      • A Genetic Relation Algorithm with Guided Mutation for the Large-Scale Portfolio Optimization

        The survey of the relevant literature showed that the rehave been many studies for portfolio optimization problem and that the number of studies which have investigated the optimum portfoliousing evolutionary computation is quite high. But almost none of these studies deals with genetic relation algorithm(GRA). This study presents an approach to large-scale port folio optimization problem using GRA with a new operator, called guided mutation. In order to pickup the most efficient portfolio, GRA considers the correlation coefficient between stock brands as strength, which indicates there lation between nodes in each individual of GRA. Guided mutation generates off spring according to the average value of correlation coefficients in each individual. A genetic relation algorithm with guided mutation(GRA/G) for the portfolio optimization is proposed in this paper. Genetic network programming(GNP), which was proposed in our previous research, is used to validate the performance of the portfolio generated with GRA/G. The results show that GRA/Gap proach is successful in portfolio optimization.

        Novel-integrated process for production of bio-organic fertilizer via swine manure composting

        The traditional method of producing bio-organic fertilizer contains two consecutive composting stages which, however, is time-consuming and requires high input of energy and cost. This study attempted to combine two consecutive stages into one single step. Paenibacillus polymyxa, as an antagonistic strain to control anthracnose in Chinese Pakchoi, was used as inoculum to obtain bio-organic fertilizers through two approaches: two consecutive stages (TCS) composting as control and the proposed one step through (OST) composting. The resulting two bio-organic fertilizers produced by TCS and OST were tested for the disease incidence and disease resistant index, and the fertility on growth of Chinese Pakchoi. The results of relative abundance of P. polymyxa showed no significant difference between two kinds of bio-organic fertilizers in phylum, family and genus. The disease incidence of bio-organic fertilizers produced by OST and TCS reduced by 61.40% and 68.42%, respectively, as compared to the control group, where the difference was not significant. The growth promoting effect was remarkable, although the difference in the fertility on the growth was not significant. Compared with the traditional TCS method, the novel OST method could improve efficiency of bio-organic fertilizer production by 42.86% per year according to this study.

        Visible-light-driven decomposition of antibiotic oxytetracycline and disinfection of Escherichia coli using magnetically recyclable lanthanum-nitrogen co-doped titania/calcium ferrite/diatomite heterojunction material

        Powdery photocatalyst has shown great potential in wastewater treatment, yet the low reusability is stillits deficiency. In this work, we prepared magnetically recyclable lanthanum-nitrogen co-doped titania/CaFe2O4/diatomite (LN-TCD) ternary material by sol-gel technology. The photocatalytic activity of thismaterial was evaluated via the decomposition of antibiotic oxytetracycline and disinfection of bacteriaEscherichia coli under visible light. Charge transfer took place at the interface between titania andCaFe2O4, and improved the photocatalytic activity. The photodecomposition rate was accelerated by thehigh adsorption ability of substrate diatomite. The optimal preparation and experimental factors weredetermined, and the decomposition mechanism was proposed.

        Interaction of Bilobalide and Ginkgolides B with Bovine Serum Albumin: A Fluorescence Quenching Study

        The interaction of bilobalide (BB) and ginkgolides B (GB) with bovine serum albumin (BSA) was investigated by fluorescent technique and UV/vis absorption spectroscopy. The results showed that BB and GB could intensively quench the fluorescence of BSA through a static quenching procedure. The binding constants (Ka)and the average binding distance between the donor (BSA) and the acceptor (ginkgolides) were obtained (r_(BB)= 5.33 nm and rGB = 4.20 nm) by the theory of non-radiation energy transfer, and then the thermodynamic parameters such as ΔS^0 (0.17-0.32 kJ/mol), ΔG^0 (-20.76 ~ -17.79 kJ/mol) and ΔH^0 (32.47-76.52 kJ/mol) could be calculated, respectively. All these results revealed that the interaction of BB and GB with BSA were driven mainly by hydrophobie force. The synchronous fluorescence spectroscopy was applied to examine the effect of two ginkgolides on the configuration of BSA. The configuration alteration of BSA could be induced by the hydrophobicitv environment of tyrosine with the increase of the drug concentration.

