        Analysis of the Open Source Software Sector in China

        The paper describes the status and context of the Chinese Open Source Software (OSS) industry and ecosystem based on the analysis of the components of the China OSS Promotion Union. The analysis involves comparisons of several main Chinese developers of Linux operating system and makers of open source counterpart of the popular Microsoft Office package as well as several main Chinese OSS communities. Comparisons concern the technological and business aspect. The findings reveal peculiarities of the divergence of innovative activities of Chinese companies, as well as indicate that the strong government support may at the same time limit the technology selection under rigid competition, especially as foreign open source companies are found to be more focused on hobbyist developers and are able to maintain larger independent communities. Implications of the paper include the need to coordinate global development efforts and adjust science & technology policies in order to stimulate both the development and the diffusion of open source among Chinese companies and individual hobbyists.

      • Research on Self-organized Evolution Mechanism of Business Incubaring System

        In currently exploratory study, we have analyzed the activities of Business Incubating and put forward the concept of Business Incubating System(BIS) based on the way of systemic thinking. Besides, we have also deconstructed the BIS by the static analysis and explained its self-organized evolution by the dynamic analysis. Then, we construct the “four factors” structural equation model of BIS, and analyze the factors affecting the self-organized evolution in each evolution stage. Finally we conclude that in the three evolution stages the impact level of the four factors is different, so we need to design the flexible mechanism to adjust the self-organized evolution of BIS.

      • Size-Dependent Interactionsbetween Au Nanoparticlesand DNA in Electrochemical Oxidation by Metal Complexes

        <P>Single-stranded oligonucleotides (ssDNA) containing guaninebasesin their sequences were adsorbed onto gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) byelectrostatic interaction. Cyclic voltammetry of Ru(bpy)<SUB>3</SUB><SUP>2+</SUP> in the presence of the ssDNA-AuNP complex resultedin an enhanced anodic current due to the oxidation of the guaninebases of DNA. The current obtained with ssDNA-AuNP appeared much smallerthan the corresponding ssDNA alone. This current reduction was dueto the decrease in solvent accessibility of the guanines in ssDNAimmobilized to AuNPs. A progressive decrease in the current was observedin the titration of AuNPs to ssDNA, and a minimum current was eventuallyobtained, indicating complete binding of ssDNA.         Reliability analysis of degradation with a new independent increment process

        Degradation test is an important method to assess the reliability of complex systems and highly reliable products. The effectiveness ofa degradation model depends strongly on the suitability of the model to describe the process. This paper proposes a new degradationmodel in which the characteristics of the widely used stochastic process and degradation path models are considered simultaneously. According to the proposed model, closed-form expressions of the performance distribution, failure time distribution and their percentiles,as well as reliability, can be obtained easily. A one-stage procedure is then developed to estimate the model parameters, based on which,estimations of the performance distribution, failure time distribution, and reliability are also presented in the paper. Finally, simulationstudies are conducted to validate the proposed method. Results suggest that the method provides precise estimates even for zero-failurecases or an extremely small sample size of approximately five.

        Construction of a Streptomyces lydicus A01 Transformant with a chit42 Gene from Trichoderma harzianum P1 and Evaluation of Its Biocontrol Activity against Botrytis cinerea

        Streptomyces lydicus A01 and Trichoderma harzianum P1are potential biocontrol agents of fungal diseases in plants. S. lydicus A01 produces natamycin to bind the ergosterol of the fungal cell membrane and inhibits the growth of Botrytis cinerea. T. harzianum P1, on the other hand, features high chitinase activity and decomposes the chitin in the cell wall of B. cinerea. To obtain the synergistic biocontrol effects of chitinase and natamycin on Botrytis cinerea, this study transformed the chit42 gene from T. harzianum P1 to S. lydicus A01. The conjugal transformant (CT) of S. lydicus A01 with the chit42 gene was detected using polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Associated chitinase activity and natamycin production were examined using the 3, 5-dinitrosalicylic acid (DNS)method and ultraviolet spectrophotometry, respectively. The S. lydicus A01-chit42 CT showed substantially higher chitinase activity and natamycin production than its wild type strain (WT). Consequently, the biocontrol effects of S. lydicus A01-chit42 CT on B. cinerea, including inhibition to spore germination and mycelial growth, were highly improved compared with those of the WT. Our research indicates that the biocontrol effect of Streptomyces can be highly improved by transforming the exogenous resistance gene, i.e. chit42from Trichoderma, which not only enhances the production of antibiotics, but also provides a supplementary function by degrading the cell walls of the pathogens.

        First-Principles Study of the Three Polymorphs of Crystalline 1,1-Diamino-2,2-dinitrotheylene

        The electronic structure, optical spectra, and thermodynamic properties of the three FOX-7 polymorphs (α, β, and γ) have been studied systematically using density functional theory. The LDA (CA-PZ) and generalized gradient approximation (GGA) (PW91) functions were used to relax the three FOX-7 phases without any constraint. Their density of states and partial density of states were calculated and analyzed. The band gaps for the three phases were calculated and the sequence of their sensitivity was presented. Their absorption coefficients were computed and compared. The thermodynamic functions including enthalpy (H), entropy (S), free energy (G), and heat capacity (Cp) for the three phases were evaluated.

        An IoT Data Clustering Algorithm for Efficient and Cost-Effective Human Resource Assessment

        Information and communication technology development has made human resource assessment a top concern for enterprises. However, a key challenge with human resource assessment is adapting to the rapidly changing environment and utilizing various data types for decisionmaking. Unfortunately, the transmission latency of human resource assessment data in cloud computing platforms can negatively impact user experience. The emergence of mobile edge computing provides a new option for computing-intensive tasks like human resource assessment. A new objective function has been proposed to optimize the task offloading strategy, along with a mathematical model that utilizes the deep recurrent Q-network (DRQN) algorithm to leverage multiple Internet of Things (IoT) nodes. As the amount of human resource assessment data collected by IoT nodes continue to grow, extracting the potential laws and assisting human resources in making informed decisions is increasingly important. A fuzzy weighting clustering algorithm has been proposed to address the difficulty of determining the initial cluster number and center in data clustering based on soft subspace combined with a competitive merging mechanism. Simulation results demonstrate that the DRQN algorithm performs well in terms of energy consumption, cost, and latency, proving that the data collected by IoT nodes can meet the needs of human resource assessment and management after real-time processing. The proposed data clustering algorithm also accurately clusters human resource assessment data, meets high-dimensional data clustering needs, and has significant practical application value.

        Magnetic Microstructures and Corrosion Behaviors of Nd-Fe-B-Ti-C Alloy by Ga Doping

        The influences of Gallium doping on the magnetic microstructures and corrosion behaviors of Nd-Fe-B-Ti-C alloys are investigated. The cooling rate for obtaining fully amorphous structure is raised, and the glassforming ability is improved by the Ga addition. The High Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy image shows that the α-Fe and Fe3B soft magnetic phases become granular surrounded by the Nd2Fe14B hard magnetic phase. The rms and (Δ?)rms value of Nd-Fe-B-Ti-C nanocomposite alloy thick ribbons in the typical topographic and magnetic force images detected by Magnetic Force Microscopy(MFM) decreases with 0.5 at% Ga addition. The corrosion resistances of Nd9Fe73B₁₂.6C ₁.₄Ti₄-xGax (x = 0, 0.5, 1) alloys are enhanced by the Ga addition. It can be attributed to the formation of more amorphous phases in the Ga doped samples.
