남산, 오대산, 울릉도 지역의 주요 참나무과 산림식생에 대한 군락구조 비교

한반도의 산림식생은 낙엽참나무림으로 우점되는 대륙형의 한반도형으로 특징지어진다. 따라서 본 연구는 참나무과 산림식생이 우점하는 남산, 오대산, 울릉도 지역을 대상으로 이질적인 생태 특성에 따른 종조성과 환경인자의 상관관계를 비교하였다. 식생조사는 2018년 5월부터 8월까지 수행하였으며 총 75개소의 조사를 실시하였다. 식생유형분류결과 총7개 유형으로 구분되었으며, 최상위 수준에서는 내륙지역의 대표식생군락인 신갈나무군락과 도서지역의 대표식생군락인너도밤나무군락으로 구분되었다. 신갈나무군락은 도시의 대표식생인 팥배나무군과 산악지역의 대표식생인 피나무군으로세분되었다. 지역형에 따른 천이경향을 살펴보고자 중요치와 지표종 분석을 시행한 결과, 도시형과 도서형은 참나무군락으로 유지되며, 산악형의 경우 피나무 및 까치박달 등 활엽수종의 천이가 이루어질 것으로 판단되었다. 식생유형과 입지환경인자와의 CCA 분석결과, 동위도 상에서 종조성의 영향을 미치는 가장 큰 요인은 해발고도로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해 한반도의 산림생태계 특성을 이해하고 이에 따른 체계적인 보전 및 복원 계획 수립 시 필요한 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다. The forest vegetation of the Korean Peninsula is dominated by deciduous Fagaceae forests. The study aimed to comparethe correlation between species composition and environmental factors in Namsan, Odaesan, and Ulleungdo. A vegetation survey of 75 sites was conducted from May to August 2018. Seven vegetation types were classified. The inland representative vegetation was classified as a Quercus mongolica community, and the island representative vegetation was classified as a Fagus multinervis community. The Quercus mongolica community was subdivided into the Aria alnifolia group, representative of cities, and the Tilia amurensis group, representative of mountainous regions. Analysis of important values and indicator species to examine the succession trends according to regional types showed that urban and island forestswere maintained as Fagaceae communities, and that mountainous region foreststransitioned to broadleaf species, such as Tilia amurensis and Carpinus cordata. A CCA analysis of vegetation type and site environmental factors showed that altitude had the biggest effect on species composition at the same latitude. The study results should contribute to a better understanding of the Korean Peninsula forest ecosystem characteristics and provide basic data for establishing a systematic conservation and restoration plan.

ABS/silicate composites with different clay types and compositions were prepared by in situ emulsion polymerization. The chemical structure of ABS was confirmed by the change of C-H stretching peak(near 3000 cm-1) in fourier transform-infrared(FT-IR) spectrum. The thermal properties of the ABS/silicate composites were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) and thermogravimetric analyzer(TGA). There was no distinct change in glass transition temperature of the ABS/silicate composites with different clay types. TGA curve indicates a dramatic increase in degradation temperature in case of ABS/20A composite with 3 wt% 20A. The silicate dispersion in the composites was measured by X-ray diffraction(XRD). The silicate dispersion in ABS/20A composites depended on the 20A composition. XRD results showed that the diffraction peak of the ABS/20A composite appeared when the content of 20A was higher than 5 wt%.
옥시페탈룸에서 발생한 토마토반점위조바이러스 국내 첫 보고

Oxypetalum coeruleum, commonly known as Tweedia, is a perennial herbaceous plant of the Apocynaceae family native to southern Brazil and Uruguay. Tweedia plants are grown as one of the most popular ornamental flowers for floral arrangement in Korea. In May 2021, several tweedia plants in a single greenhouse in Gimje, Jeollabuk-do were found to show virus-like symptoms including necrotic rings, vein-clearing, chlorotic mottle, and mosaic on the leaves, and necrosis on the stems. Here, we have identified tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV) in symptomatic tweedia leaves by applying high-throughput RNA sequencing. In the result, a single infection by TSWV was verified without mixed infections of different virus species. To confirm the presence of TSWV, a reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction was performed with a specific primer set to the N gene of TSWV. The complete genomic sequence of L, M, and S segments of TSWV ’Oxy’ isolate were determined and deposited in GenBank under accession numbers LC671525, LC671638, and LC671639, respectively. In the phylogenetic tree analysis by maximum likelihood method, ’Oxy’ isolate showed a high relationship with TSWV ’Gumi’ isolate from Gerbera jamesonii in Gyeongsangbuk-do, Korea; for all three RNA segments. To our knowledge, this is the first report of TSWV infection of O. coeruleum in Korea.
가습기살균제 환경노출 판정등급에 따른 개인 노출 특성 분포 - 4-1차와 4-2차 신청자를 중심으로

Objective: This study was performed to investigate the distribution of individual exposure characteristics according to an exposure assessment classification for humidifier disinfectant and to identify the factors that influence assessment classification. Methods: We examined the exposure characteristics of 4,482 subjects who applied for the 4-1 and 4-2 assessments of environmental exposure to humidifier disinfectant conducted by the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute (KEITI). Environmental exposure assessment classification was assessed using the following seven criteria: 1) Distance from humidifier to face; 2) Spray direction; 3) Time used, daytime 4) Time used, during sleep; 5) Time used, cumulative; 6) Exposure intensity; and 7) Cumulative exposure level. Each criteria was then classified as ‘high’ or low’. When participants answered for more than four criteria, exposure assessment was determined as ‘definite,’ ‘probable,’ or ‘possible’ depending on the ratio of ‘high’ responses. If participants’ responses were inconsistent, exposure assessment was listed as ‘unlikely.’ If participants answered for less than four criteria, exposure assessment was considered ‘indeterminate.’ Results: For the exposure assessment classes, definite was assigned to 38.5% (1,725 subjects), probable assigned to 32.9% (1,474 subjects), 25.0% (1,122 subjects) were assigned to as possible, unlikely assigned to 0.1% (3 subjects), and indeterminate assigned to 3.5% (158 subjects). Overall, participants who used ‘Oxy Ssakssak New Gaseupgi Dangbun,’ ‘Aekyung Gaseupgi Mate,’ ‘Homeplus Gaseupgi Chungjungje,’ and ‘E-Mart Gaseupgi Salgyunje’ totaled 2,996, 557, 176, and 162 subjects, respectively. There was a statistical difference in the type of humidifier disinfectant products between high-exposed and low-exposed participants. Based on the assessment criteria of humidifier disinfectant exposure, subjects were likely to be in the highly exposed classes (definite and probable) when the subjects were exposed 1) for more than ten hours per day and 2) for more than four hours at night 3) when the total cumulative exposure time was higher than the average, 4) when the direction of humidifier spray was toward the face, 5) when the respiratory position was less than 1 meter of distance from the humidifier, 6) when the concentration of indoor contaminants (ug/m3) was higher than the average exposure intensity, and 7) when overall exposure level (ug/m3*hr) was higher than the average exposure level. Conclusion: This study suggests that each exposure assessment criteria was able to appropriately estimate cumulative exposure levels.

Mucormycosis is a rare, life-threatening fungal disease caused by Mucorales. We report a case of rhinocerebral mucormycosis in a poorly controlled diabetic patient. Despite seven admissions and surgical treatments, the disease had recurred several times, and there was suspected necrotic tissue in the frontal sinus. Finally, we treated this patient appropriately with extensive surgical debridement-endoscopic sinus surgery and craniotomy. Since mucormycosis frequently recurs, especially in people with diabetes, as in this case, more aggressive surgical treatments and antifungal agents should be used in the early stages.
