Zhao, Jing-Yi,Ma, Xue-Lei,Li, Yan-Yan,Zhang, Bing-Lan,Li, Min-Min,Ma, Xue-Lei,Liu, Lei Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.8
Objective: Fluorine-18-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography (18F-FDG-PET) is a new technique for identifying different malignant tumors using different uptake values between tumor cells and normal tissues. Here we assessed the diagnostic accuracy of 18F-FDG-PET in patients with testicular cancer by pooling data of existing trials in a meta-analysis. Methods: PubMed/MEDLINE, Embase and Cochrane Central Trials databases were searched and studies published in English relating to the diagnostic value of FDG-PET for testicular cancer were collected. The summary receiver operating characteristic (SROC) curve was used to examine the FDG-PET accuracy. Results: A total of 16 studies which included 957 examinations in 807 patients (median age, 31.1 years) were analyzed. A meta-analysis was performed to combine the sensitivity and specificity and their 95% confidence intervals (CIs), from diagnostic odds ratio (DOR), positive likelihood ratios (PLR), negative likelihood ratio (NLR). SROC were derived to demonstrate the diagnostic accuracy of FDG-PET for testicular cancer. The pooled sensitivity and specificity were 0.75 (95% confidence interval (CI), 0.70-0.80) and 0.87 (95% CI, 0.84-0.89), respectively. The pooled DOR was 35.6 (95% CI, 12.9-98.3). The area under the curve (AUC) was 0.88. The pooled PLR and pooled NLR were 7.80 (95% CI, 3.73-16.3) and 0.31 (95% CI, 0.23-0.43), respectively. Conclusion: In patients with testicular cancer, 18F-FDG-PET demonstrated a high SROC area, and could be a potentially useful tool if combined with other imaging methods such as MRI and CT. Nevertheless, the literature focusing on the use of 18F-FDG-PET in this setting still remains limited.

Zhao, Ming-Gao,Toyoda, Hiroki,Lee, Yong-Seok,Wu, Long-Jun,Ko, Shanelle W.,Zhang, Xue-Han,Jia, Yongheng,Shum, Fanny,Xu, Hui,Li, Bao-Ming,Kaang, Bong-Kiun,Zhuo, Min Elsevier 2005 Neuron Vol.47 No.6

Summary

Cortical plasticity is thought to be important for the establishment, consolidation, and retrieval of permanent memory. Hippocampal long-term potentiation (LTP), a cellular mechanism of learning and memory, requires the activation of glutamate N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptors. In particular, it has been suggested that NR2A-containing NMDA receptors are involved in LTP induction, whereas NR2B-containing receptors are involved in LTD induction in the hippocampus. However, LTP in the prefrontal cortex is less well characterized than in the hippocampus. Here we report that the activation of the NR2B and NR2A subunits of the NMDA receptor is critical for the induction of cingulate LTP, regardless of the induction protocol. Furthermore, pharmacological or genetic blockade of the NR2B subunit in the cingulate cortex impaired the formation of early contextual fear memory. Our results demonstrate that the NR2B subunit of the NMDA receptor in the prefrontal cortex is critically involved in both LTP and contextual memory.

Min Liu,Yanru Xue,Yang Zhao,Huiling Guo 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Future Generation Communi Vol.8 No.3
As an important indicator of evaluating network performance, network delay can reflect the transmission performance of the current path and also the service level provided by the opposite terminal host. In the paper, analysis is first conducted on the composition of network delay; besides, through Ping measuring method, Ping measuring network delay experiment is conducted on different destination hosts of local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN). Besides, the distribution features of network delay as time changes is analyzed, while the influence of data package (in terms of the size) on network delay will be explored in the paper. After the process, the definition, along with the distinguishing method of the self-similarity process is introduced, and self-similarity distinguishing is rendered on network delay through the variance-time plot. According to analysis result, network delay is featured by strong nonlinearity and self-similarity. Compared with LAN, WAN is endowed with higher long-range dependency.
A Hybrid Double Self-lift Switched-Coupled Inductor Quasi-Z-Source Inverter
Huang Dong,Xue Pengfei,Chen Guang,Zhang Chaozhong,Zhao Chang,Huang Yuchen,Ding Xinping,Zhang Min 대한전기학회 2022 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.17 No.4
A hybrid double self-lift switch-coupled-inductor quasi-Z-source inverter (HDSCL-qZSI) is proposed in this paper. The voltage boost capability is higher and the voltage and current stress on components are lower than the existing quasi-Z-source topologies. Owing to the strong current handling ability and step-down coupled-inductor, the magnetic elements are smaller than that of mSSCL-qZSI and SCL-qZSI whose structure are similar to that of HDCSL-qZSI. The operation principles, comparisons of voltage and current stress on components and the size of magnetic elements are analyzed theoretically. Finally, the eff ectiveness of the proposed HDSCL-qZSI was validated by a 1 kW prototype fabricated in the laboratory.
Effect of Blending Modifications for Phenylethynyl-terminated Polyimides
Ping Yu,Min-zhao Xue,Yan-gang Liu,Xue Yang,Li-jing Pan,Yan-li Zhang,Wei Wang 한국섬유공학회 2020 Fibers and polymers Vol.21 No.2
A reactive diluent (ODA-PEPA) and a flexible phenylethynyl-terminated imide oligomer (PEI-PEPA) were designed and synthesized based on the 2,3,3',4'-diphenyl ether tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride (a-ODPA), 3,4'-oxydianiline(3,4'-ODA), and 4-phenylethynylphthalic anhydride (PEPA). Solution blended systems with the addition of 5, 10, and 15 wt% ODA-PEPA to PEI-PEPA oligomer and their cured resin systems were prepared. Results showed that ODA-PEPA is semi-crystalline in nature. The Tg values of cured resins were improved from 273 oC to 280 oC by the addition of ODA-PEPA, due to the higher crosslink densities. In addition, rheological properties of blends showed lower melt viscosity and wider processing window, revealing improved melt processabilities for potential application in making advanced composites. The isothermal viscosity in 280 oC of PEI-PEPA containing 15 wt% ODA-PEPA reactive diluent decreased by two thirds, due to the low molecular weight of ODA-PEPA. The cured blends demonstrated high thermal stability and heat resistance. 5 wt% thermal decomposition temperatures (Td5) of the cured blends were above 549 oC and 547 oC in N2 and air atmosphere, respectively. The char yield reported at 800 oC in N2 atmosphere increased from 58.8% to 63.7 % with the addition of ODAPEPA. Meanwhile, the cured polyimides blends possessed good bond strength (> 9.3 MPa).

