논문 : 해외공연이 최승희의 예술세계에 미친 영향

최성옥 ( Sung Ok Choi ) 한국무용기록학회 2010 무용역사기록학 Vol.20 No.-

This study aims to examine how much Ishii Baku and overseas dance performance tours had impacted Seung-Hee Choi`s choreography and her unique dance styles. This study also tries to show her contribution to the modernization of Korea`s traditional dance. During the Japanese colonial era, Seung-Hee Choi showed the pain of the Korean people who had lost their nation through dancing. This nationalistic aspect was the foundation of her choreography and her dance styles. She was influenced by Ishii Baku who was her Japanese dance teacher. With his influence, she choreographed the new form of Korean modern dance styles by incorporating Korean traditional dance movements to her own creative style. After overseas tours of dance performances in the U.S.A., Europe, and South America from 1938 to 1940, Seung-Hee Choi realized that her dance styles incorporating traditional Korean dance movements are more acclaimed by the foreigners than the domestic audiences. Thus, she decided to develop her own unique dance styles more incorporated with traditional Korean dance. Furthermore, she wants to establish East Asian dance styles. Choi tried to establish "Choi Seung-Hee East Asian Ballet Foundation" for a systematic study of Asian dances. However, her venture failed because the social and political milieu was not conducive at that time. This study confirms that Isihe Baku and the American dance tour had significant influences on building Choi`s own dance styles. In the American and European dance tours, she introduced "Bosalchum" and "Choripdong," which showed Korean national emotions and attracted the interest of Western ballet groups that tried to incorporate the nationalistic materials into the modern dance. During the South American dance tour, she expressed mistery and beauty of Asia by harmonizing Korean traditional dance movements and Western dance styles. After she recognized that traditional Korean dance movement attracted foreign interests, she devoted herself to internationalize Korean modern dance, which eventually became the foundation of Korean modern dance and modernized Korean traditional dances. With her own artistic ideas, she constantly created dance works. Therefore, she deserves to be recognized as one of the most significant figures in Korean dance history in spite of the political ideology and her achievements should be taught to the young generation.

      • Stereoselective synthesis of amino-substituted apio dideoxynucleosides through a distant neighboring group effect

Choi, Won Jun,Ahn, Hee Sung,Kim, Hea Ok,Kim, Sanghee,Chun, Moon Woo,Jeong, Lak Shin 梨花女子大學校 藥學硏究所 2002 藥學硏究論文集 Vol.- No.11

Novel amino-substituted apio nucleoside (2R, 4R)-LJ-45 as a potential anti-HBV agent was steroselectively synthesized from the known oxazolidine 1 through a distant neighboring group effect. It is believed that this synthetic method using a chiral template, (-)-L-serine methyl ester can be generally applied to the synthesis of other chiral amino-substituted nucleosides.

Productivity Loss of Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients according to the Their Stages of the Disease Activity Score

        ( Sang-Cheol Bae ),( Jin-Hye Cha ),( Jung-Yoon Choe ),( Sung Jae Choi ),( Soo-Kyung Cho ),( Won-Tae Chung ),( Chung-Il Joung ),( Young-Ok Jung ),( Young Mo Kang ),( Dong-Wook Kim ),( Jinseok Kim ),( Y 대한류마티스학회 2018 대한류마티스학회지 Vol.25 No.2

