Gamma irradiation as a new physical treatment was applied to comparative researches with a conventional chemical fumigant on the microbiological and physicochemical qualities of selected agricultural products such as powdered hot pepper soybean paste, oyster mushroom powder, carrot flake, and raw sesame. The microorganisms contaminated in the sample, including total bacteria, thermophiles, acid tolerant bacteria, fungi, osmophilic molds and coliforms were sterilized with irradiation doses of 7-10 kGy, while ethylene oxide (E.O) fumigation proved insufficient for the destruction of them. An optimum dose of irradiation was less detrimental than E.O. fumigation to the physicochemical properties of the sample. Sensory evaluation after three months of storage at room temperatures showed that the overall acceptability of irradiated sample was higher than that of the nontreated control as well as E.O. fumigated samples.
다단계 상호연결망의 고착고장에 대한 효율적인 고장진단 기법

본 논문은 다중 컴퓨터 시스템(multicomputer system)에서 사용되는 상호연결망(interconnection network)의 일종인 다단계 상호연결망(multistage interconnection network)에서의 고착고장(stuck-at fault)과 관련된 고장진단(fault diagnosis)에 대해 고찰한다. 지금까지 연구된 바에 의하면 다단계 상호연결망의 고장을 검출하고 위치를 찾기 위채서는 각 고장의 유형에 따라 서로 다른 다수의 과정을 거치거나 몇 번의 테스트를 통한 진단기법을 필요로 한다. 이에 본 논문에서는 단일과정을 통해 대표적인 고착고장의 유형을 검출하고 위치를 찾아내는 고장진단 알고리즘을 제안한다. 즉, 고착고장이 존재하는 임의의 다단계상호연결망에 대하여 고장 스위치 소자의 행과 열의 위치정보 및 고착고장의 유형진단 알고리즘을 제시한다. 마지막으로 다단계 상호연결망의 일종인 16×16 베이스라인 망(baseline network)에서 고착고장이 발생한 스위치의 위치와 유형을 찾는 과정을 통해 제안하는 알고리즘의 효용성을 검증한다. This paper is concerned with the fault diagnosis for stuck-at faults of a multistage interconnection network(MIM) which is a kind of interconnection networks in multicomputer systems. Up to the present, a fault diagnosis scheme has dealt with a fault model of all types, which results in complicated algorithms. In the literature, it is shown that a number of steps and computation are required for the fault detection and isolation algorithms for a class of MINs. In this paper, we propose a simple and easily implementable algorithm for the detection and isolation of the stuck-at fault in MIM. specifically, we develope an at algorithm for the isolation of the source fault in switching elements whenever tile stuck-at fault is detected in MINs. After all, the proposed algorithm is illustrated by an example of 16$\times$16 baseline networks of MINs.
HFCVD에 의한 다이아몬드 박막 증착에 관한 실험적 연구

An experimental study of hot filament chemical vapor deposition(HFCVD) has been carried out for the fabrication of diamond thin film. Of particular interest is the measurement of deposition uniformity on large substrates. Experimental apparatus including a vacuum chamber, heating elements, etc. has been designed and manufactured. Deposition profiles for different pretreatment powders and different flow rates have been measured in conjunction with the measurement of substrate temperature distribution on a large substrate surface. As the flow rate increases, deposition rate increases, however, the crystallinity becomes worse. Higher growth rate has been found on the region closer to the center location where substrate temperature is higher. The crystallinity has been improved as gas flow rate decreases. The growth rate and morphology of deposition were identified by SEM and the existence of diamond phase was proved by Raman spectroscopy.

The purpose of this study was to examine the factors affecting quality of life among elderly people with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) in a community. The design of this study was an exploratory survey. The subjects were 268 adults aged over 65 years with DM in a community. The data were collected from July to October, 2011 and analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression by using SPSS/WIN 20.0 program. The quality of life was positively associated with self care behavior (r=.226, p<.001), self-efficacy (r=.323, p<.001), and social support (r=.345, p<.001). However, quality of life had moderately negative correlation with depression (r=-.445, p<.001). Among the variables, depression, social support, and self-efficacy were explanatory factors accounting for 23.9% of quality of life. These findings suggest that depression and self-efficacy are important factors affecting quality of life in the elderly with DM and it can be improved by strengthening social support.
