        MULTIDISCIPLINARY DESIGN OPTIMIZATION FOR FRONT STRUCTURE OF AN ELECTRIC CAR BODY-IN-WHITE BASED ON IMPROVED COLLABORATIVE OPTIMIZATION METHOD

        In this investigation, an Improved Collaborative Optimization (ICO) method based Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (MDO) framework for front structure of an electric car body-in-white (BIW) is presented. ICO method based on 1-norm and dynamic flabby coefficient, which shows relatively high efficiency and accuracy, is first proposed here and prepared to conduct MDO in this work. Finite element analysis (FEA) results of the baseline design for an integral battery electric car body structure show that its front part needs to be optimized designed in the consideration of full-lap frontal crashworthiness. Selecting the thicknesses of 5 components, with global mass and free basic frequency constraints, a multidisciplinary size optimization problem is implemented using both ICO and standard CO methods combined with OLHS technique, metamodel and SQL algorithm. Optimal scheme based on ICO method is preferred and selected for its better performance compared with result calculated by standard CO method. The energy absorption of redesigned front body structure is finally raised by 14.2 % with 55 iterations.

        INTEGRATED STABILITY CONTROL STRATEGY OF IN-WHEEL MOTOR DRIVEN ELECTRIC BUS

        Taking the independently actuated in-wheel motor driven electric bus as the research object, an integrated control strategy of yaw stability and roll stability is proposed. On the basis of the upper and lower layered structure, the stability monitoring layer is added to the control strategy, which is responsible for calculating the desired value of the vehicle\'s critical state and determining the vehicle stability control mode. The upper controller is the yaw moment decision layer. To improve the robustness, the sliding mode control is used to calculate the additional yaw moment required for yaw and roll stability, and the Lyapunov method is used to prove the convergence of the algorithm. The lower controller is the torque distribution layer, which uses the active-set algorithm and combines the motor torque and the braking torque of the braking system to optimally distribute the yaw moment. The proposed control strategy is verified through the co-simulation platform of Trucksim and Simulink. The results show that the control strategy can coordinate the various control modes well, improve the tracking ability of the vehicle, and reduce the risk of side slip and rollover of the vehicle.

        Molecular genetic characterization of rice seed lipoxygenase 3 and assessment of its effects on seed longevity

        Lipoxygenases (LOXs) are enzymes involved in lipid peroxidation. Here we reported the identification, molecular and functional characterization of the gene encoding rice (Oryza sativa L.) seed LOX3 (sLOX3). Via a map-based cloning strategy we identified Os03g0700400 as the candidate gene encoding sLOX3. Further functional complementary test and biochemical characterization of the recombinant Os03g0700400 protein verified the identification. The sLOX3 gene was highly expressed in roots, moderately in embryos and very weakly in leaves, leaf sheaths and stems. Transient expression experiment (in rice protoplasts) and subsequent laser confocal microscopic analysis demonstrated that the sLOX3 protein was localized into the cytosol. We next showed that overexpression of sLOX3 in a japonica sLOX3-normal rice cultivar, Wuyunjing 7 accelerated the decrease of seed germination ability when the seeds were routinely stored, which demonstrated that sLOX3 had a negative effect on seed longevity (storability). Meanwhile, an increased occurrence of embryo decay was observed in the same transgenic seeds, suggesting that sLOX3 might negatively affect seed longevity by facilitating colonization of particular seed pathogens. Our result forwarded the understanding of the effects of 9-LOX on rice seed longevity.

        Catalytic performances and leaching behavior of typical natural iron minerals as electro-Fenton catalysts for mineralization of imidacloprid

        Catalytic performances and leaching behavior of 9 natural iron minerals as heterogeneous electro-Fentoncatalysts for the treatment of imidacloprid wastewater were studied. The results showed that magnesioferriteexhibited the best catalytic ability among these minerals with UV absorbance at 270 nm (UV270)removal of 83.59% and COD removal of 49.11% within 4 h using graphite cathode and Ti/(RuO2)0.88-(IrO2)0.12 anode at initial pH 3 with a catalyst dose of 5 g/L, a current density of 40 mA/cm2 and an electrodespacing of 2 cm. The instantaneous current efficiency (ICE) at 4 h and energy consumption (EC)reached 2.30% and 2.20 kWh/gCOD respectively. It was found that the components contained in naturaliron minerals, such as Al, alkali metal (K) and alkaline earth metals (Mg, Ca, Ba), would dissolve into theelectrolyte solution, raising the final pH to 6.5–8.5 and ultimately reducing the reaction efficiency. Exceptmagnetite and magnesioferrite, other minerals, such as ilmenite and V-Ti magnetite, were likely to causesecondary pollution. The subsequent adjustment to alkaline state for chemical precipitation of leachedMn was needed. Pyrite showed relatively high leachability in hazardous elements (especially Pb), whichshould be carefully evaluated before its actual application in electro-Fenton process.

