Traps on Si/SiO2 interface or Si substrate are a big source of variability that cause the mismatch of transistors’ performance and leads to failure. To have a comprehensive view of individual traps, causing random fluctuations, variable trap locations are considered on Si/SiO2 interface and Si substrate. Each trap location is filled with a trap alternatively and simulated via Sentaurus TCAD at five different energy levels (0.35-0.55 eV with a difference of 0.05 eV). The electron charge pumping cycle is recorded to understand each trap's dynamics. In this study, electron charge emission in low time, contributing to substrate current is considered as an indicator to estimate degradation in device performance. The specific value of charge emission in low time contributing to substrate current from an individual-specified trap, reveals the impact of that trap on device degradation. A special case is also discussed to calculate the threshold of failure time based on the accumulation of one femtocoulomb charge in the low time.
Deep Neural Network-based Inverse Analysis with Application to a Rockfill Dam
Gullnaz Shahzadi,Azzeddine Soulaimani 대한토목학회 2024 KSCE Journal of Civil Engineering Vol.28 No.1
The availability of significant computational resources has played an essential role in developing advanced numerical models for the design and safety evaluation of complex structures such as rockfill dams. Determining the geomechanical parameters is deemed a crucial but challenging task for effective modelling. The general approach involves using in situ or laboratory tests or experimental relationships from the literature to assess these parameters. These measures, however, do not accurately reflect the actual situation. This paper proposes a data driven approach using deep neural networks and non-deterministic optimization algorithms to identify the soil parameters that will lead to displacements that best approximate the measured data. The methodology is applied to a rockfill dam recently built in Quebec, for which some measurements of inclinometer displacements are available. A finite element model (FEM) of two dimensions generates numerical solutions. A comparative study is performed to account for the heterogeneity of the materials by decomposing the computational domain into subdomains. Subsequently, the inverse analysis uses the surrogate model instead of the full FEM model for rapid computations. A suitable objective function is defined to account for large oscillations in the measurement data. Non-intrusive stochastic optimization algorithms such as Genetic algorithm (GA), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), and Differential evolution (DE) are evaluated for the minimization problem. Finally, the case study confirms the capability of the proposed methodology to identify the relevant dam parameters, provide some insights into the performance, and compare three optimization algorithms.

Service-oriented computing has been receiving significant importance in recent years. The main aim of service oriented development paradigm is to provide better alignment between business requirements and IT solutions. Despite several benefits, Service Oriented Architecture is facing a number of challenges i.e., Knowledge management, Semantic gaps between requirements etc.In Service Oriented Architecture, Requirements Engineering (RE) is one of the most significant activities for software development but still there are some challenges i.e., traditional requirement issues, user involvement, change in requirements, lack of domain knowledge etc. The aim of our work is to provide a mechanism which address the issue of traditional requirement engineering in service oriented architecture e.g., ambiguity, inconsistency and incorrectness of requirements, that are major causes of failure of projects. Ontology has been adopted as a solution for the improvement of requirement specification. In our thesis, we will provide ontology based solution for alignment of services and requirements.

