        도시하수 Sludge 의 경작지 처리가 식물체중 Cd 및 Zn 함량에 끼치는 영향

        도시생활하수의 처리에서 생산된 물질인 sludge를 토양개량제로 토양에 처리하여 재배한 식물체중 Cd 및 Zn의 흡수 축적되는 정도를 비교분석하기 위하여, sludge를 0.22.5, 45.0, 90.0t ha^(-1) 수준으로 토양에 처리하고 쪽파, 무우, 감자, 배추 등 4종의 작물을 pot 재배하여 각 식물체 부위별 Cd 및 Zn 농도를 분석하고 토양중에서 의 이들 중금속 농도의 증가 요인과 식물체중의 Cd 및 Zn함량 증가와의 관계를 통계분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 공시작물체 중의 Cd 및 Zn 함량은 sludge 처리량이 증가할수록 증가하였다. 2. 공시작물 뿌리중의 Cd 및 Zn함량도 sludge 처리량이 증가할수록 증가하였으며 쪽파>감자>배추>무우순으로 증가하였다. 3. 작물별 잎중의 Cd 함량은 쪽파>무우>감자>배추 순으로 증가하였고 Zn 농도는 배추>감자>무우>양파 순으로 증가하였다. 4. 식물체 부위별 Cd농도가 가장 낮았던 부위는 감자의 괴경, 무우뿌리, 배추잎으로 그 범위가 0.03-0.12ppm 이었다. 5. Sludge 90.0t ha^(-1) 수준으로 토양에 처리하여 재배한 식물체 중의 Cd함량은 부위에 따라 원토양에서 재배한 식물체중 함량의 1.2-10배까지 흡수축적 되었고, Zn함량은 0.4-2.3배 증가하였다 6. Sludge처리에 의한 Cd 및 Zn농도 증가에 대한 식물체 부위 중의 흡수 축적율은 쪽파의 뿌리에서 Cd의 경우를 제외하고는 거의 일정하였다. Four crop plants, such as green onion(Allium ascalonicum L.), radish(Raphanus sativus L.), potato(Solanum tubersum L.) and chinese cabbage(Brassica pekinensis Rupr), were grown in greenhouses to determine the accumulations of Cd and Zn absorbed by the plants grown on soils treated with municipal sewage sludge of different levels of 0, 22.5, 45.0 and 90.0 ton ha^(-1) as soil dry weight. The result was analyzed to be comparable to the heavy metal content in the plant tissues among the crop species and the statistical characteristics were investigated to determin a possible relationship between causes of increased contents of Cd and Zn in plants and in soils. The results were as follows : 1. The Cd and Zn content in experimental crop plants increased with increase in quantity of treatment sludge. 2. The Cd and Zn content in roots of all experimental plants increased with sludge treatment amount in soil, in the following order : green onion>potato>chinese cabbage>radish. 3. The Cd content in leaves of crop plants were high in this order : green onion>radish>potato>chinese cabbage, and the Zn content in leaves of crop plants was high in this order. : potato>radish>chinese cabbage>green onion. 4. Concentrations of Cd in potato tubers, radish roots and chinese cabbage leaves ranged from 0.03 to 0.12 ppm. 5. Concentrations of Cd and Zn in plant tissues grown in sludge treated soil of 90.0 ton ha^(-1) were 1.2 to 10 times and 0.4 to 2.3 times higher as compared with those absorbed from sludge-free soil, respectively. 6. The accumulation rates of Cd and Zn in sludge-treated plant tissue were almost constant except for green onion roots.