      • Design of Supertall Structures with Connected Towers the Structural Solution to the Development of Sky Cities

        Three cases of supertall connected structures are presented and each of them represents a quite style. The first case is a strong-connected structure. The coupling function of towers and connector contributes a lot to the structural stiffness and stability. Its special construction scheme had great impact on the construction quality and the structural safety, and must be accurately considered. For the second case which is a weak-connected structure, the influences of different connecting modes to the structural dynamic characteristic were explained. Then the combined bearings were proposed to achieve the design presume. In the third case which represents the multi-supported structures, the structural distinctive mechanical properties were discussed. For the structural state during construction process is quite different from that in final service condition, two construction procedures were simulated to get an optimal one. Although there are great challenges to designers, the advantages of the supertall connected buildings are obvious. Further work is needed in this area to adapt to the development of future cities.

        Efficient photocatalytic degradation of 2-chloro-4,6-dinitroresorcinol in salty industrial wastewater using glass-supported TiO2

        2-chloro-4,6-dinitroresorcinol (CDNR) is detrimental to the environment and human health owing to its high toxicity and poor biodegradability. To demonstrate the feasibility of photocatalytic degradation of CDNR from industrial salty wastewater by borosilicate glass supported TiO2 under UV light irradiation, borosilicate glass supported TiO2 was prepared successfully by a novel sol-gel route via dip-coating method and characterized by XRD, SEM, FTIR and XPS analysis. The results showed that TiO2 catalyst has the anatase phase structure with crystallite size of 11.5 nm and coats uniformly on the borosilicate glass. Also, the effects of reaction time, pH value, TiO2 dosage, CDNR concentration, and Cl on the degradation efficiency of CDNR were investigated. The results indicated that at pH 2, reaction time 3.5 h, CDNR concentration 10mg/L, NaCl concentration 5.85% (w/w) and TiO2 dosage 1.0 g/L, 97.7% of CDNR was degraded in the presence of Cl, this corresponded to a rate constant of 1.05 h1, illustrating the feasibility of photocatalytic degradation process. This contribution provides a basic investigation regarding the potential application of borosilicate glass supported TiO2.

        A Critical Role of OsMADS1 in the Development of the Body of the Palea in Rice

        OsMADS1 plays crucial roles in the specification of floral organ identity and the determinacy of floral meristem in rice (Oryza sativa). Here we isolated a rice mutant cy15 with defective spikelets. Map-based cloning identified cy15 as a novel mutation in the C terminus of OsMADS1. Severe cy15 spikelets contained normal inner whorl organs but defective paleas, opposite to four abnormal whorls of Osmads1 flowers reported previously. In the cy15 spikelets, the size of the body was remarkably reduced in paleas, indicating a critical role of OsMADS1 in its differentiation. Moreover, the development of palea was impaired in the early stage of the cy15 spikelets. The sub-subcellular location of the mutant OsMADS1 was also affected in cy15. On the other hand, the truncated C terminus of the mutant OsMADS1 from cy15 still showed a significant transcriptional activator function. Meanwhile, though the mutant OsMADS1 retained intact M, I and K domains, its interactions with two highly homologous A-class proteins, OsMADS15 or OsMADS14, were weakened or abolished. Our data suggested that the C-terminal sequence of OsMADS1 might be required for maintaining normal morphology of spikelets in rice.

        PATH FOLLOWING AND LATERAL-YAW-ROLL STABILITY INTEGRATED CONTROL METHOD FOR AUTONOMOUS DISTRIBUTED DRIVE ELECTRIC BUSES

        In order to improve the path following performance and solve the stability problems of autonomous distributed drive electric buses, this paper proposed a path following and lateral-yaw-roll stability integrated control method. Firstly, to cope with the varying speed during different maneuvers and roll motion of autonomous distributed drive electric buses, a nonlinear 4-DOF vehicle dynamic model which includes rolling and longitudinal movement is established. Secondly, a hierarchical control method is built, in the upper layer, a model predictive controller (MPC) is designed to generate the control inputs, which is obtained through an optimization problem including path following error and vehicle stability condition, especially the roll stability for buses, and for the lower layer, the torque of each drive wheel is distributed through solving an optimization problem about drive requirement and tire utilization. Finally, the validation of the proposed method is carried out through TruckSim-Simulink co-simulation, the results illustrate that both following accuracy and vehicle stability are obtained more effectively than the popular linear MPC method, especially roll stability is guaranteed under extreme condition.

        Dynamic Response Analysis and Model Test Research on K6 Single-Layer Spherical Reticulated Shells Subjected to Impact Load

        To study the dynamic response characteristics and failure process of single-layer spherical reticulated shells under impact loads at diff erent loading points, impact dynamic analysis and experimental study are conducted on the K6 single-layer reticulated shell structure. First, the basic theory of numerical calculation and the model parameters are described. Then, dynamic response analysis under impact load is done by choosing diff erent impact points. Finally, the impact test is performed on a large-scale shell model, dynamic response data of key members and nodes of shell structure are obtained, and the shell deformation and destruction process is recorded by a high-speed camera. The results show that the structural dynamic response gradually increases farther from the base point under the same impact force. The nearer the impact point is, the earlier the response occurs, and the larger the corresponding amplitude will be. The apex is the most unfavorable impact loading point, and the member at the apex should be strengthened for impact resistant design of the reticulated shell. The transmission time of the impact dynamic response from the impact site to the entire reticulated shell is short.
