This paper describes a current regulated PWM boost type rectifier based on modified trapezoidal PWM. Each switch of a converter has no switching for one third period of a fundamental line current. Therefore, the switching loss of the proposed scheme is less than that of the hysteresis current controller.<br/> Operating principle is described and slmulations and experiments are carried out.

Objectives : Sparganii Rhizoma is frequently used in traditional herbal medicine for treatment of blood stasis, amenorrhea and functional dyspepsia and has been reported to exhibit anti-oxidant, anti-proliferation and anti-angiogenesis peoperties. In this study, we investigated the cytoprotective effect and underlying mechanism of Sparganii Rhizoma water extract (SRE) against oxidative stress-induced mitochondrial dysfunction and apoptosis in hepatocyte. Methods : To determine the effects of SRE on oxidative stress, we induced synergistic cytotoxicity by co-treatment of arachidonic acid (AA) and iron in the HepG2 cell, a human derived hepatocyte cell line. Results : Treatment of SRE increased relative cell viability and altered the expression levels of apoptosis-related proteins such as Bcl-xL, Bcl-2 and procaspase-3. And SRE also inhibited the mitochondrial dysfunction and excessive reactive oxygen species production induced by AA+iron. In addition, SRE activated of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), a potential target for cytoprotection, by increasing the phosphorylation of AMPKα at Thr-172. Morever, SRE increased phosphorylation of acetyl-CoA carboxylase, a direct downstream target of AMPK. Conclusion : These results indicated that SRE has the ability to protect against oxidative stress-induced hepatocyte damage, which may be mediated with AMPK pathway.

Purpose: To evaluate the mid-term (over 5 years) clinical and radiologic results of Maxim(R) (Biomet, Warsaw, USA) Cruciate Retaining total knee replacement arthroplasty (TKRA). Materials and Methods: Between Feb. 1997 and Nov. 2000, 103 knees in 65 patients who had been followed up for 5 years after TKRA with Maxim(R) Cruciate Retaining were evaluated retrospectively for clinical and radiologic results. Results: The average range of motion increased from 114˚ (80~130˚) preoperatively to 128˚ (105~130˚) at the last follow-up. The average range of flexion contracture decreased from 6.5˚ preoperatively to 0.8˚ (0~15˚) at the last follow-up. In patients with osteoarthritis, the mean preoperative knee score (59.2) and functional score (40.7) improved to 88.6 and 90.1, respectively. In rheumatoid arthritis patients, the mean knee score and functional score also improved from 47.4 and 39.2 to 80.6 and 88.3. Roentgenographic evaluation revealed a radiolucency rate of 19.5%. Complications were deep infection in 2 cases and periprosthetic fractures in 3 cases. The former had received reimplantations. Conclusion: The mid-term results of Maxim(R) Cruciate Retaining total knee replacement arthroplasty were reliable and satisfactory in terms of improvements of range of motion, restoration of function, and rare complications. However, long-term follow-up evaluation is necessary.
지하매설 및 해양 금속구조물 음극방식용 모듈 타입 스위칭 정류기

본 과제를 통해 금속 구조물 음극 방식용 고성능 스위칭 정류기를 개발하였다. 개발된 정류기 회로는 크게 두 부분, 즉 l 대로 구성된 AC/DC 컨버터부와 4대로 구성된 Module Type DC/DC 컨버터부로 되어 있다 AC/DC 컨버터는 IGBT PWM Rectifier 로서 입력전압의 역률을 거의 1로 제어하고 있으며 또한 DC Link 전압을 일정하게 제어하고 있다. Module Type DC/DC 컨버터는 ZCS/ZVS 스위칭 동작을 통하여 스위칭 손실 감소와 함께 고주파 동작을 가능하게 하여 , 입력측과 출력측의 전기적 절연을 위한 변압기로 고주파 변압기를 사용할 수 있게 하였다 이로 인해 시스템의 부피와 무게를 현저 히 감소시켰다 본 과제에서 개발한 방식용 정류기 기술 은 다른 유사 분야에의 적용도 가능한 것으로 사료된다.
