This paper presents the design and evaluation of the optical system for an uncooled thermal-imaging camera. The operatingwavelength range of this system is from 7.7 μm to 12.8 μm. Through optimization, we have obtained a LWIR (Long WaveInfrared) optical system with a focal length of 5.44 mm, which consists of four aspheric surfaces and two diffractive surfaces. The f-number of the optical system is F/1.2, and its field of view is 90° × 67.5°. The hybrid lens was used to balance thehigher-order aberrations, and its diffraction properties were evaluated by scalar diffraction theory. We calculated the polychromaticintegrated diffraction efficiency, and the MTF drop generated by background noise. We have evaluated the thermal compensationof a LWIR fixed optical system, which is optically passively athermalized to maintain MTF performance in the focal depth. Inconclusion, these design results are useful for an uncooled thermal-imaging camera.
Design and Analysis of a 10× Optical Zoom System for an LWIR Camera

This paper presents the design and evaluation of the optical zoom system for an LWIR camera. The operating wavelength range of this system is from 7.7 μm to 12.8 μm. Through a paraxial design and optimization process, we have obtained the extended four-group inner-focus zoom system with focal lengths of 10 to 100 mm, which consists of the six lenses including four aspheric surfaces and two diffractive surfaces. The diffractive lenses were used to balance the higher-order aberrations, and its diffraction properties were evaluated by scalar diffraction theory. We have calculated the polychromatic integrated diffraction efficiency and the MTF drop generated by background noise. The f-number of the zoom system is F/1.4 at all positions. Fields of view are given by 51.28°×38.46° at wide field and 5.50°×4.12° at narrow field positions. In conclusion, this design procedure results in a 10× compact zoom lens system useful for an LWIR camera.

The present paper sums up the excavation research of Jungbal relics in Eoryang-ri, Iksan which were unearthed during construction of an access road to Iksan General Industrial Complex. The relics were found on the top and western slope of the two hills stretching westward in Jungbal village, Eoryang-ri, Mangseong-myeon, Iksan city. Jungbal relics were excavated at the site where remains of lots of the Bronze Age settlements came into view together with 14 dwelling places, 10 pit remains and 2 jar-coffin tombs. Besides, pit-type abodes of the Proto-Three-Kingdom period, residential areas of Koryo and Chosun Kingdom period were also unveiled at the same site. Excavation investigation was performed in two sections: 'A' and 'B' which were separated from each other by about 200m in the direction from north to south. The settlements of the Bronze Age were gathered in cluster atop the hills or along the middle of the ridge, grouped in 2~5. Pit remains were found close to the south of the dwelling places. The residential areas of the Bronze Age unearthed in 'A' section were arranged in a single line with distance of about 5~10m from each other. Among the remains of the Bronze Age settlements found in 'B' section, those located on the summit of the hill were grouped in 2~3 in cluster format in the direction from east to west, while those unearthed on the middle of the ridge had circular and square forms overlapped. The circular form of settlements was found to be dominant compared to the square one. Lots of relics presumed to belong to the middle Bronze Age such as patternless earthenware·red dagger·stone arrowhead with single column·stone axe·ring-formed stone axe·triangle stone dagger· dolmen of various forms were found inside of the remains of settlements and pits. Since Jungbal relics showed that residential areas and pits coexisted as a residential-centered type of village, they seemed to be a nice base for studies on culture of the Geumgang river basin during the Bronze Age. The present excavation investigation could help us conclude that the area in Mangseong- myeon, Iksan city near Geumgang River was one of the main dwelling sites during the Bronze Age. 본고는 익산 일반산업단지 진입도로 개설공사 내 유적인 익산 어량리 중발유적에 대한 조사개요이다. 유적은 익산시 망성면 어량리 중발마을에서 서쪽으로 뻗어 내린 2개의 구릉 정상 및 사면에 해당된다. 중발유적은 청동기시대 주거지·수혈유구가 다수 확인된 청동기시대 취락유적으로 주거지 14기·수혈유구 l0기·옹관묘 2기 등이 조사되었다. 이외에 원삼국시대 수혈유구, 고려~조선시대 주거지와 수혈유구·토광묘 등이 조사되었다. 발굴조사는 ‘가’구역과 ‘나’구역으로 구분하여 조사하였으며, 두 구역 간에는 남-북으로 약 200m 정도 이격되어 있다. 청동기시대 주거지는 구릉 정상부 및 능선 중간부분에 2~5기씩 군집을 이뤄서 분포하고 있으며, 수혈유구는 주거지 남쪽에 인접해서 위치하고 있다. ‘가’구역에서 확인된 청동기시대 주거지는 5~10m 정도 거리를 두고 1열로 배치되어 있다. ‘나’구역에서 확인된 청동기시대 주거지 중 구릉 정상에 위치한 주거지는 동-서 방향으로 2~3기씩 군집을 이루고 있다. 그리고 능선 중간부분에서 확인된 주거지는 원형과 방형이 중복되어 있으며, 원형주거지가 방형주거지에 비해서 선행하고 있다. 주거지 및 수혈유구 내부에서는 무문토기·홍도·일단병식석촉·편인석부·환형석부·삼각형석도·지석 등 청동기시대 중기에 해당하는 다양한 유물이 출토되었다. 중발유적은 주거지와 수혈유구가 공존하는 주거지 중심 취락유형으로 금강유역 청동기시대 문화 연구에 좋은 자료로 판단된다. 또한, 이번 발굴조사를 통해 금강과 인접한 익산시 망성면 일원이 청동기시대 당시 주된 생활 터전임을 알 수 있었다.

광섬유 연결 반도체레이저를 여기원으로 하는 단면여기 세라믹 Nd:YAG 레이저의 출력 특성과 레이저 출력에 영향을 미치는 열 영향에 대하여 연구하였다. 반사율이 90.4 %인 출력거울을 사용하였을 경우 약 33.8 %의 최대 출력 효율을 얻었고, 기울기 효율은 39.3 %를 나타내었다. 세라믹 Nd:YAG의 열렌즈 효과에 의해 여기 파워 6 W 이상에서 출력 감소 현상이 나타났으며, 12 W 부근에서 레이저가 발진되지 않았다. The output characteristics of a ceramic Nd:YAC laser pumped by a fiber-coupled laser diode was investigated. An efficiency and a slope efficiency of 33.8 % and 39.3 % respectively were obtained, under an output coupler reflectance of 90.4 %. The laser power has decreased suddenly due to the thermal tensing effect more than 6 W pumping powers.
광기구적 자동 비열화가 적용된 비정형 적외선 광각 카메라

비정형(anamorphic) 렌즈가 적용된 적외선 광각 카메라 광학계를 제안하고 제작을 통해 그 유용성을 입증하였다. 개발된 적외선 카메라는 비정형 렌즈를 이용하여 수평방향에 대해서는 100도 이상의 넓은 시계를 제공하면서 수직방향에 대해서는 수평시계보다 큰 배율을 갖게 함으로써 증가된 해상도를 통해 장비의 광역 감시 및 탐지 능력을 동시에 향상시키는 특징을 갖는다. 또한 광기구적 자동 비열화 방법을 제안하고 시스템에 적용하여 그 성능 및 활용성을 확인하였다. A system of infrared camera optics with wide field of view and anamorphic lenses is proposed, and its validity verified through manufacture. The infrared camera produced provides a wide field of view of over 100 degrees in the horizontal direction, and an even greater magnification in the vertical direction. As a result, the system can have a wider surveillance range and improved detection ability at the same time. In addition, a new optomechanical automatic athermalization mechanism is proposed and applied to the infrared camera. Its performance and utility is proved through testing.
