광-회선-패킷 통합 전달망 장비는 광전송망, 회선 망, 패킷 전달망 계층을 하나로 통합한 장비로써, 패킷-회선 교환 전달, ROADM(Reconfigurable Optical Add/Drop Multiplexer) 광파장 교환 전달, GMPLS(Generalized Multi-Protocol Label Switching) 기반 통합제어 및 관리기능을 수행하면서 네트워크 구조의 단순화, 네트워크 제어의 지능화, 그리고 네트워크 용량의 광대역화를 구현한다. 트래픽 폭증과 전송용량 부족 현상을 해결하고, 트래픽 증가 대비 수익의 탈동조화 현상을 극복하기 위해 네트워크 CAPEX(Capital Expenditures)/OPEX(Operating Expenditures)를 절감함으로써 통신사업자의 투자 여건을 우호적으로 조성하면서 최근 주목 받고 있는 기술이다. 본고에서는 광-회선-패킷 통합 전달망의 기술동향을 기술한 것으로써, 배경, 필요성 및 개념 개발동향 및 경쟁기술에 대해서 살펴보고, 기술발전 로드랩 및 주요 기술 동향과 시장 및 사업화 전망에 대해서 분석한다.

Proton-Induced Radiation Damage of Crystal Scintillators

We report results from a proton beam test to measure radiation damage and activation in crystal scintillators. Samples were irradiated with the 45 MeV proton beam from the MC-50 cyclotron at the Korea Institute of Radiological and Medical Sciences. Proton beam fluxes of 0.5 to 10 nA were used for the test. A PMT was attached to one side of the crystal and a 25 Mhz FADC (Flash Analog to Digital Converter) was used for the signal digitization. The light output and the energy resolution of the scintillation crystals with 662-keV gamma rays from a 137Cs radioactive source was measured prior to and after proton irradiation, and the result were compared with each other. Apart from an increase in the intrinsic activity, we did not observe any significant effect on the scintillation light output or the energy resolution of the LYSO crystal.
Proton Beam Energy Monitoring with Radiation-Hard Crystal Scintillators

Monitoring of the energy profiles of protons in different beam configurations is important not only for understanding the characteristics of proton beam but also for understanding the light output response of a scintillation crystal. The energy profile of a proton beam was measured with several types of crystal scintillators by using 35- and 45-MeV proton beams from the MC-50 cyclotron at the Korea Institute of Radiological and Medical Sciences. Scintillation crystals of BGO, LYSO and GSO were used for the energy measurement of the proton beam. The pulse height spectrum and the energy resolution were measured for each crystal and compared with one another. The best energy resolution was 3 \% FWHM with the GSO crystal. Different thicknesses of energy degraders were used with the 35- and the 45-MeV proton incident energies to measure the light output response function of the BGO crystal.

Conventional SVPWM method has null switching vectors. Null switching vectors cause high common-mode voltage in induction motor drive system. The newly developed common mode voltage reduction PWM technique don't use zero switching state for inverter control. It is realized by changing software without additional hardware. Simulation and experimental results show that proposed method are reduced common mode voltage more than conventional method.
Development of a Proton Energy Monitoring Device for a High Count Rate Environment

We developed a standalone data acquisition module that could digitize a maximum of 3 million samples per second for proton energy measurements. The module also includes a pile-up separation algorithm so that pile-up events could be rejected efficiently. Proton energy monitoring was performed by using the 45-MeV proton beam from the MC-50 cyclotron at the Korea Institute of Radiological and Medical Sciences. The energy profile of the proton beam was measured with a LYSO (Cerium-doped Lutetium Yttrium Ortho-silicate) crystal scintillator with a 40-ns decay time. The scintillator was coupled to a Photomultiplier tube, and its output signal was fed into the signal digitization module, followed by a preamplifier. The digitized signal was sent to a computer via Ethernet. We measured the energy profiles at different transverse beam positions. We found that the energy resolution become worse when pile-up was increased because of the high count rate at the central region. The energy resolution was improved when the pile-up rejection algorithm was applied.