        전라남도 구례 농촌지역에서의 단기원격무선추적을 이용한 너구리(Nyctereutes procyonoides koreensis) 한 쌍의 행동권에 관한 연구

        이 연구의 주된 목적은 구례 농촌지역에 서식하는 1쌍의 너구리(Nyctereutes procyonoides koreensis) 행동권을 측정하고 이전 너구리 연구와 비교하는데 있다. 원격무선추적은 2개체의 너구리를 이용하여 2개월 간격(2000년 6, 8, 10, 12월)으로 2일씩 주기적으로 수행되었다. 모니터링 기간 동안, 무선추적은 주간과 야간에 걸쳐 보통 1~3시간 간격으로 실시되었다. 전체 46~64개의 무선추적 자료의 분석 결과는 95% 최소볼록다각형(MCP) 방법에서 1쌍의 너구리의 전체행동권 크기가 1.41㎢, 평균행동권 크기가 0.32㎢임을 보여주었다. 암컷과 수컷의 행동권은 상당 부분 중첩되었고(약 70~95%), 행동권 크기는 서로 유사한 양상을 나타내었다. 그러나 주간(0.01㎢)과 야간(0.35㎢)의 행동권 크기는 매우 큰 차이를 보였고, 여름(0.56㎢)에 가장 컸지만 겨울(<0.01㎢)에 가장 작았다. 추가적으로, 1쌍의 너구리는 1개의 핵심지역과 4개의 서로 다른 섭식지역들을 가지고 있었다. 결론적으로, 동일한 개체들을 이용하여 하루 동안 더 빈번한 추적 수와 더 긴 추적 간격을 이용한 이 너구리 행동권 자료는 하루 동안 덜 빈번한 추적 수와 더 짧은 추적 간격을 이용한 이전의 연구와 매우 유사한 결과를 보여 주었다. The primary aim of this study is to estimate the home range of a pair of raccoon dogs(Nyctereutes procyonoides koreensis) and to compare with the previous study of raccoon dogs in a rural area of Gurye, the southern part of South Korea. Radiotracking was regularly carried out on 2 raccoon dogs for 2 days every 2 months(in June, August, October and December, 2006). During the 2 days, radiotracking was usually conducted every 1~3 hours through day and night. The analysis of tracking data with a total of 46~64 bearings showed that the total home range size of the pair was 0.41㎢, and mean home range size was 0.32㎢ by 95% minimum convex polygons(MCP) estimate. The home ranges of the male and female were largely overlapping(about 70~ 95%), and the sizes were not very much different from each other. However, there was a big difference between day(0.01㎢) and night-time(0.35㎢) home ranges, and it was largest in summer(0.56㎢) and smallest in winter(<0.01㎢). In addition, the home range of the pair included 1 core area and 4 different feeding areas. In conclusion, our raccoon dog home range data using the same individuals but with more frequent bearings per day and more extended tracking intervals still showed very similar results to the previous study with less frequent bearings per day and more extensive tracking days.

        실험연구 : 흰쥐 횡격막 신경근 표본에서 Ondansetron과 Granisetron이 Rocuronium의 근 이완 작용에 미치는 효과

        Background: Both ondansetron and granisetron exert their antiemetic effects via a blockade of the 5-hydroxytryptamine 3 receptor (5-HT3R). Because the 5-HT3R is a member of a superfamily of ligand-gated ion channels and has structural similarities to the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR), a 5-HT3R antagonist may also inhibit the nAChR. This study examined the effects of 5-HT3R antagonists, ondansetron and granisetron, on rocuronium-induced neuromuscular blockade in vitro. Methods: Rat phrenic nerve-hemidiaphragm preparations were isolated and allocated randomly into seven groups (control, 1, 10, 100μg/ml of ondansetron, 0.1, 1, 10μg/ml of granisetron). Two studies were carried out using single twitch responses. In the cumulative dose-response study, rocuronium 1μg/ml and each doses of ondansetron or granisetron were administered simultaneously, and incremental 0.5μg/ml doses of rocuronium were added to obtain more than 95% neuromuscular twitch inhibition. ED5, ED50, ED90, and ED95 of rocuronium in each group were calculated using a logistic model. In the partial curarization study, the twitch heights were measured after administering ondansetron or granisetron (10 minutes after administering 3μg/ml rocuronium) and were measured 10 minutes later. The 2 twitch heights were then compared. Results: In the cumulative dose-response study, ondansetron 100μg/ml and granisetron 10μg/ml significantly reduced the ED50 of rocuronium (P < 0.05). There were no intergroup differences in the partial curarization study. Conclusions: High concentration of ondansetron and granisetron enhanced the neuromuscular blockade of rocuronium. Granisetron enhanced the neuromuscular blockade of rocuronium more potently than ondansetron. (Korean J Anesthesiol 2006; 51: 94~100)

