        Risk factors of stoma re-creation after closure of diverting ileostomy in patients with rectal cancer who underwent low anterior resection or intersphincteric resection with loop ileostomy

        Purpose: The aim of this study was to identify the risk factors of stoma re-creation after closure of diverting ileostomy in patients with rectal cancer who underwent low anterior resection (LAR) or intersphincteric resection (ISR) with loop ileostomy. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed 520 consecutive patients with rectal cancer who underwent LAR or ISR with loop ileostomy from January 2005 to December 2014 at Chonnam National University Hwasun Hospital. Risk factors for stoma re-creation after ileostomy closure were evaluated. Results: Among 520 patients with rectal cancer who underwent LAR or ISR with loop ileostomy, 458 patients underwent stoma closure. Among these patients, 45 (9.8%) underwent stoma re-creation. The median period between primary surgery and stoma closure was 5.5 months (range, 0.5–78.3 months), and the median period between closure and recreation was 6.8 months (range, 0–71.5 months). Stoma re-creation was performed because of anastomosis-related complications (26, 57.8%), local recurrence (15, 33.3%), and anal sphincter dysfunction (3, 6.7%). Multivariate analysis showed that independent risk factors for stoma re-creation were anastomotic leakage (odds ratio [OR], 4.258; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.814–9.993), postoperative radiotherapy (OR, 3.947; 95% CI, 1.624–9.594), and ISR (OR, 3.293; 95% CI, 1.462–7.417). Conclusion: Anastomotic leakage, postoperative radiotherapy, and ISR were independent risk factors for stoma re-creation after closure of ileostomy in patients with rectal cancer.

        The study was performed to find the cause of high concentration of BOD and algal bloom during winter season at Mulgum in the downstream of Nakdong River since 1995. There was high correlationship between BOD concentration and Chl. a contents which shows that algal bloom makes Autochthonous BOD. The dominant algae during of winter blooming season was Stephanodiscus sp.. This algae maintained the blooming under the condition of low water temperature, long retention time with decrease of flow rate, and abundant nutrient concentration. To reduce the amount of Stephanodiscus sp. biomass, it is important to decrease the loading of TP and TN from the upstream, because of the possible approach to control.

        The purpose of this study was to examine the accessibility and spatial configuration of a cultural and art center in an urban setting using space syntax, this research analyzed the Seoul Arts Center and Its surrounding area, elaborated the built environment and its layouts, and delineated the significance and Implications of the built form In the situated context The research found that the Seoul Arts Center, as a cultural venue, didn't run the full gamut and was not accessible It was noted that the location of the studied building reduced the accessibility, and the core area of the City would be an appropriate alternative location Also, the results indicated that the spatial cognition of the Seoul Arts Center was high and conspicuous, while the interaction with surroundings was weak This qualitative research suggested that the cultural and art center be located in an area that is more accessible and emphasizes the functional integration

        <P>Self-powered energy harvesters utilizing triboelectric effect and electrostatic induction have been widely studied, leading in the materials viewpoint to numerous material pairs for facile charge separation upon repetitive contacts with elaborate topological structures. Here, we present a simple but robust triboelectric platform based on a molecularly engineered surface triboelectric nanogenerator by self-assembled monolayers (METS). Triboelectric surface charge density of a substrate was readily controlled by the variation of end-functional groups of self-assembled monolayers (SAMs). In particular, by employing fluorine terminated SAMs, we are able to develop a METS with the maximum open circuit voltage and short circuit current of 105 V and 27 μA, respectively, under relatively gentle mechanical contacts with the 3N vertical force at 1.25 Hz. The power density of the device was 1.8 W/m<SUP>2</SUP> at the load resistance of 10 MΩ more than 60 times greater than that of an unmodified dielectric/Al device.       • The Glucoamylase Signal Sequence Directs the Efficient Secretion of Human α1-Antitrypsin in Yeast Cells