New organotin(IV) derivatives with general formulae R_2SnL_2 and R_3SnL, where R = methyl, n-butyl, n-octyl and phenyl and HL is either 3-[N-(4-nitrophenyl)amido]-propenoic acid or 3-[N-(4-nitrophenyl)amido] propanoic acid have been synthesized in 1 : 2 and 1 : 1 molar ratio by different methods. The FTIR spectra clearly demonstrated that the organotin(IV) moieties react with [O,O] atoms of the ligands. The bonding and coordination behavior in these complexes are discussed on the basis of multinuclear (^1H,\,^{13}C,\,^{119}Sn) NMR and mass spectrometric studies. Antibacterial, and antifungal screening tests were performed for these compounds and reported here. These values were compared to those of the precursors and it was found that diorganotin(IV) complexes exhibit less activity as compared to triorganotin(IV) complexes . LD_{50} data were obtained by Brine Shrimp assay method. Insecticidal activity was performed for selective compounds by contact toxicity method.
Traditional Unani Plant-Based Therapies for Menopausal Symptoms in Women
Arshiya Sultana,Fahmida Kousar,Shahzadi Sultana,Taseen Banu,Arfa Begum 셀메드 세포교정의약학회 2023 셀메드 (CellMed) Vol.13 No.14
Menopause is a physiological phase experienced by all women as part of normal aging known as menopause. Per se, menopause is not a disease, but hormonal imbalance may lead to menopausal symptoms in some women. The unani physician described that in Sinn-i-Inḥiṭāṭ/ Sinn al-Yās, Burūdat (coldness) increases lead to Ihtibās al-Tamth (amenorrhea) that can occur naturally. Besides, Khilt Dam (blood) production decreases from the liver, slight production occurs, tends towards Burūdat. Therefore, at this age, Ihtibās al-Tamth is associated with Alāmāt Sinn al-Yās (menopausal symptoms) including weight gain, loss of appetite, hirsutism, fatigue, headache, backache, arthralgia, neck pain, general myalgia, nervousness, anxiety, depression, and insomnia. The traditional Unani manuscripts are enriched with knowledge for the management of Alāmāt Sinn al-Yās. Consequently, an extensive exploration of classical texts concerning the management of Alāmāt Sinn al-Yās was undertaken. Moreover, PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar, and other indexing databases were thoroughly explored for evidence-based approaches to managing menopausal symptoms. The principle management as per Unani texts is to treat the cause of Alāmāt Sinn al-Yās. Unani medicines with emmenagogue, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, cardioprotective, and neuroprotective properties are beneficial for the amelioration of Alāmāt Sinn al-Yās. Unani Herbs such as Asgandh, Aslusūs, Khārkhasak, Tagar, Shuneez, Ustukhuddus, Zafran, and M̒̒a̒̒jūn Najāh possess properties and are proven scientifically for their efficacy in Alāmāt Sinn al-Yās. Hence, the substantiation and preservation of traditional knowledge assume paramount importance in facilitating prospective research and proving invaluable in the modern era. Moreover, the conduct of randomized controlled trials, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses becomes imperative.
Are deformed neurons electrophysiologically altered? A simulation study
Tahereh Tekieh,Sohrab Shahzadi,Hashem Rafii-Tabar,Pezhman Sasanpour 한국물리학회 2016 Current Applied Physics Vol.16 No.10
The electrophysiological outcome of neuron deformation is studied. This study is based on modeling the propagation of action potentials in a neuron with different deformed segments subject to an external mechanical compression. The proposed model is based on modified cable equation incorporating geometry variations. The study is performed for different degrees and number of deformations of the axon structure. The results of simulation show that the propagation speed, the refractory period, and the action potential broadening are all directly affected by variations in the geometry.

Fahmida Kousar,Arshiya Sultana,Shahzadi Sultana,Taseen Banu,Arfa Begum 셀메드 세포교정의약학회 2023 셀메드 (CellMed) Vol.13 No.14
Objective: Cerebral palsy (CP) is a neurodevelopment disorder attributed to an insult or injury to the developing brain with abnormalities in muscular tone, movement and motor skill. Improvement in quality of life and ameliorating symptoms can be achieved. Therefore, this case report details a distinctive approach to treating a 5-year-old male child with quadriplegic spastic cerebral palsy utilizing Unani treatment modalities. Methods: The treatment regimen commenced with ‘Habb Ayarij for constipation followed by Sharbat Ustukhuddus administered orally. Notably, Sharbat Ustukhuddus was combined with Melia Azedarach L. leaves vapour bath. Subsequently, Roghan Babunna douche was performed followed by Dalk Layyin and continued until symptomatic improvement was observed. Majun Falasfa, Khamira Marwareed and Khameera Gauzaban were administered for 30 days. The therapeutic outcome included anthropometrical measurements, developmental milestones, spasm/reflex scale, and muscle power grading. Results and conclusion: Over the course of a 2-year follow-up, several clinical findings emerged. These included notable improvements in anthropometric measurements, developmental milestones such as improved head control and sitting ability, and a reduction in spasticity of the upper limbs, along with decreased muscle spasms. The therapeutic outcome of this individualized and holistic approach is potentially due to the multifaceted properties of medicinal plants (Musakkin wa Muharrik wa Muqawwi-i- A‘sab wa Dimāgh, Munawwim, Dafi-i-Tashannuj, Muqawwi-i-Qalb-i-Ruh). Furthermore, the use of Dalk and Naṭūl was instrumental in providing nourishment to musculoskeletal cells and initiating intracellular signaling cascades. While these findings are encouraging, further research in the form of case series and randomized controlled trials is warranted to validate the efficacy of this unique holistic approach.
