        The Development and Application of a External Coating for Buried Pipeline Rehabilitation

        With the development of Chinese petroleum and gas industry, about 20,000 km long-distance pipeline and 250,000 km gathering pipeline have been constructed in China. After operating for many years, most of the coatings on buried pipelines have aged so severe that the steel pipes are subject to corrosion environment underground. Focusing on the need of extemal coating for buried pipeline rehabilitation, a new type of coating has been developed. The development and application of the coatings has been introduced in this paper.

        Adsorption of dyes from water by Prunella vulgaris stem and subsequent fungal decolorization

        The residue of herbaceous Prunella vulgaris stem (PVS) was evaluated as a potential adsorbent for dye removal, followed by fungal cultivation to achieve dye degradation on solid waste. PVS was analyzed in terms of nutritional composition such as fiber, ash, protein, and fat, which not only played a role in dye adsorption but also provided solid matrix for fungal growth. Five dyes, namely, crystal violet (CV), methylene blue (MB), reactive black 5 (RB), indigo carmine (IC), and direct red 80 (DR), were tested as adsorbates but only CV and MB were effectively adsorbed. Effect of sorbent dose, contact time, dye concentration, and NaCl on adsorption was investigated individually. Langmuir model was suitable for fitting MB adsorption, while adsorption of CV adopted the Freundlich model. The adsorption capacity was calculated to be 625 mg/g for CV and 303 mg/g for MB, respectively. The adsorption process of both dyes was spontaneous and endothermic, and the adsorption followed pseudo 2nd order kinetic model and film diffusion model. The dyed PVS was finally cultivated with fungus Pycnoporus sp., wherein efficient dye decolorization was attained under solid state fermentation. As such, PVS coupled with subsequent fungal degradation might serve as novel alternative for dye effluent treatment.

        Effect of Continuous Stress-annealing on the Structure and Magnetic Properties of Fe72.9Si15.8B6.9Nb3.2Cu1Co0.2 Amorphous Alloy

        The induced magnetic anisotropy, domain structure and magnetic properties of nanocrystallized Fe72.9Si15.8B6.9Nb3.2Cu1Co0.2 materials by continuous stress-annealing at 803–903 K under 0–75 MPa were systematically investigated. It was found that the tensile stress applied during annealing is beneficial to reduce the coercivity and core loss by refining the grain size of α-Fe phase. The remanence and permeability for the annealed samples at 853–903 K are negatively correlated with the induced anisotropy, which increases with the applied tensile stress. The stress-annealed samples yield magnetic easy plane perpendicular to the stress axis with an induced anisotropy constant greater than 1200 J/m3. The nanocrystalline cores with a low AC coercivity of 6.0 A/m and low core loss of 16.1 W/kg in combination with a high DC bias capability was successfully fabricated by stress-annealing the amorphous precursor at 878 K under 40 MPa. The current nanocrystalline material has potential for the application as anti-DC transformers in the electronic field.

        Dose-Dense Rituximab-CHOP versus Standard Rituximab-CHOP in Newly Diagnosed Chinese Patients with Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma: A Randomized, Multicenter, Open-Label Phase 3 Trial

