        Apoptosis induced in vivo by new type gosling viral enteritis virus

        In this study, apoptosis was induced by new type gosling viral enteritis virus (NGVEV) in experimentally infected goslings is reported in detail for the first time. After 3-day-old goslings were orally inoculated with a NGVEV-CN strain suspension, the time course of NGVEV effects on apoptotic morphological changes of the internal tissues was evaluated. These changes were observed by histological analysis with light microscopy and ultrastructural analysis with transmission electron microscopy. DNA fragmentation was assessed with a terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick end-labeling (TUNEL) assay and DNA ladder analysis. A series of characteristic apoptotic morphological changes including chromatin condensation and margination, cytoplasmic shrinkage, plasma membrane blebbing, and formation of apoptotic bodies were noted. Apoptosis was readily observed in the lymphoid and gastrointestinal organs, and sporadically occurred in other organs after 3 days post-infection (PI). The presence and quantity of TUNEL-positive cells increased with infection time until 9 days PI. DNA extracted from the NGVEV-infected gosling cells displayed characteristic 180~200 bp ladders. Apoptotic cells were ubiquitously distributed, especially among lymphocytes, macrophages, monocytes, and epithelial and intestinal cells. Necrosis was subsequently detected during the late NGVEV-infection phase, which was characterized by cell swelling, plasma membrane collapse, and rapidly lysis. Our results suggested that apoptosis may play an important role in the pathogenesis of NGVE disease.

      • The Application of ANP Models in the Web-Based Course Development Quality Evaluation of Landscape Design Course

        Web-based course is the important method in the landscape design teaching. In this paper, the ANP (Analytic Network Process) model has been adopted to evaluate the quality of the development of on-line courses, so as to provide the basis for preferred on-line courses. Conclude 10 evaluation indicators from 3 aspects of teaching, availability, and technology, and establish ANP model consisting of control layer, network layer, and alternatives. Four web-based courses of landscape design were chosen as the evaluation objects and the SD (Super Decisions) software was used to conduct the calculation. The result shows that: ANP is a practical science decision analysis method, comprehensively considering the mutually influential and feedback relationships of indicators, and is suitable for the evaluation and decision of the complex problems. The development quality evaluation of ANP which is applied in landscape design web-based courses is feasible, and the result of research can provide decision basis to web-based course development.

      • A High Power Density and Efficiency Bi-Directional DC/DC Converter for Electric Vehicles

        In electric vehicle systems, bi-directional DC/DC converters are used to interface the battery bank with the high voltage DC bus of the inverter. The high power density and high efficiency are required for bidirectional DC/DC converters. This paper discusses the relationship between switching frequency, inductor value and passive components volume. First, the topologies of the system and the converter are presented. Then, the loss breakdown model is provided. A selection for the switching frequency is presented and an option of inductor value is provided to reduce the converter size and to keep the converter efficient. Then the converter layout which further enhances the power density is discussed. Finally, a high power density and high efficiency converter prototype is built, and the efficiency and thermal performance evaluation of the converter at different operating conditions is given.

      • A Differentiated Virtual Resource Allocation Strategy Based on Game Model for Multi-tenant Applications

        Resource allocation for multi-tenancy application is one key issue for cloud service providers. To deal with the competitive problem of limited resources among tenants, this paper proposes a resource allocation strategy based on game model, which combines tenants’ SLA and their resource utilization, in order to deal with the shortcomings of the traditional allocation strategies that consider few about differentiated resource requirements. A framework for multi-tenant resources allocation based on game is presented, and the corresponding game model is established. The related processes auction and resource allocation are designed. The experimental results indicate that it can meet the personalized and differentiated demand of multi-tenant better, and help to improve the system’s overall resource utilization and decrease the operating costs of cloud service providers.

        Prediction of Cellulose Crystallinity in Liquid Phase Using CBM-GFP Probe

        Carbohydrate-binding modules (CBMs) have been developed to investigate the presence of crystalline and amorphous regions of cellulose. However, systematic and quantitative assessment of cellulose crystallinity using such non-hydrolytic fusion proteins in liquid phase has not been reported. In this work, cellulose directed CBM probes containing a green fluorescent protein (GFP) were constructed and named CG17, CG28, and CG2a. The probe binding condition was determined as incubating 30 μg/mL probes in 10 mM phosphate buffer at 30oC for 60 min. Under the optimized condition, the linear correlations between CBM probe binding capability and X-ray diffraction (XRD) crystallinity were well established. Using linear regression equations, the crystallinity of several cellulosic materials was well calculated. Amorphous component and cellulosic surface area probably had a less effect on binding capability of CG2a than that of CG17 and CG28. Therefore, crystalline-region specific probe CG2a should be an efficient tool for interpreting the crystallinity of cellulosic materials.