Objective. Productivity loss was compared by 3-stage of disease activity and associations between higher disease activity and high productivity loss were identified. Methods. Data were extracted from Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) Patient-reported Outcomes Research, which enrolled 2,000 RA patients (>20-year) on disease-modifying-antirheumatic-drugs (DMARDs) (≥ 6-month) from December 2012 to June 2013. This included 1,457 RA patients with the disease activity score (DAS-28-ESR) in their medical charts. Productivity loss in time and indirect cost was estimated using The World Health Organization Health and Work Performance Questionnaire (HPQ). Baseline characteristics and productivity loss outcomes were compared according to DAS-28-ESR groups. Results. 84.4% were females, 54.2% had low DAS-28-ESR (<3.2), and 38.2% and 7.6% had moderate (3.2∼5.1) and high DAS-28-ESR (>5.1). Patients with moderate to high DAS-28-ESR had higher lost productivity time (LPT) and monthly costs of LPT than those with low DAS-28-ESR (time in hours: 110.0±58.4 vs. 132.4±57.2 vs. 71.5±52.0, p<0.0001; monthly costs of LPT in 1,000 Korean won: 1,097±607 vs. 1,302±554 vs. 741±531, p<0.0001). Multiple regression analyses revealed significant associations with high LPT in high (adjusted odds ratio [OR]=3.87, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 2.18∼6.87) and moderate DAS-28-ESR (adjusted OR=1.88, 95% CI: 1.41∼2.52) compared to low DAS-28-ESR. In addition, positive associations with high monthly costs of LPT were observed in high (adjusted OR=3.45, 95% CI: 1.98∼5.99) and moderate DAS-28-ESR (adjusted OR=1.93, 95% CI: 1.43∼2.54) compared to low DAS-28-ESR. Conclusion. Timely therapeutic strategies should be taken into consideration given that the RA patients with moderate to high DAS-28-ESR showed strong associations with high productivity loss for effective management of RA. Development of cell models for high-throughput screening system of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 1

        Choi, Yu-Ri,Jung, Sung-Chul,Shin, Jinhee,Yoo, So Young,Lee, Ji-Su,Joo, Jaesoon,Lee, Jinho,Hong, Young Bin,Choi, Byung-Ok Korean Society of Medical Genetics and Genomics 2015 대한의학유전학회지 Vol.12 No.1

Purpose: Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT) is a peripheral neuropathy mainly divided into CMT type 1 (CMT1) and CMT2 according to the phenotype and genotype. Although molecular pathologies for each genetic causative have not been revealed in CMT2, the correlation between cell death and accumulation of misfolded proteins in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) of Schwann cells is well documented in CMT1. Establishment of in vitro models of ER stress-mediated Schwann cell death might be useful in developing drug-screening systems for the treatment of CMT1. Materials and Methods: To develop high-throughput screening (HTS) systems for CMT1, we generated cell models using transient expression of mutant proteins and chemical induction. Results: Overexpression of wild type and mutant peripheral myelin protein 22 (PMP22) induced ER stress. Similar results were obtained from mutant myelin protein zero (MPZ) proteins. Protein localization revealed that expressed mutant PMP22 and MPZ proteins accumulated in the ER of Schwann cells. Overexpression of wild type and L16P mutant PMP22 also reduced cell viability, implying protein accumulation-mediated ER stress causes cell death. To develop more stable screening systems, we mimicked the ER stress-mediated cell death in Schwann cells using ER stress inducing chemicals. Thapsigargin treatment caused cell death via ER stress in a dose dependent manner, which was measured by expression of ER stress markers. Conclusion: We have developed genetically and chemically induced ER stress models using Schwann cells. Application of these models to HTS systems might facilitate the elucidation of molecular pathology and development of therapeutic options for CMT1.

        Choi, Yeong-Seok,Lee, Jin-Kyu,Jung, Ji-Taek,Jung, Young-Chul,Jung, Jong-Hyun,Jung, Myung-Ok,Choi, Yang-Il,Jin, Sang-Keun,Choi, Jung-Seok Korean Society for Food Science of Animal Resource 2016 한국축산식품학회지 Vol.36 No.5

This study was conducted to find pork quality to meet the needs of consumers. Thus, the meat quality and fatty acid composition of longissimus muscles from purebred pigs (Landrace, Yorkshire, and Duroc) and three-way crossbred LYD pigs were compared and evaluated. Chemical compositions of longissimus muscles were significant (p<0.05) different among pigs. Duroc contained significant (p<0.05) higher fat contents than other pigs, whereas significant (p<0.05) higher moisture contents were observed in Landrace, Yorkshire, and LYD pigs compared to those of Duroc pigs. The values of pH24 h and pH14 d were the highest in Landrace pigs. Myoglobin contents of LYD pigs were higher (p<0.05) than those of purebred pigs. Regarding meat color, Duroc and Yorkshire pigs had higher redness values than Landrace and LYD pigs, while Landrace pigs had the lowest (p<0.05) color values among all pigs. There was no significant difference in shear force or water holding capacity (WHC). Duroc pigs maintained the lowest drip loss during 14 d of cold storage. In sensory evaluation, the marbling scores of Duroc pigs were higher (p<0.05) than other pigs. Regarding fatty acid compositions, total USFA, poly-, n-3, and n-6 contents were the highest (p<0.05) in LYD pigs, while total SFA contents were the highest (p<0.05) in Duroc pigs. Based on these results, purebred pigs had superior overall meat quality to crossbred pigs.

