VRLA(Valve regulated lead acid) batteries which were improved form typical flooded type, have been common in relative batteries industry. VRLA batteries are an enabling technology for a variety industries, particularly telecommunication, information technology, portable device, electric vehicle, a power generation system and etc. VRLA batteries have two type as AGM and gel. The gel type VRLA battery technology is not common in the interior of a country. On the technology of gel type VRLA batteries manufacture, we had a study about the characteristic of gel electrolyte and the effect of gel electrolyte when applied to the batteries as function of silica wt%. The gel electrolyte which is mixture of silica, water, diluted sulfuric acid and etc. The gravity of used diluted sulfuric acid is 1.265g/㎖ at 25℃ and silica is pyrogenic silica. Three kind of gel electrolyte were made and each of them contains 5wt%, 7wt% and 8wt% silica. The gravity, pH, viscosity and gelling time of the gel electrolyte were tested and applied to batteries. The batteries have been cycle-life test under the DOD100% with the C_5/5 at 25℃. The cycle-life tests of these batteries are going on.

This paper presents the results of the development of VRLA(valve regulated lead acid) battery over 1000 cycles at D.O.D(depth of discharge) 50% suitable for photovoltaic power generation system. This battery was made of gel electrolyte and tubular positive plates. The cycle-life test was carried out for 1450 cycles at D.O.D 50% with 3H.R.(hour rate) and 1150 cycles at D.O,D 100% with 5 H.R. As we expected, we could get cycle-life over 1300 at D.O.D 100% in lab test. However, the positive active mass of a tubular-type gelled lead acid cell was changed morphologically to a great extent during the deep discharge-charge cycles. In order to reduce these changes, the effect of filling density on the active mass has been also studied. When suitable filling density is applied to a positive plate, filling density of the positive active mass was suppressed and the structural changes became smaller. The cycle-life of the positive plate increased remarkably by suitable filling density due to suppression of the decrease in cohesion and improvement of the electrochemical reaction between PbO₂ particles. The total water loss for gel battery was found to be depended on charging condition, space, and filling density.

In the present study, impedance characteristics for AgO-Zn cell at various State-of-Charge (SoC) has been studied. The impedance measurements of AgO-Zn cell at various SoC were made over the frequency range from 100kHz to 10mHz with an amplitude 5mV. The impedance parameters have been evaluated by the analysis of the data using an equivalent circuit and a Non-linear least squares (NLLS) fitting method. The total resistances reflects the SoC of the cell. This indicates that the total resistance is important parameter for predicting SoC of AgO-Zn cell.
RF 마그네트론 스퍼터링법으로 제작한 이산화티타늄 박막의 표면 및 광학적 특성

Titanium dioxide (TiO2) films were deposited on glass substrates by using RF magnetron sputtering, and their optical and surface properties were investigated according to the sputtering process condition. Variations in the crystal structure, surface morphology, optical spectra, and hydrophilicity of the films were characterized with changing O2 partial pressure in an ambient gas. The grown films were amorphous, and their surface roughness decreased with increasing of O2 partial pressure. Partial substitution of O2 for Ar increased the optical transmittance and decreased the reflection in the wavelength range of visible light. The hydrophilicity of the film’s surface decreased with increasing O2 partial pressure, which was considered to be the cause of the variation in the film’s surface roughness. RF 마그네트론 스퍼터링법을 사용하여 이산화티타늄(TiO2) 박막을 유리 기판 위에 증착하고, 스퍼터링공정 조건에 따른 박막의 광학적 특성 및 표면 특성의 변화에 대하여 조사하였다. 박막 증착 시 분위기가스 중의 산소 분압의 변화에 따라 박막의 결정 구조, 표면 형상, 광학 스펙트럼 및 친수성의 변화를평가하였다. 박막의 결정구조는 비정질 상으로 성장하였고 산소 분압의 증가에 따라 박막의 표면 거칠기는감소하였다. 아르곤 가스에 산소를 혼합함에 따라 가시광의 파장 범위에서 광투과율이 증가하고 반사율은감소하였다. 박막 표면의 물방울과의 접촉각 측정 결과, 산소 분압의 증가에 따라 박막 표면의 친수성은감소하였으며 이는 박막의 표면 거칠기의 변화에 기인하는 것으로 추정된다.
복합센서와 공조기반에서 지능형 실내공기질 관리 시스템 개발

본 논문은 공기청정기에 복합센서 및 지능형 시스템을 장착하여 실내 공기 질(IAQ; Indoor Air Quality) 이용자의 건강뿐만 아니라 건물이 목적한 공기 질을 개선하고자 한다. 실내에서는 온도와 습도, 적절한 환기가 실 내 오염에 영향을 미치는 거대 요소이며, 이들은 공기 질 관리에 상당한 역할을 한다. 실내 공기 질은 이용자의 건강뿐만 아니라 건물이 목적한 그들의 성과에도 상당한 영향을 끼치므로, 건물의 성격에 구분하여 실내 공기 질 관리 지침을 두고 관리가 되도록 한다. 이러한 실내 공기 질 관리를 통해 건강과 환경 가치를 높여 건강 취약계 층, 지역사회, 시민들의 생활환경 개선 및 건강한 환경 가치를 높이는 효과를 발생시킨다. 이들 기술은 빅데이터, 인공지능, 센서집적 고도화로 신종 센서 개발 및 융・복합 환경을 통합센서로 집적하여 지능형 환경재해 매체개발 을 통한 새로운 비즈니스 모델을 창출한다. This paper aims to improve the indoor air quality (IAQ) users' health as well as the air quality for the purpose of the building by installing a complex sensor and intelligent system in the air purifier. Indoors, temperature, humidity, and adequate ventilation are major factors affecting indoor pollution, and they play a significant role in air quality management. Indoor air quality significantly affects not only the health of users but also their performance for the purpose of the building. Through such indoor air quality management, health and environmental values are increased, thereby improving the living environment of the health-vulnerable class, local communities, and citizens and raising the value of a healthy environment. These technologies create new business models through the development of intelligent environmental disaster media by developing new sensors and integrating convergence/complex environments into integrated sensors through the advancement of big data, artificial intelligence, and sensor integration.
A Case of Ectopic Lingual Thyroid with Situs Inversus Totalis

Situs inversus totalis (SIT) is a rare congenital condition in which the viscera are transposed as a mirror of normal physiologic arrangement. We describe a rare case of lingual thyroid associated with SIT. A 64-year-old female who was diagnosed with SIT, visited our clinic due to pharyngeal foreign body sensation. Physical examination revealed a 2.5× 2.5×2.0 cm sized, pinkish, round mass in the base of the tongue. Computed tomography suggested the diagnosis of lingual thyroid. She has been on regular follow up with levothyroxine therapy. To our best knowledge, this is the first case of lingual thyroid (LT) associated with SIT. The literature is reviewed and clinical features about LT and SIT are presented.