        Patterns of endoscopy during COVID-19 pandemic: a global survey of interventional inflammatory bowel disease practice

        Background/Aims: Performance of diagnostic or therapeutic endoscopic procedures in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) patients can be challenging during a viral pandemic; the main concerns being the safety and protection of patients and health care providers (HCP). The aim of this study is to identify endoscopic practice patterns and outcomes of IBD and coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19) with a worldwide survey of HCP. Methods: The 20-item survey questionnaire was sent to physician members of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Special Interest Group in Interventional IBD, Chinese IBD Society Endoscopy Interest Group, and the China Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. Results: A total of 141 respondents submitted valid responses. Nighty-five respondents (67.9%) reported that at least 25% of their scheduled emergent endoscopic procedures were canceled or postponed during the pandemic. Fifty-six respondents (40.0%) have performed emergent endoscopy during the pandemic. A few respondents (9/140, 6.4%) estimated that more than 25% of their patients had worsened disease due to delayed or canceled emergent endoscopy procedures. More than 80% of respondents believed that personal protective equipment (PPE) for the endoscopy team, room sterilization, and pre-procedure screening of patients for COVID-19 were necessary. Out of 140 respondents, 16 (11.4%) reported that several of their patients had COVID-19. Eight clinicians (5.7%) reported that they or their endoscopy colleagues developed work-related COVID-19. Conclusions: Cancellation of elective and emergent endoscopy in IBD care during the pandemic was common. Few respondents reported that their patients’ disease conditions worsened due to the cancellation of the endoscopy procedure. Most respondents voiced the need for proper PPE during the procedure regardless of patients’ COVID-19 status and screening the patients for COVID-19. (Intest Res 2021;19:332-340)

        Predicting the Application of Huawei Augmented Reality on Media Façade: Using the TAM Model

        In recent years, large-scale and high-density use of LED on facades has exposed some disadvantages, such as light pollution, high energy consumption, unsustainability, and poor interactivity. Because of the development of smartphones and augmented reality (AR), AR has emerged as a new technology available to users to interact with the media façade. As an augmented reality app for public space, the AR map app can superimpose virtual images on the surface of a building to form an AR media façade, which can be applied in the fields of navigation, advertising, interactive public art, smart retail, etc. This study establishes the variables influencing usage intention and the consequent outcomes of Huawei AR map app and uses the technology acceptance model (TAM) to discuss their relationship. Results show that consumer innovativeness, information quality, and design quality have a strong influence on perceived ease of use. Information quality has a positive impact on perceived usefulness, but design quality has a weak influence. Also, the design quality of Huawei AR map app and consumer innovativeness have a higher effect on perceived enjoyment than information quality. Users’ usage attitude and perceived usefulness when using Huawei AR map app are key factors determining their usage intention. This study inspires city planners, architects, developers, and designers of AR apps that augmented reality can partly replace media façade, and that investment in augmented reality will achieve significant sustainable economic and social benefits.

        An Empirical Study on the Influence of Extrinsic and Intrinsic Motivation on Intention to use Mobile Social Network Service

        As a way to gather diverse information required for everyday living, the importance of social network has been growing. Social network service(SNS) has been spreading rapidly because of diffusion of the Internet, evolution of social network sites, and recognition of the importance of social networks. Nowadays, smart phone is very popular, whereas mobile SNS is at quite growing stage of development. So, we conducted an empirical investigation of current mobile social network service users. We investigated the influencing factors of behavioral intention on mobile SNS use from literature review, and analyzed the structural relationship between the research variables through an empirical study. Among important mobile SNS characteristics that facilitate information sharing and social connection, this study intended to find out the relationship between influencing factors and behavioral intention to use SNS. This study adopted the research variables of social influence and self-efficacy as individual difference, and the research variables of timeliness and interactivity as system characteristics in mobile SNS. This study also adopted one mediating factor of perceived usefulness as an utilitarian motivation perspective and another mediating factor of perceived enjoyment as a hedonic motivation perspective. This study analyzed how they affect consumer"s intention to use mobile SNS. Theoretical and practical implications of the findings will be presented.

        Environmental Exposure and Genetic Predisposition as Risk Factors for Asthma in China

        Asthma is the most common chronic pulmonary disease worldwide and places a considerable economic burden on society. China is the world’s largest developing country and has the largest population. China has undergone dramatic changes in the past few decades. The traditional lifestyle and living environment have changed in ways that directly affect the prevalence of asthma. The prevalence of asthma is lower in Chinese children and adults than in developed countries, but the prevalence has been on the rise during the past 30 years. The prevalence significantly varies among different parts of China. Polymorphisms of multiple genes, outdoor air pollution caused by PM2.5, PM10, SO2, NO2, environmental tobacco smoke, and coal, indoor pollution, and inhaled allergens, such as house dust mites, pollen, and cockroach particles, are risk factors for asthma.