      • A Comparative Study on Skin Thickness between an Old-Aged Group and a Young Aged Group by 20 MHz-High Frequency Ultrasonography

Choi, Sung-Woo,Lee, Ji-Ho,Kim, Hyung-Ok,Kim, Jong-Il,Lee, Hae-Kwang 가톨릭대학교 2000 Bulletin of The Catholic Research Institutes of Me Vol.28 No.-

Sin thickness for parameter of skin aging has been analysed with various methods. Skin thickness variateions between the young and the old has been studied with various methods such as biopsies, calipers, micrometers, computer tomography, ultrsonography. But none of these methods evaluates skin thickness exactly. For the evaluation of age-dependent skin thickness changes, we compared the skin thickness of an old-aged group and a young group with 20MHz-ultrasonography. In orders to identify the skin thickness variation between different age groups, 60 subjects, 30 aged 23-33, and 30 over 60, were studied with 20MHz-high frequency ultrasonography(Dermascan C, Cortex Technology, Hadsund, Denmark) on fourteen skin sites. This machine was designed to measure the thickness from the top of the epidermis to the bottom of the dermis. After storage of cross-sectional skin imaging, skin thickness was calculated with a computer assisted image analysis program. Skin thickness of the old was analysed by age, sex, height and weight. 1. In the old-aged group, skin thickness decreased in comparison with the young-age group. In men, the decrease of skin thickness in the old-aged group was significant on the chest, lower back, lower leg flexor, lower leg extensor, foot dorsum in comparison to the young-aged group(p<0.05). In women, the decrease of skin thickness in the old-aged group was significant on the cheek, chest, upper back and lower back in comparison to the young-aged group(p<0.05). 2. In men, skin thickness was thicker in comparison to that of females. 3. Skin thickness was well correlated inversely to age, but not correlated to weight and height. 4. Compared to other methods such as biopsy, computer tomography, conventional ultrasonography, the value of skin thickness with 20MHz-high frequency ultrasonography was more reliable. By 20MHz-high frequency ultrasonography, skin thickness decreased in th old-aged group in comparison to the young-aged group. (Korean Journal of Dermatology 37(6):719-725, 1999)

        Postoperative radiotherapy for endometrial cancer

Choi, Eun Cheol,Kim, Jin Hee,Kim, Ok Bae,Byun, Sang Jun,Park, Seung Gyu,Kwon, Sang Hoon The Korean Society for Radiation Oncology 2012 Radiation Oncology Journal Vol.30 No.3

Purpose: To investigate the prognostic factors and effectiveness of postoperative radiotherapy alone for endometrial carcinoma. Materials and Methods: Sixty four patients with stage I-III endometrial cancer (EC) treated with postoperative radiotherapy alone between January 1989 and December 2008 at the Keimyung University Dongsan Medical Center were chosen for the present study. Typically, total hysterectomy, salpingo-oophorectomy and lymphadenectomy were performed on the patient's pelvis. Total dose from 50.4 Gy to 63 Gy was irradiated at pelvis or extended field. Thirteen patients were treated with Co-60 or Ir-192 intracavitary radiotherapy. Follow-up periods were from 7 to 270 months, with a median of 56 months. Results: Five year overall survival (OS) rate was 58.7%, respectively. Five year disease-free survival (DFS) rate was 59.2%, respectively. In univariate analysis for OS and DFS, stage, menopausal age, type of operation, serosal invasion, and lymph node involvement were found to be statistically significant. Histologic type was marginally significant. In multivariate analysis for OS and DFS, stage, types of operation, histologic type were also found to be statistically significant. Treatment failure occurred in 14 patients. The main pattern of failure was found to be distant metastasis. Time to distant metastasis was from 3 to 86 months (median, 12 months). There were no grade 3 or 4 complications. Conclusion: Stage, types of operation, and histologic type could be the predictive prognostic factors in patients. We contemplated postoperative radiation as effective and safe treatment method for EC. Additional treatment would be needed to reduce distant metastasis.
