마이코플라즈마 폐렴의 증상은 대체로 경미하거나 자연적 치유 경과를 보이는 것으로 알려져 있으나 보고된 몇 예에서 중증의 경과를 보이는 경우가 있다. 최근에 본 저자가 경험한 환자는 33세의 여성으로서 용혈성 빈혈을 동반한 마이코플라즈마 폐렴으로 진단되었고 입원당시 객담을 동반한 기침과 호흡곤란을 주소로 내원했고, 입원 당시 검사 소견상 혈색소 7.8g/dL, 혈청 한냉응집소 역가가 1:128, 항마이코플라즈마 항체 및 direct coomb's test가 양성이었다. 흉부 방사선 소견상 좌폐 하엽에 대엽성 폐 침윤소견과 흉수액 소견이 관찰되었고 추적 관찰한 한냉응집소 역각가 1:1024로 증가된 소견을 보였다. 이에 용혈성 빈혈이 합병된 마이코플라즈마 폐렴 진단하에 roxithromycin과 2세대 cephalosporin을 2주 동안 투여하여 임상 증상 및 흉부 방사선 소견상 완화 소견을 보여 현재 외래에서 추적 관찰 중이다. Pneumonia caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae (following M. pneumoniae) is manifested as a mild and self-limited. However, several overwhelming cases have been reported. Recently, we experienced a case of M.pneumoniae pneumonia that manifested to hemolytic anemia in a 33-years old woman who was admitted because of cough, sputum and dyspnea. On admission, serum hemoglobin count was 7.8g/dL, hematocrit count was 14.5%, serum cold agglutinins was 1:128, antimycoplasma Ab and direct coomb's test were positive. Lobar consolidation and costophrenic angle blunting at Left lower lung field were visible on initial chest X-ray. Cold agglutinin titer was elevated up to 1:1024. She was treated with roxithromycin and 2nd generation cephalosorin in general ward for 2 weeks. And after this, her clinical condition and chest X-ray findings were recovered and she is following up via outpatient department.

목적: 인공 고관절 전치환술에서 후외측 도달법을 시행할 때 단 외회전근군 복원 후 실패의 빈도와 시기를 조사하였고 탈구와의 관련성을 분석하였다. 대상 및 방법: 2003년 1월부터 2003년 10월까지 시행한 무시멘트 인공 고관절 전치환술을 시행한 환자 48명, 52예를 대상으로 하였다. 남자가 33예, 여자가 19예였으며 평균 연령은 51세이었다. 단 외회전근군 복원 후 단 외회전근군의건과 단 외회전근군의 대전자 부 부착 부위에 2개의 No. 26 강선을 이용하여 표지물로서 고정하였다. 두 강선 사이의 간격은 1.2cm 이하로 하였다. 복원 실패의 기준은 술후 1일, 2주, 3개월에 중립 위치의 고관절 전후면 방사선 소견상두 강선 표지물 사이의 간격이 2.5cm 이상인 경우와 두 강선 표지물 중 1개가 보이지 않을 경우로 하였다. 결과: 술후 1일에 25예(48.1%), 술후 2주에 15예(28.8%), 술후 3개월에 5예(9.6%)의 실패가 일어나 모두 45예(86.5%)의 복원 실패가 일어났다. 단 외회전근군 복원 실패와 상관없이 전례에서 탈구는 발생하지 않았다. 결론: 인공 고관절 전치환술에서 후외측 도달법 사용시 단 외회전근군의 복원은 실패율이 높았으며 탈구 방지에 영향이 적은 것으로 생각되었다. Purpose: To determine the incidence and the time to failure of repaired short external rotator muscles through aposterolateral approach in total hip arthroplasties; and to describe the correlation between failure of the repaired short external rotator muscles and the hip dislocation rate. Materials and Methods: Between January 2003 and October 2003, 51 patients (55 cases) were treated with primary, uncemented total hip arthroplasties. The average patient`s age was 51 years (33 men, 19 women). After the short external rotator muscles were repaired, two 26-gauge wires were stitched as a marker to the abductor tendons and short external rotator tendons. The distance between the two opposing reference points was less than 1.2 cm. The distance between the markers was determined on radiographs that were obtained 1 day, 2 weeks, and 3 months post-operatively. A distance of more than 2.5 cm, or an invisible one, indicated failure. Results: Of a total of 52 repaired short external rotator muscles, 45 (86.5%) failed. Twenty-five(48.1%) failed within the first day, 15 (28.8%) within 2 weeks, and 5 (9.6%) within 3 months post-operatively. Regardless of the time of failure of the repaired short external rotator muscles, postoperative hip dislocations did not occur. Conclusion: The repair of short external rotator muscles after total hip arthroplasties has a high failure rate and contributes little to the prevention of hip dislocations.