        Purpose Rituximab with cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisone administered every 3 weeks (R-CHOP-21) is the standard care for diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). It is unknown whether the dose-dense R-CHOP (R-CHOP-14) could improve the outcome of the disease in Asian population. Materials and Methods Newly diagnosed DLBCL patients were centrally, randomly assigned (1:1) to receive R-CHOP- 14 or R-CHOP-21. R-CHOP-14 was administered every 2 weeks, and R-CHOP-21 was administered every 3 weeks. Primary end point was disease-free survival (DFS). Secondary end points included overall survival (OS), progression-free survival (PFS), response rate and toxicities. Results Seven hundred and two patients were randomly assigned to receive R-CHOP-14 (n=349) or R-CHOP-21 (n=353). With a median follow-up of 45.6 months, the two groups did not differ significantly in 3-year DFS (79.6% for R-CHOP-14 vs. 83.2% for R-CHOP-21, p=0.311), 3-year OS (77.5% for R-CHOP-14 vs. 77.6% for R-CHOP-21, p=0.903), or 3-year PFS (63.2% for R-CHOP-14 vs. 66.1% for R-CHOP-21, p=0.447). Patients with an International Prognostic Index (IPI) score ! 2 had a poorer prognosis compared to those with an IPI score < 2. Grade 3/4 hematologic and non-hematologic toxicities were manageable and similar between R-CHOP-14 and R-CHOP-21. Conclusion R-CHOP-14 did not improve the outcome of DLBCL compared to R-CHOP-21 in Asian population. With manageable and similar toxicities, both of the two regimens were suitable for Asian DLBCL patients. For high-risk patients with IPI ! 2, new combination regimens based on R-CHOP deserve further investigation to improve efficacy.

        The improvement effect of surfactants on hydrogenation at condition containing water for Cu/SiO2 catalysts

        In the industrial production, water exists inevitably into feed stocks in the form of impurity, and it can produce a negative effect in the hydrogenation reaction due to the preferential adsorption of water on active sites. Here, the surfactants (polyvinylpyrrolidone, poloxamer, polyethylene glycol and hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide) are used to improve physicochemical property of Cu/SiO2 catalysts, so that Cu/SiO2 catalysts had a good hydrogenation performance at condition containing water. The appropriate addition amount of surfactants in the catalyst preparation process effectively hindered the agglomeration of copper species by steric configuration and repulsion effect between Cu2+ and positive ionizable, which brought about high copper dispersion and small particle size. Meanwhile, the decomposition of surfactants produced many pores during calcination, resulting in the increased of specific surface area and average pore diameter. These advantages provided more chances for reactants to touch active sites due to spatial restriction and the increase of the number of active sites, so that the negative effects of water can be counteracted. The conversion of Cu/SiO2 catalysts, that the surfactants was added in the catalyst preparation process, increased 60% to 200% at reaction condition containing water.

        The construction of the Ni/La2O2CO3 nanorods catalysts with enhanced low-temperature CO2 methanation activities

        In this work, the La(OH)3 nanorods were successfully synthesized by precisely regulating the parametersof the hydrothermal method. Then, a series of Ni-based CO2 methanation catalysts were fabricated via theincipient-wetness impregnation and deposition–precipitation methods by employing the La(OH)3 nanorodsas the supports. The influences of the support morphology and the preparation method on the metalsupportinteraction, Ni dispersion, and the surface basicity were carefully investigated based on varioustechniques, such as XRD, SEM, H2-TPR, CO2-TPD, XPS, ect. It was found that the rod-shaped La(OH)3 supportedcatalyst prepared by the deposition–precipitation method performed the optimum activity andstability. The reason for this could be derived from the confinement effect of the crystal plane of therod-shaped support, which would promote the formation of the strong metal-support interaction andthe construction of the Ni-La interface with high activity. Furthermore, the online-tandem TG-MS andin-situ DRIFTS technologies were used to investigate the thermal decomposition performance of the catalystprecursors in the calcination process and the reaction intermediates of the CO2 methanation. Therefore, the fundamental roles of support morphology and catalyst preparation method were expectedto direct the advancement of the Ni-based nanostructured catalysts with outstanding low-temperatureperformances.

        Electromechanical coupling modeling simulation and experimental study of crawler

        The electromechanical coupling performance of crawler machinery is investigated. A dynamic equation of electromechanical coupling of crawler machinery is established under multi-typical working conditions. The variation in performance of electromechanical parameters during unstable operations over time is analyzed using the virtual prototype and electromechanical coupling model of crawler machinery. The correctness of the electromechanical coupling model is confirmed by comparing the theoretical analysis, virtual prototype simulation, and physical prototype results. This study provides accurate and valuable theoretical methods and fundamental knowledge to analyze the electromechanical and road driving performance as well as to develop and design a crawler machinery.

