In this paper, radiation efficiency of the plate surround by an infinite rigid baffle is studied. The plate is simply supported and one side is in contact with air, while other side with water. The pressure and normal velocity over the plate surface are assumed as modal summations, from which a set of linear equations is obtained for fluid-structure coupled problem. It is shown that neglect of the cross modes results in overestimation of the radiation efficiency specifically for mid-frequency ranges. Based on the fact that the responses are mainly determined from the first few cross modes in addition to the diagonal terms, a new algorithm is proposed, where banded matrix is iteratively solved in computing radiation efficiency. In numerical examples, it is found that radiation efficiency obtained from banded matrix is in excellent agreement with the one from the full matrix, while computing time is significantly reduced. It is also found that as frequency grows larger, radiation efficiency considering only diagonal terms is a good approximation.

Osteogenic sarcoma is primary malignant bone tumor. It can arise de novo or from the benign precursors lesions, like Paget's disease, giant cell tumor, chronic osteomyelitis, osteoblastoma, and fibrous dysplasia. Here, we present a case of osteogenic sarcoma arising from florid osseous dysplasia appearing as a rapidly growing bony bulging mass in 44-year-old Korean female who had at first been non-symptomatic, but later suffered from the numbness of chin and lower lip. The radiologic images revealed the mixed radiopaque- radiolucent intraosseous lesions throughout the mandible, which were diagnosed as florid osseous dysplasia pathologically. But only after 6 months, the lesions were substituted by the radiological ill-defined diffuse bony sclerotic lesion with bone destruction, accompanying the interrupted periosteal bone formation, which were pathologically diagnosed as osteogenic sarcomas. These serial clinicopathologic changes imply the malignant progression of florid osseous dysplasia rather than the collision of benign condition, florid osseous dysplasia and malignant tumor, osteogenic sarcoma. The possibility for fibro-osseous lesion of the jaw as premalignant lesion should not be overlooked; therefore, periodic check-ups for the lesions are necessary. Proper evaluation and interpretation for clinical neural symptom and radiologic change of bone density may lead to the correct differential diagnosis and therapeutic intervention.

Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the mechanism of promoted skin wound healing in skin defects with primary cultured oral mucosal keratinocytes. Materials and methods: Thirty adult female nude mice weighing 20±2g were used for the experiment. Primary cultured and suspended oral mucosal keratinocytes, labeled with BrdU, were scattered onto 1.5㎝×1.5㎝ sized full thickness skin defects in the experimental group(N=15), and no grafts were placed the control group(N=15). They were sacrificed at 3 days, 1 week and 2 weeks after the treatment respectively. Histological examination of each wounds were performed to review the healing progress on measuring the length from the wound margin to regenerating epithelial front. The role of keratinocytes were assessed by double immunohistochemical staining with Anti-BrdU and Anti-cytokeratin AE1/3. Results: In the experimental group the wound was completely covered with regenerating epithelia in 2 weeks, but partially regenerated in the control group. The immunohistochemical studies unexpectedly reveal that most of regenerating epithelial cells were induced from marginal epithelium of the margin, not from the scattered keratinocytes. Conclusion: We could successfully confirm that graft of primary cultured oral mucosal keratinocytes promotes the regeneration of skin defects.
