In Korea more than ninety bridges are collapsed every year by flood, which causes the scour of pier foundation. Researches on the quantitative assessment method to assess the integrity of bridge against scour have not been organized systematically in the bridge design practice and maintenance area. In this study, dynamic characteristics assessment experiments are carried out as an emergency inspection method to assess the integrity of the pier foundation for scour after a flood. According to the dynamic characteristics assessment experiment, which simulates foundation scour of the spread footing pier, foundation scour can be evaluated by the first mode natural frequency of the pier.

The objectives of the on-the-spot inspection in Honam district are to find out the situation of the damages on facilities and the reason of the damages caused by heavy snow, and to suggest the preventive plan for reducing the damages from the future heavy snow. From the results of the on-the-spot inspection, plastic houses, barns and ginseng cultivation facilities are mainly damaged by heavy snow in the Honam district, and the importance of the future heavy snow preparedness measures is highly recognized in an agricultural district. In this research, 4 kinds of alternative proposals for the heavy snow are suggested.
Educational Lecture 2-4 (EL 2-4) : Various biopsy methods and suturing technique

Skin biopsy is essential to establish a diagnosis of skin disorders and in planning of therapy. The type of skin biopsy depends on the kind of lesion to investigate. First, punch biopsy is performed with a pre-made circular cutting punch and range in size from 2mm to 6mm. This may be the most commonly used technique. The technique is as follows: After anesthesia, the skin is drawn taut with the non-dominant hand and the punch is applied gently and firmly against the skin surface perpendicularly. Next, a downward pressure using a twirling motion is applied, The cylindrical specimen should be lifted smoothly with the tip of the needle or by gentle handling with the forceps. Then the base of specimen can be cut and ensuring a good amount of fatis very important. Second, save biopsy can remove the elevated portion of surrounding skin which is caused by the protruding lesion itself or the manner of injection of local anesthetic. The depth of shave biopsy is limited to the epidermis and the deep papillary dermis. It is useful tool to remove seborrheic keratoses, warts, pyogenic granuloma and so on. The technique is as follows : The lesion is elevated from the surrounding skin by injecting local anesthesia to facilitate the procedure. With pinching the skin between the thumb and index finger, a razor blade or surgical blade should be moved under the lesion horizontally to the skin surface. The operator can control the depth of the biopsy by the angle of the blade. Third, the excisional and incisional biopsy could be needed to remove larger lesion or when deep specimen including subcutis must be taken. Above biopsy requires much time, more skill and advance preparation of instruments. The elliptical biopsy in which the length is three or four times larger than width making 30 angle at the poles is widely used. It is necessary when the specimen for microscopic examination must include either a continuum from uninvolved normal skin through the edge of a lesion into the thickest or most representative area of the lesion. The defect after skin biopsy usually closed by suturing. The simple interrupted suture is the most and widely used. It is important that the path of a simple interrupted stitches enters the skin at an angle 90, and the suture loop at the base is broader than the skin surface. In a simple running stitch, the individual stitches need not knot except the first and the last suture and the time is much shorter comparing with interrupted stitches. Buried subcutaneous sutures is helpful in spreading wound closure tension, closing dead space and apposing wound edges. Proper placement is critical for good result. So the entering point and the exit point in the dermis should be same level to prevent a step-off deformity.

Surgical treatment is of choice for the treatment of skin cancer. However, in case of multiple tumors or metastatic cancer or inoperable state, we should choose other types of treatment. There are various kinds of treatment options including radiation therapy, chemotherapy, immuno-therapy, targeted therapy, hormone therapy. In this presentation, we try to focus on the targeted therapy. Targeted cancer therapies block the growth and spread of cancer cells by interfering with specific molecules that has been known to be involved in the development and spread of skin cancer. There are a lot of drug approved for skin cancer. 1. The list of drug approved for basal cell carcinoma ·Sonidegib, Vismodegib 2. The list of drug approved for malignant melanoma ·Aldesleukin, Cobimetinib, Dabrafenib, Dacarbazine, Intron A, Ipilimumab, Keytruda (Pembrolizumab), Mekinist (Trametinib), Nivolumab Pembrolizumab Trametinib, Vemurafenib. Herein, the author will talk about the pathogenesis of skin cancer which give informations for developing targeted therapy and clinical trials of it.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the influence of 5% sodium hypochlorite solution on dentin surfaces treated with three different adhesives. Materials and Methods Ocdusal superficial dentin surfaces of 42 extracted teeth were exposed. Slabs were made and divided into three groups (One-Step Plus, Clearfil SE Bond, and G-Bond groups). Each group was subdivided according to dentin treatment. Composite resins were bonded to dentin surfaces of each group. Bonded specimens were subjected to uSBS test and fractured patterns observed under FE-SEM. Results: When the One-Step Plus was applied, application of 5% NaOCl increases uSBS and s h o d dose adaptation. On the other hand, in cases of Clearfd SE Bond and G-Bond, application of 5% NaOCl decreased uSBS and showed gaps between the dentin and composite resin. Conclusion: Application of 5% NaOCl increased or decreased dentinal band strength according to the adhesive used. Keywords: Dentin surfaces, Self-etching adhesives, Self-etching primers.