In this study, concrete slab with insulation and non-insulated formwork was used to monitor and control its strength using a wireless sensor network with equivalent age method. As a result, the temperature and compressive strength of the structures were monitored without any problems, which revealed a good management tool.
프로세서 구조에 따른 DCT 알고리즘의 구현 성능 비교

본 논문에서는 MPEG 오디오 부호화 과정 중 서브밴드 필터뱅크를 구현하기 위해 사용되는 DCT(Discrete Cosine Transform) 과정에 대해 구현 시스템의 구조에 따른 DCT 알고리즘의 구현 결과와 성능 차이를 분석한다. 고속 DCT 알고리즘은 코사인 계수의 내적을 통해 구하는 직접 구현 방법보다 연산량이 현저하게 적은 것으로 알려져 있지만, 피연산자의 어드레스가 불규칙적이고 출력 데이터를 재정렬하는 과정이 필요하기 때문에 규칙성이 결여되며, 재정렬만을 위한 추가적인 연산이 필요한 경우도 있다. 따라서 DSP와 같이 반복적인 연산을 고속으로 수행하기 위해 최적화된 구조의 하드웨어에서는 알고리즘의 규칙성이 높은 직접 구현 방법에 비해 고속 알고리즘이 불리한 측면이 있으며, 더욱이 유효 자리수를 제한하는 경우, 직접 구현 방법에 비해 더 많은 프로세싱 단계를 거쳐야 하므로 누적 오차가 커진다. 본 논문에서는 알고리즘의 규칙성과 각 프로세서의 연산 방법간의 관계와 유효 자리수에 따른 누적 오차를 분석하고 프로세서의 구조에 따른 고속 알고리즘의 선택 기준을 제시하였다. This paper presents performance and implementation comparisons of standard and fast DCT algorithms that are commonly used for subband filter bank in MPEG audio coders. The comparison is made according to the architectural difference of the implementation hardware. Fast DCT algorithms are known to have much less computational complexity than the standard method that involves computing a vector dot product of cosine coefficient. But, due to structural irregularity, fast DCT algorithms require extra cycles to generate the addresses for operands and to realign interim data. When algorithms are implemented using DSP processors that provide special operations such as single-cycle MAC (multiply-accumulate), zero-overhead nested loop, the standard algorithm is more advantageous than the fast algorithms. Also, in case of the finite-precision processing, the error performance of the standard method is far superior to that of the fast algorithms. In this paper, truncation errors and algorithmic suitability are analyzed and implementation results are provided to support the analysis.

We studied change in water contact angle on $TiO_2$ surfaces upon high-energy electron-beam treatment. Depending on conditions of e-beam exposures, surface OH-content could be increased or decreased. In contrast, water contact angle continuously decreased with increasing e-beam exposure and energy, i.e. change in the water contact angle cannot be rationalized in terms of the overall change in the surfacestructure of carbon-contaminated $TiO_2$. In the C 1s spectra, we found that the C-O and C=O contents gradually increased with increasing e-beam energy, suggesting that the change in the surface structure of carbon layers can be important for understanding of the wettability change. Our results imply that the degree of oxidation of carbon impurity layers on oxide surfaces should be considered, in order to fully understand the change in the oxide surface wettability.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>The aim of this study was to determine whether the exposure to either single or multiple radio‐frequency (RF) radiation frequencies could induce oxidative stress in cell cultures. Exposures of human MCF10A mammary epithelial cells to either a single frequency (837 MHz alone or 1950 MHz alone) or multiple frequencies (837 and 1950 MHz) were conducted at specific absorption rate (SAR) values of 4 W/kg for 2 h. During the exposure period, the temperature in the exposure chamber was maintained isothermally. Intracellular levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS), the antioxidant enzyme activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD), and the ratio of reduced/oxidized glutathione (GSH/GSSG) showed no statistically significant alterations as the result of either single or multiple RF radiation exposures. In contrast, ionizing radiation‐exposed cells, used as a positive control, showed evident changes in all measured biological endpoints. These results indicate that single or multiple RF radiation exposure did not elicit oxidative stress in MCF10A cells under our exposure conditions. <P>L-ascorbic acid 2-phosphate (Asc-2P) acts as an antioxidant and a stimulator of hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) production. Previously, we reported that depletion of growth factors such as fibroblast growth factor (FGF)-2, epidermal growth factor (EGF), FGF-4 and HGF during serial passage could induce autophagy, senescence and down-regulation of stemness (proliferation via FGF-2/-4 and differentiation via HGF). In this study, we investigated the proliferation and differentiation potential of BMSCs by FGF-2 and Asc-2P. Co-treatment with FGF-2 and Asc-2P induced optimal proliferation of BMSCs and increased the accumulation rate of BMSC numbers during a 2-month culture period. Moreover, differentiation potential was maintained by co-treatment with FGF-2 and Asc-2P via HGF expression. Adipogenic differentiation potential by FGF-2 and Asc-2P was dramatically suppressed by c-Met inhibitors (SU11274). These data suggest that co-treatment with FGF-2 and Asc-2P would be beneficial in obtaining BMSCs that possess 'stemness'' during long-term culture.</P>
