We have observed the orientation behavior of acicular iron oxides in magnetic layer of the particular magnetic tape after magnetic paint was coated on polyester film. As results of the static orientation, orientation of iron oxides come to the maximum at the front and the back of orientation magnets, but it was a litter lower at the back than at the front, and it slowly decreases and come to the constant level after passing through the orientation magnets. In case of edge portion to be futher away from center in the coated film, the orientation of iron oxides in magnetic layer come to worse than that of the center. We think it is owing to the shape and the magnetic magnitude of orientation magnets.<br/> The results of the dynamic orientation are as follows. As the orientation of iron oxides in the particulated magnetic tape is higher, the output properties of tape come to better than ever. And the orientation of iron oxides can be changed by drying condition, as result, the output properties of tape can be also. Therefore we think the considrations of the design of orientation magnets and the control of drying condition are needed to improve output properties of the particulated magnetic tape.
자율차 및 친환경차 보급에 따른 자동차검사의 역할과 기능에 대한 연구

The government should consider measures to develop and disseminate inspection technology for advanced safety devices, electronic parts, and high-voltage batteries that are equipped with new technologies in automobiles. As mentioned above, about 76% of automobile inspections are conducted by private inspection stations. Since private inspection laboratories are for-profit operators, there is a limit to expanding their scope to R&D fields such as automobile inspection system management, inspection technology and equipment development. Therefore, in order to smoothly perform automobile inspections at private inspection stations, the role of the government is necessary to develop and distribute inspection equipment, inspection methods and technologies for automobiles to which new technologies have been applied, namely, eco-friendly vehicles and autonomous vehicles. Efforts to maximize the role and function of the current domestic vehicle inspection are approaching more urgently. It is said that the priority is to create a quasi-city where the government, prosecutors, and private prosecutors can faithfully fulfill their original roles. The International Automobile Inspection Commission (CITA) verified that the domestic vehicle inspection technology and system operation system are not inferior to those of advanced vehicle countries in Europe. Examples are the legal basis for an inspection agent to receive information necessary for the development of a diagnostic device for vehicle inspection from the manufacturer, and the basis for supporting the budget necessary for R&D. It is also worthy of pride to have a computerized system for The case where our advanced inspection system is introduced to Southeast Asia or Mongolia and supported through the International Cooperation Agency is also a point of pride. Efforts to increase the dissemination of autonomous and eco-friendly vehicles, social demands for vehicle inspection, and public acceptance of the system cannot be neglected. When the roles of the government, inspection agents and private inspection companies for the development of vehicle inspection are fulfilled, the international dignity of Korea, which is entering an advanced automobile country, is expected to further increase.

Background: Medical skin care is essential for the treatment of skin diseases all over the world. Medical skin care is also part of medical practice and this must be differentiated from the simple skin care that is given for normal healthy skin. Objective: We wanted to discuss medical skin care and the related medical devices and legal issues. Methods: We reviewed the related laws and regulations, we consulted experts and associations and we analyzed the result of the survey. Results: Legally, medical skin care and simple skin care are well classified. However, many illegal procedures are still performed by non-medical personnel and many adverse effects have been reported as a result. Furthermore, there are no legal restrictions for the performer based on the grade of each medical skin care procedure. Conclusion: For the best results and safe procedures, medical skin care must be performed by approved medical equipment under the supervision of a physician or medical personnel. Continuous control and guidance by the government is strongly needed. (Korean J Dermatol 2009;47(11):1236~1245)

Morin이 benzo(k)fluoranthene에 의한 유방암 세포 MCF-7의 CYP1A1 유전자 발현 조절에 미치는 영향

We investigated the effect of dietaty flavonoid, such as CYP1A1 promoter activity, 7-ethoxyresorufin-O-deethylase(EROD) activity and CYP1A1 mRNA expression induced by benzo(k)fluoranthene(B(k)F) in MCF-7 cells. Based on the three criteria of frequency of occurrence in the environment, toxicity and potential exposure to humans, B(k)F is one of the top-listed PAHs. We found that B(k)F significantly up-regulates the level of CYP1A1 promoter activity, EROD and CYP1A1 mRNA. When cells were treated with morin alonem, it was not changed that EROD and CYP1A1 mRNA, compared to that of control. However, morin inhibited the B(k)-induced CYP1A1 prompter activity and mRNA level at high concentration. But morin exhibited stimulatory effects B(k)F-induced CYP1A1 promoter activity and mRNA level at low concentration. Overall, results from these studies demonstrate morin might interfere the action of B(k) with AhR system to stimulate CYP1A1 gene expression. CYP1A1 is known to be inducible by xenobiotic compouds such as polyciclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs) and 2,3,7,8-tetrachloro-dibenzo-p-dioxin(TCDD). These chemicals have been identified worldwide and can have a significant impact on the human health and well being of human and wildlife. Given these issues, the detection and quantification of these chemicals in biological, environmental and food samples is important.

Cytochrome P4501B1(CYP1B1) is known to be inducible by xenobiotic compounds such as policyclic aromatic hydrocarbon(PAH) and dioxins such as 2,3,7,8-tetrachloro-dibenzo-p-dioxin(TCDD). And these induction of CYP1B1 is also regulated by many categories of chemicals. In order to investigate the effects of several chemicals on CYP1B1 gene expression in Hepa-I and MCF-7 cells, 5' flanking DNA of human CYP1B1 was cloned into pGL3 basic vector containing luciferase gene, and then transfected into these cells. After treatment of chemicals, the luciferase activity was measured. CYP1B1 enzyme metabolize PAHs and estradiol. CYP1B1 metabolize estradiol to 4-hydrozyestradiol that is considered as carcinogenic metabolite. Recent industrialized industrialized society, human has been widely been exposed to widespread environmental contaminants such as PAHs(polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon) that are originated from the imcomplete combustion of hydrocarbons. PAHs are known to be ligands of the AhR(aryl hydrocarbon receptor). Induction of cytochrome P4501B1(CYP1B1) in cell culture is widely used as a biomarker for PAHs. Therefore we have studied the effect of PAHs in the human breast cancer cells MCF-7 to evaluate bioactivity of PAHs. We have used the United State of America EPA selected 13 different PAHs, PAHs mixtures and extracts from environmental samples to evaluate the bioassay system. We examined effects of PAHs on the CYP1B1-luciferase reporter gene and CYP1B1 mRNA level. Benzo(k)fluoranthene and dibenzo(a, h)anthracene showed strong response to CYP1B1 promoter activity stimulation, and also CYP1B1 mRNAs increase in MCF-7 cells in a concentration-dependent manner. RT-PCR analysis indicated that PAHs significantly up-regulate the level of CYP1B1 mRNA. Some flavonoids such as genistein, daidzein, chrysin, naringenin and morin were also investigeted. These flavonoids decreased B(k)F infuced luciferase activity at low concentration. But, these flavonoids exhibited stimulatory effect at high concentration.
