Exploring Design Opportunities of Digital Platform for Ulsan MBC
Yujin Lee,Kyuwon Cho,Hyeonseo Ha,Seonkyu Lee 한국HCI학회 2024 한국HCI학회 학술대회 Vol.2024 No.1
This paper is part of a project to create a new digital platform that can address the various issues currently faced by Ulsan MBC as a local broadcasting station. The focus of the study is on what barriers Ulsan MBC has faced from the residents’ perspective and what enablers Ulsan MBC could deliver to them. For the study, four methodologies were employed: more specifically, it delves into the user study that concentrated on the value expected to be provided by Ulsan MBC, with a focus on the value of seeking for possible ways to improve the local environment through collaboration with residents, which was identified through preliminary desk research. The paper analyzes each of the user studies and compiles the ideas obtained at each stage through an emergent ideation process. As a result, three ideas emerged during the process, and one digital platform of them was developed. The implications of the results are discussed at the end.
Patome: Database of Patented Bio-sequences
Kim, SeonKyu,Lee, ByungWook Korea Genome Organization 2005 Genomics & informatics Vol.3 No.3
We have built a database server called Patome which contains the annotation information for patented bio-sequences from the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO). The aims of the Patome are to annotate Korean patent bio-sequences and to provide information on patent relationship of public database entries. The patent sequences were annotated with Reference Sequence (RefSeq) or NCBI's nr database. The raw patent data and the annotated data were stored in the database. Annotation information can be used to determine whether a particular RefSeq ID or NCBI's nr ID is related to Korean patent. Patome infrastructure consists of three componentsthe database itself, a sequence data loader, and an online database query interface. The database can be queried using submission number, organism, title, applicant name, or accession number. Patome can be accessed at http://www.patome.net. The information will be updated every two months.
Development of a scalable tabletop display using projection-based light field technology
Shim Hamong,Lee Dongkil,Park Jongbok,Yoon Seonkyu,Kim Hoemin,Kim Kwangsoo,Heo Daerak,Kim Beomjun,Hahn Joonku,Kim Youngmin,Jang Wongun 한국정보디스플레이학회 2021 Journal of information display Vol.22 No.4
We present a light-field display optical system design, state-of-the-art hardware technology, and computational software that are readily scalable (due to their modular structure) and provide naturally immersive and volumetric display systems. We explain the integration of 72 microprojectors into the tabletop display system. In addition, we used 6 workstations for all images and 18 highperformance graphics processing units. Sophisticated image generation through author tooling and the pixel re-arrangement algorithm in the Unity engine enabled us to produce complete threedimensional images from the radiant rays of two-dimensional pixels using diffuser screens and microlens arrays.