        Saccharomyces cerevisiae의 acid phosphatase (PH05)와 a-factor (Mfal). Saceharomyces diastaticus의 glucoamylase(STA1). 그리고 인체 알파원앤티트립신 등의 분비 신호서열을 이용한 다섯가지의 분비벡터를 제조하여, 인체 분비단백질인 알파원앤티트립신을 효모에서 효과적으로 분비시킬 수 있었다. 네 가지 벡터가 알파원앤티트립신을 세포밖의 배양액으로 분시시켰으며, 이중 glucoamylase 분비 신호서열을 갖는 pGAT11 벡터의 분비효율이 가장 높아 생성된 단백질의 약 70%가 분비됨을 확인할 수 있었다. Endoglycosidase H 효소를 처리함으로써 분비된 알파원앤티트립신이 N-linked glycosylation되었음을 알 수 있었고, 알파원앤티트립선의 glycosy-lation되는 위치로 알려진 Asn 잔기를 Gln 잔기로 치환한 돌연변이들을 도입하였을 때 glycosylation되지 않음을 보여주었다. Five different secretion vectors were constructed by varying the signal sequences and αl-antitrypsin (αl-AT), a human secretory protein, was produced from yeast cells. The signal sequences used are those of acid phosphatase (PH05) and α-factor (Mfal) of Saccharomyces cerevisiae, glucoamylase (STA1) of Sacharomyces diastaticus. and human αl-AT. Four vectors directed the efficient secretion of αl-AT into the culture media. The secretion vector carrying the glucoamylase signal sequence (pGAT11) showed the highest efficiency of secretion. About 70% of αl-AT produced were secreted into the media. The endo H treatment of partially purified αl-AT indicates that the secreated αl-AT appeared to be glycosylated. This glycosylation pattern was altered when amino acid substitution mutations were introduced at the three glycosylation sites of αl-AT.

        The expriment was conducted to improve fertilization rate, to investigate cultural conditions, to examine the effect of plant growth regulator and malt extract on the somatic embryogenesis and plant regeneration from immature ovule in Citrus junos × Poncirus trifoliata cultured on modified Murashige and Tucker (MT) medium supplemented with different concentration of cytokinins and auxins. The fertilization rate could be increased by stub pollination. The somatic embryo formation from immature ovule was most favorable on modified MT medium supplemented with zeatin 0.01 ㎎/l, IAA 0.01 ㎎/l and malt extract 300-700 ㎎/l. Regeneration of normal plantlet from somatic embryo was stimulated in the treatment of zeatin 1.0 ㎎/l and IAA 0.01 ㎎/l.

      • A 10T-4MTJ Nonvolatile Ternary CAM Cell for Reliable Search Operation and a Compact Area

        <P>Ternary content addressable memory (TCAM) is widely used in high-speed searching applications. Recently, zero standby power has been in high demand for battery-powered devices such as mobile phones, Internet of Things, and wearable devices. Thus, several nonvolatile TCAM (NV-TCAM) cells have been researched to realize zero standby power. However, they suffer from low reliability in search operation. We propose a 10T-4MTJ NV-TCAM cell that significantly improves the reliability of search operation utilizing the differential sensing and positive feedback of cross-coupled PMOSs. The advantages of the proposed cell are verified by HSPICE Monte Carlo simulations using industry-compatible 45-nm model parameters. With a cell area of 2.78 mu m(2) (1.12 times smaller than a SRAM-based TCAM cell) and a search delay of 1 ns, the proposed cell satisfies a target search pass yield of 6 sigma (98.24% yield for an 18-Mb TCAM macro), whereas the previous cells achieved only 3.3 and 3.6 sigma.</P>

        손상정도계수와 외상치를 이용한 외상환자의 분석

        Trauma is one of the most common causes of death. Recently, injury severity score(ISS) is widely used to evaluate and classify the patients with multiple injury. Trauma score(TS) was developed as a means of providing rapid accurate assessment of the injured patient. Authors conducted a review of trauma patients who visited the emergency department of YongDong Severance Hospital from September 1992 to August 1993. ISS and TS were collected from comprehensive initial evaluation. The results were as follows : 1) The subjects were 10.2%(2,666 patients) of total 26,202 emergency patients. 2) Male to female ratio was 2.1 : 1. The age distribution was highest under 10 year(24.9%). The mean ISS was 3.5, and the mean ISS increased with ago. 3. Analysis of injury mechanism showed high incidence of traffic accident(35.3%), blunt trauma 25.7%, fall 24.2%, stabbing 10.7%, and others 4.3% in order. 4. The 8.0% of patients were admitted after initial management and their mean Iss was 12.6 mean TS was 15.5. 5. Among admitted traffic accident patients, the mean ISS of passenger T.A., pedestrian T.A. and driver T.A. were 19.0 ±9.9, 14.4 ±10.6, and 11.3 ±7.7 respectively. 6. Among 42 mortality cases, 25 patients were D.O.A. and 17 were expired. The mean ISS of D.O.A. Patients was 30.0; the mean Iss and mean Iss and mean TS of expired patients were 28.3 and 11.8 respectively. 7. The most common cause of death was head trauma(66.7%). 8. By comparing the ISS and TS of admitted and expired patients, mortality occurred above 16 point of ISS. The mortality increased with increasing ISS, but it was influenced by the trauma site and the severity of the particular injury site. Mortality also occurred below 15 point of TS, the mortality increased inversely with TS, and the mortality with TS, and the mortality was high below 13 point (above 40%).