        Performance of Mg-Ti modified iron-based catalyst in NH3-SCR of NO at the presence of arsenic: Influence of oxygen and temperature

        Impact of arsenic on the performance of Mg-Ti modified iron-based catalyst during selective catalyticreduction of NOx with ammonia was studied. The results indicated that Mg and Ti modification not onlyimproved the catalytic activity at 100–350 C, but also exhibited remarkable anti-arsenic ability. Mg wasdominant in the excellent anti-arsenic performance, and this role was firstly recognized. The anti-arsenicmechanism of Mg-Ti modified iron-based catalyst was ascribed to two aspects. One side, Mg exhibitedwell reactivity with arsenic which competed with Fe for the adsorption of arsenic and protected activeiron sites from arsenic occupation. The other side, presence of Mg promoted the formation of MgFe2O4in view of the strong interactions between Mg and Fe, suppressing the interactions between arsenicand Fe. Instead, gaseous arsenic turned to bond with Mg-O sites. Consequently, surface acid sites andfunction Fe-OH/ Fe = O bonds were preserved for de-NOx. Moreover, increase of oxygen content and temperatureweakened the deactivation of Mg-Ti modified iron-based catalyst by arsenic. It was due to theoxidation of As2O3 with oxygen content increase and the strengthened reactivity of non-active iron siteswith arsenic and Mg with arsenic as temperature elevation, inhibiting the interactions between activeiron sites with arsenic.

      • Applicable Prospects of Eye Tracking Technology in the Research of Landscape Visual Perception

        This paper mainly adopts the literature research method, which analyzes the application progress and development overview of the eye tracking technology, as well as the technical features of the eye tracking devices. Combined with the research needs in landscape visual perception, eye tracking technology have application values in the following aspects: landscape attractiveness analysis, safety design of landscape environment, usability design of landscape facilities, landscape perception in motion, quality improvement of landscape information interface, cognitive analysis of physiological vulnerable groups and quality improvement of landscape education. Eye- tracking technology should be used reasonably in the study so as to exploit its advantages to the full and correct its deficiencies. The development of hardware technology and software technology of eye-tracking offers a new perspective and study platform for the study on landscape visual perception, which contributes to improving the scientificity of the study on landscape visual perception.

        Effects of the Helicobacter pylori Virulence Factor CagA and Ammonium Ion on Mucins in AGS Cells

        Purpose: To investigate the effects of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori)-CagA and the urease metabolite NH4 + on mucin expression inAGS cells. Materials and Methods: AGS cells were transfected with CagA and/or treated with different concentrations of NH4CL. Mucingene and protein expression was assessed by qPCR and immunofluorescence assays, respectively. Results: CagA significantly upregulated MUC5AC, MUC2, and MUC5B expression in AGS cells, but did not affect E-cadherin andMUC6 expression. MUC5AC, MUC6, and MUC2 expression in AGS cells increased with increasing NH4 + concentrations untilreaching a peak level at 15 mM. MUC5B mRNA expression in AGS cells (NH4 + concentration of 15 mM) was significantly higherthan that at 0, 5, and 10 mM NH4 + . No changes in E-cadherin expression in AGS cells treated with NH4 + were noted, except at 20mM. The expression of MUC5AC, MUC2, and MUC6 mRNA in CagA-transfected AGS cells at an NH4 + concentration of 15 mM wassignificantly higher than that at 0 mM, and decreased at higher concentrations. The expression of MUC5B mRNA increased withincreases in NH4 + concentration, and was significantly higher compared to that in untreated cells. No significant change in the expressionof E-cadherin mRNA in CagA-transfected AGS cells was observed. Immunofluorescence assays confirmed the observedchanges. Conclusion: H. pylori may affect the expression of MUC5AC, MUC2, MUC5B, and MUC6 in AGS cells via CagA and/or NH4 + , butnot E-cadherin.

        Piezoelectric properties of [Li0.03(K0.48Na0.52)0.97](Nb0.97Sb0.03)O3-(Ba0.85Ca0.15)(Ti0.90Zr0.10)O3 lead-free piezoelectric ceramics

        [Li0.03(K0.48Na0.52)0.97](Nb0.97Sb0.03)O3-(Ba0.85Ca0.15)(Ti0.90Zr0.10)O3 [(1-x)LKNNS-xBCTZ] lead-free piezoelectric ceramics were prepared by the conventional solid state method, and effects of BCTZ content on the piezoelectric properties of LKNNS ceramics were mainly investigated. A stable solid solution has been formed between LKNNS and BCTZ, and a morphotropic phase boundary of (1-x)LKNNS-xBCTZ ceramics is identified in the range of 0 < x ≤ 0.02. The Curie temperature of (1-x)LKNNS-xBCTZ ceramics decreases with increasing BCTZ content. A higher εr value and a lower tan d value are demonstrated for the (1-x)LKNNS-xBCTZ ceramic with x = 0.02. The (1-x)LKNNS-xBCTZ ceramic with x = 0.02 has an enhanced electrical behavior of d33w237 pC/N, kpw 48.6%, 3 rw1451, tan d w0.037, and Tcw335 ℃. As a result, (1-x)LKNNS-xBCTZ ceramics are promising candidate materials for the field of lead-free piezoelectric materials.

      • Quantum Public-key Cryptosystem without Quantum Channels between Any Two Users using Non-orthogonal States

        A quantum public-key cryptosystem without quantum channels between any two users using non-orthogonal states is provided in this paper. Every user keeps a set of quantum particles in non-orthogonal states in a key management center (KMC) as the public key while he or she keeps the states of them as the private key. By the help of KMC users can accomplish secret communication and message authentication. The laws of quantum physics guarantee the unconditional security of this cryptosystem. No entangled states or complex quantum operations are needed. On the other hand there are no quantum channels needed to connecting any two users. So the public-key cryptosystem is easier to carry out and more robust in practice.