        The establishment of a DNA fifi ngerprinting database for 73 varieties of Lactuca sativa capitate L. using SSR molecular markers

        Head lettuce originating near the Mediterranean coast was introduced to China in the fi fth century. It is diffi cult to identifydiff erent varieties of head lettuce due to their close genetic relationships. Simple sequence repeats (SSR) technology is apractical method that has been widely used in variety identifi cation, fi ngerprint construction and genetic diversity analysis. In this paper, 23 pairs of SSR primers were selected to identify and analyse 73 varieties of head lettuce. The results identified a total of 117 mutated alleles detected in 23 loci, with the number of each loci ranging from 2 to 11, with an averageof 5.1 mutated alleles per locus. Additionally, 152 genotypes were detected in 23 loci, with an average of 6.6 genotypes perlocus derived from a range of 2–13. The polymorphism information content ranged from 0.071 to 0.702, with an average of0.499. The selected primer pairs could clearly refl ect the genotypic diversity level of the 73 head lettuce varieties tested, andcan be used in the detection and analysis of the head lettuce varieties. The results of our sequence analysis also showed thatthese 73 varieties of head lettuce could be eff ectively identifi ed by a combination of 19 primer pairs even though the geneticsimilarity among the 73 varieties ranged from 0.647 to 0.991, with an average of 0.798. Based on a capillary electrophoresisplatform, a DNA fi ngerprinting database of 73 head lettuce varieties was established.

        Quantum Transport Simulations of CNTFETs

        In this paper, we explore the electrical properties and high-frequency performance of carbon nanotube field-effect transistors (CNTFETs), based on the non-equilibrium Green’s functions (NEGF) solved self - consistently with Poisson’s equations. The calculated results show that CNTFETs exhibit superior performance compared with graphene nanoribbon field-effect transistors (GNRFETs), such as better control ability of the gate on the channel, higher drive current with lower subthreshold leakage current, and lower subthreshold-swing (SS). Due to larger bandstructure-limited velocity in CNTFETs, ballistic CNTFETs present better high-frequency performance limit than that of Si MOSFETs. The parameter effects of CNTFETs are also investigated. In addition, to enhance the immunity against short - channel effects (SCE), hetero - material - gate CNTFETs (HMGCNTFETs) have been proposed, and we present a detailed numerical simulation to analyze the performances of scaling down, and conclude that HMG-CNTFETs can meet the ITRS’10 requirements better than CNTs.

        Proteome Analysis Provides New Insight into Major Proteins Involved in Gibberellin-induced Fruit Setting in Triploid Loquat (Eriobotrya japonica)

        Background Parthenocarpy can be induced by gibberellin (GA) treatment in plants. The fruits of the loquat exhibit many seeds. GA treatment can induce the development of seedless fruit and increase fruit quality during production. However, the molecular mechanism of fruit setting under GA treatment is still unclear. Objective Our aim was to explore GA-induced parthenocarpy in triploid loquat by proteome analysis to identify the differentially expressed proteins. Methods A proteome analysis was performed using TMT protein labeling and LC-MS/MS in triploid loquat. Results A total of 7290 protein groups were identified in the two stages of fruit setting. The quantitative results showed that 923 differentially expressed proteins (DEPs) were isolated, which were enriched in five pathways: ribosome, citrate cycle (TCA cycle), pentose phosphate, carbon metabolism, and carbon fixation. Twenty-four DEPs were annotated as putative key regulatory proteins involved in fruit setting, which were related to the auxin response, gibberellin metabolism, ethylene synthesis, and cell division. In addition, thirty-five DEPs were involved in the formation of the cell wall, which might be downstream proteins involved in cell proliferation during fruit setting. Conclusion Our report reveals new insight into the protein dynamics of loquat fruit setting induced by GA treatment via the analysis of proteome profiles and provides a reference for other Rosaceae species.
