IK can downregulate interferon-gamma-induced major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class II expression through the MHC class II transactivator, which suggests that IK can inhibit the interactions between immune cells. We delivered adeno-associated virus serotype 2 (AAV2) encoding the genes for truncated IK (tIK) or green fluorescent protein (GFP) to DBA1/J mice via intravenous injection. Seven weeks after injection, collagen-induced arthritis was induced in the AAV2-treated mice. AAV2-tIK injection reduced the severity of arthritis and the percentage of pathogenic Th17 cells compared with AAV2-GFP injection. These results suggest a novel gene therapy strategy for treatment of inflammatory arthritis.
Therapeutic Effect of Exogenous Truncated IK Protein in Inflammatory Arthritis

<P>Inhibitor K562 (IK) protein was first isolated from the culture medium of K562, a leukemia cell line. It is known to be an inhibitory regulator of interferon-γ-induced major histocompatibility complex class (MHC) II expression. Previously, we found that transgenic (Tg) mice constitutively expressing truncated IK (tIK) showed reduced numbers of pathogenic Th1 and Th17 cells, which are known to be involved in the development of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Here, we investigated whether exogenous tIK protein has a therapeutic effect in arthritis in disease models and analyzed its mechanism. Exogenous tIK protein was produced in an insect expression system and applied to the collagen antibody-induced arthritis (CAIA) mouse disease model. Injection of tIK protein alleviated the symptoms of arthritis in the CAIA model and reduced Th1 and Th17 cell populations. In addition, treatment of cultured T cells with tIK protein induced expression of A20, a negative regulator of nuclear factor-κB (NFκB)-induced inflammation, and reduced expression of several transcription factors related to T cell activation. We conclude that exogenous tIK protein has the potential to act as a new therapeutic agent for RA patients, because it has a different mode of action to biopharmaceutical agents, such as tumor necrosis factor antagonists, that are currently used to treat RA.</P>

Chemical mechanical polishing (CMP), a wafer surface planarization method, is critical in the semiconductorindustry because uniform and scratch-free processing is required for a highly integrated circuiton the wafer surface. Thus, the prediction of aggregated particle size during CMP helps achieve stableand precise processing during experimental circumstances. Herein, silica nanoparticle aggregation simulationduring CMP process-based Quadrature Method of Moments (QMOM) was first described usingANSYS Fluent as a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tool. Experiments were also implemented in a10,000 class cleanroom using a CMP polisher actually used in the semiconductor industry. Moreover, acomparison of experimental particle size measured through zeta-potential and particle size analyzerand simulated Sauter mean diameter (D32) showed that the experimental data agreed well with the simulationresults.

비대면 교육이 늘어나면서 인공지능이 교육에 사용되는 AIEd(AI in Education)분야가 활발히 연구되고 있다. 각 학생의 학습 기록을 바탕으로 학생의 지식 수준을 평가하는 Knowledge Tracing (KT)은 AIEd 분야에서 기본이 되는 작업이지만, 현재까지의 KT모델이 데이터를 충분히 활용하지 않고 있고, KT 모델 구조에 대한 연구가 부족하다는 한계점을 발견했다. 본 논문에서는 KT 모델의 정확도를 올리기 위해 학습자가 풀었던 문제와 학습 시간과 관련된 다양한 특징들을 시도한 후, 기존 모델들과 다르게 총 11개의 특징들을 사용하여 Query, Key, Value 값을 새롭게 설정한 Self-Attention 기반의 새로운 모델, SANTE를 제안한다. 제안한 SANTE 성능을 검증하기 위해 이전의 성능이 뛰어난 KT 모델들과 함께 비교 및 실험을 진행하였고, 최종적으로 AUC 값을 통해 더 좋은 성능을 확인했다. As online education increases, the field of AI in Education (AIEd), where artificial intelligence is used for education, is being actively studied. Knowledge Tracing (KT), which predicts a student"s knowledge level based on each student"s learning record, is a basic task in the AIEd field. However, there is a lack of utilization of the dataset and research on the KT model architecture. In this paper, we propose to use a total of 11 features, after trying various features related to the problems, and present a new model based on the self-attention mechanism with new query, key, and values, Self-Attentive Knowledge Tracking Extended (SANTE). In experiments, we confirm that the proposed method with the selected features outperforms the previous KT models in terms of the AUC value.
음향을 이용한 남해 연안에 서식하는 상괭이(Neophocaena asiaeorientalis) 의 출현 특성 연구

The sound of finless porpoises Neophocaena asiaeorientalis was recorded with an acoustic recorder to confirm their emergence in the South Sea of South Korea in February, June, and November 2020. Sea water temperature and salinity were also measured. In addition, a sighting survey was conducted to observe the behavior of the finless porpoises and the marine environment, and the clicks of the finless porpoises were recorded every day. The results showed that they always emerged in the survey area. The finless porpoises mainly foraged, whereas some played or rested. The water temperature range of areas where the finless porpoises emerged was 7.5-23.5℃. Assuming that the number of clicks corresponds to the number of finless porpoises, the finless porpoises emerged the most during spring. The emergence decreased during winter and was the lowest during autumn. The finless porpoises emerged more during the daytime than during the nighttime in all seasons, indicating a temporal difference in the usage of the survey area. This might be due to the movement of prey organisms according to regional characteristics. A long-term survey and research on habitat use and environment is needed to manage and conserve the finless porpoises.

최근 마이페어 카드(Mifare Card)의 보안 취약점에 대한 문제가 제기되고 있지만 아직도 많은 공기업에서는 비용적인 문제로 인해 카드시스템을 교체하지 못하고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기존 카드시스템을 유지하면서 이에 따른 복제, 도청, 재사용공격 등의 보안 취약점을 극복하는 LBS기반의 안전한 출입통제 프로토콜을 제안한다.
