척도와 성격척도의 형태동일성, 부분측정동일성이 검증되었으며, 성별에 따른 성격척도는 측정동일성이 검증되었다. 이러한 연구결과는 한국판 TCI 청소년용 검사의 구인타당도의 근거자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다. 잠재평균분석결과, 남학생은 여학생보다 자극추구, 사회적 민감성, 자기 초월이 낮게 나타났으며, 과학영재는 일반학생보다 자극추구, 위험회피는 낮고 자율성은 높게 나타났다. The purpose of this study is to investigate measurement equivalence of the Junior Temperament and Character Inventory (TCI)-Korean Version using multi group confirmatory factor analysis and to compare the latent means between male and female, between science gifted high school students and general high school students. TCI operates with seven dimensions of personality traits: four temperaments and three characters. Data included 212 gifted high school students and 362 general high school students, and the male was 345, female was 229. Given the partial metric invariance was hold, the current study supported the construct validity of the junior TCI-Korean Version. Next, latent means analysis is performed to test latent mean differences on temperament and character construct between the groups. Based on the results of latent means analysis, male show statistically lower mean in Novelty Seeking(NS), Reward Dependence(RD), and Self-Transcendence(ST) than female. And science gifted students show statistically lower mean NS and Harm Avoidance(HA) than general students. However, science gifted high school students show significantly higher mean in Self-Directedness(SD), of character.

In the course of developing novel antioxidants, we synthesized four of 6-hydroxy-7-methoxy-4-oxochroman-2carboxylic acid dialkylamides (3a-d) $(13{\sim}18%)$ and four of 6-hydroxy-7-methoxychroman-2-carboxylic acid dialkylamides (4a-d) $(52{\sim}89%)$, incorporating the basic amine functionality. None of these compounds exhibited significant antioxidant activity possibly due to the hydrophilic character of the basic amine side chains.
