Varicella zoster virus (VZV) infection is a relatively common viral infection of the cranial nerves, especially the trigeminal and facial nerves. However, the involvement of the isolated vagus nerve has been rarely reported. We report a 65-year-old man with isolated vagus nerve palsy after a VZV infection. He presented with headache, dysphagia and hoarseness with sudden onset. He had vesicles localized on the concha of the right ear. The VZV IgG and IgM antibody titer in the serum was elevated.

46,XX True hermaphroditism is a clinical condition in which both ovarian and testicular tissues can be observed in a person. Cases of psychoses in true hermaphrodites have been rarely reported in the whole world. Recently, we experienced a rare case of psychosis in a 24 year-old female who was born with ambiguous genitalia and had been confirmed as a true hermaphrodite by chromosomal analysis. This case was reported and related articles were reviewed. The patient was raised as a boy until her male genitalia was castrated and she was raised as a girl at the beginning of the 3rd grade of her elementary school period. She was adapted well until she failed the teachers' employment examination just after graduation of her college. Clinical features of religious delusions, bizarre behavior, self-harm, incoherent speech, sudden catatonic posturing, mutism, negativism were observed as well as transient cognitive deficit such as disorientation and loss of memory. Physical anomalies such as microcephaly, long extremity bones and ambiguous genitalia in addition to the chromosomal study of 46,X-X, +dert(X;?) suggest true hermaphroditism. The case of a psychosis in true hermaphroditism supports the notion that sex chromosomal anomalies may be partly involved in the pathogenesis of schizophrenia.
Comparative Studies on Conducting Polymer-Based Two-Electrode Supercapacitors

Supercapacitors have attracted great attention by many researchers as next generation energy storage devices. Among them, many researches have been conducted on conducting polymer-based supercapacitors due to their unique advantages such as fast and reversible redox reaction and high specific capacitance. However, in order to apply the conducting polymer to the electrodes for the supercapacitor, it is necessary to overcome the low reliability of the conducting polymer due to the low mechanical strength and short life cycle. Therefore, in this study, nanomaterial composite electrodes based on conducting polymers, which can realize higher storage capacity and excellent cycle stability through the introduction of various materials, were prepared. These materials were applied to two-electrode symmetric and asymmetric supercapacitors, and the electrical and electrochemical properties of the fabricated devices were compared and analyzed.

This work describes solid-state asymmetric supercapacitors (ASCs), composed of aniline oligomers as a cathode, reduced graphene sheet as an anode and sealed with solid electrolyte. This research clarifies the synergetic effects on electrical and electrochemical performances resulting from of combination between aniline oligomers and waterdispersible graphene (WDG) sheet. The electrical and electrochemical properties of ASCs were highly dependent on the protonation levels of aniline oligomers including aniline tetramer, aniline trimer, and aniline dimer. The aniline tetramer with an appropriate chain length provided sufficient carrier transport within the cathode compared to the other oligomers. The ASC composed of aniline tetramer/WDG exhibited high areal capacitance (62.2 mF/cm2), volumetric capacitance (207.4 F/cm3), and good cycling stability (97.2% after 2000 cycles and 90.4% after 10000 cycles).