        New Tocopherol Analogue with Radical-Scavenging Activity from the Peels of Citrus unshiu Marcovich

        One new tocopherol analogue, methoxytocopherol (1), and two known analogues, ${\alpha}$-tocopherol (2) and ${\gamma}$-tocopherol (3), were isolated from the peels of Citrus unshiu Marcovich. The chemical structures of compounds 1-3 were determined by interpretation of spectroscopic data. All isolated compounds were evaluated for radical-scavenging capacity using 2,2'-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) diammonium salt, 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl, and oxygen radical absorbance capacity assays.

        Neuroimaging Findings in Patients with COVID-19: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

        Objective: Central nervous system involvement in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has been increasingly reported. We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the incidence of radiologically demonstrated neurologic complications and detailed neuroimaging findings associated with COVID-19. Materials and Methods: A systematic literature search of MEDLINE/PubMed and EMBASE databases was performed up to September 17, 2020, and studies evaluating neuroimaging findings of COVID-19 using brain CT or MRI were included. Several cohort-based outcomes, including the proportion of patients with abnormal neuroimaging findings related to COVID-19 were evaluated. The proportion of patients showing specific neuroimaging findings was also assessed. Subgroup analyses were also conducted focusing on critically ill COVID-19 patients and results from studies that used MRI as the only imaging modality. Results: A total of 1394 COVID-19 patients who underwent neuroimaging from 17 studies were included; among them, 3.4% of the patients demonstrated COVID-19-related neuroimaging findings. Olfactory bulb abnormalities were the most commonly observed (23.1%). The predominant cerebral neuroimaging finding was white matter abnormality (17.6%), followed by acute/subacute ischemic infarction (16.0%), and encephalopathy (13.0%). Significantly more critically ill patients had COVID-19-related neuroimaging findings than other patients (9.1% vs. 1.6%; p = 0.029). The type of imaging modality used did not significantly affect the proportion of COVID-19-related neuroimaging findings. Conclusion: Abnormal neuroimaging findings were occasionally observed in COVID-19 patients. Olfactory bulb abnormalities were the most commonly observed finding. Critically ill patients showed abnormal neuroimaging findings more frequently than the other patient groups. White matter abnormalities, ischemic infarctions, and encephalopathies were the common cerebral neuroimaging findings.

        Background: The human being and the bacteria have accomplished a balance and have coexisted each other during long time. Probiotics have evolved with the human host to exist and the result they have operated profitably to human host. So it requires that the functions of probiotics are expounded in view of Traditional Korean Medicine. Aim: Suggest the functions of probiotics in view of Traditional Korean Medicine. Method: The author`s research has been performed to review the related references. Results: Probiotics assist the absorption of the lactose, proteins and minerals and product several kinds of vitamins, organic acids. Probiotics suppresses the growth of noxious bacteria and the production of harmful substances or gases. They absorbed and discharge the bile acid, and thus help us maintain the optimal level of blood cholesterol concentration. They can reinforce the immune response of the mucous membrane and control the hypersensitivity immune reaction such as asthma, atopy on the other hand. Probiotics have right functions as above and so can be applied widely in treatment of various disease and symptom. Conclusion: Considering the functions of probiotics in view of Traditional Korean Medicine, they participate in our spleen-earth-system (digestion and synthesis) and liver-wood-system (regulation of digestion, metabolism, internal secretion etc.), assist the function of lung-metal system(respiration and regulation of water metabolism) and regulate wi-chi (reinforce/control immune system). Consequently, hereafter there would be a necessity of control a circumstance in treatment of various diseases under these categories that probiotics should be able to do their right functions inside the human body.