Purpose Capecitabine is an extensively used oral prodrug of 5-fluorouracil in treatment of colon cancer and is known to cause hand-foot syndrome (HFS). As the target enzyme for capecitabine, thymidylate synthase (TYMS) plays a key role for 5-fluorouracil metabolism and has been associated with some side effects caused by capecitabine. The aim of our study is to identify the possible genetic predictors of capecitabine-induced HFS (CAP-HFS) in Chinese colorectal cancer patients.Materials and Methods Whole exons of TYMS were sequenced for 288 extreme phenotype HFS patients, including 144 severe or early-onset (first 2 cycles) moderate HFS extreme cases and 144 extreme controls with no reported HFS. The associations between polymorphisms and CAP-HFS were analyzed using logistic regression under an additive model. Results We identified a novel risk mutation (c.1A>G, chr18:657743), was associated with severe HFS in an extreme case who was affected during the first cycle of treatment. Moreover, we identified three new variants, rs3786362, rs699517, rs2790, and two previously reported variants, 5’VNTR 2R/3R and 3′-untranslated region 6-bp ins-del, which were significantly associated with CAP-HFS (p < 0.05). In silico analysis revealed that the effect of these polymorphisms in the TYMS region on the development of HFS might not be restricted solely to the regulation of TYMS expression, but also the TYMS catalytic activity through the indirect effect on ENOSF1 expression. Conclusion This study identified new polymorphisms in TYMS gene significantly associated with CAP-HFS, which may serve as useful genetic predictors for CAP-HFS and help to elucidate the underlying mechanism of HFS.

Wang, De-Lin,Lan, Jian-Hua,Chen, Liang,Huang, Biao,Li, Zeng,Zhao, Xiu-Min,Ma, Qiang,Sheng, Xia,Li, Wen-Bin,Tang, Wei-Xue Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2012 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.13 No.6
The aim of this study was to elucidate the role of the integrin-linked kinase (ILK) gene in development of human bladder transitional cell carcinoma (BTCC). Expression of ILK protein and ILK mRNA in 56 cases of human BTCC tissue and in 30 cases of adjacent normal bladder tissue was detected by immunohistochemistry S-P and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), respectively. Four specific miRNA RNAi vectors targeting human ILK were synthesized and transfected into BIU-87 cells by liposome to obtain stable expression cell strains. The influence of ILK on proliferation of BTCC was detected by MTT, FCM on athymic mouse tumorigenesis. The positive rate of ILK protein in BTCC tissue (53.6%) was much higher than adjacent normal bladder tissue (10.0%) (p<0.05). Similarly, expression of ILK mRNA in BTCC tissue ($0.540{\pm}0.083$) was significantly higher than in adjacent normal bladder tissue ($0.492{\pm}0.070$) (p<0.05). MTT showed that the proliferation ability of miRNA-ILK transfected group was clearly decreased (p<0.05), the cell cycle being arrested in G0/G1-S, an tumorigenesis in vivo was also significantly reduced (p<0.05). ILK gene transcription and protein expression may be involved in the development of BTCC, so that ILK might be the new marker for early diagnosis and the new target for gene treatment.

Genotoxicity and effect on early stage proliferation of osteoprogenitor cells of titanium surfaces modified by heptylamine functionalization through Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition (PECVD) were evaluated in current study. Mouse embryo osteoprogenitor MC3T3-E1 cells were grown on titanium surfaces of all the groups. The CCK-8 assay showed the growths of MC3T3-E1 cells on treated titanium disks were not inhibited compared with those on pure titanium groups. Result of Single Cell Gel Electrophoresis (SCGE) test indicated the treated groups showed no significant differences in tail length, tail DNA%, and tail moment compared with pure titanium group. Rate of micronucleus, nucleoplamic buds and nuclear blebs showed no significant differences between treated groups and pure titanium group. Our research exhibited that: The amino-group functionalized titanium surface has neither genotoxicity nor detrimental effects on early-stage proliferation towards osteoprogenitor cells in vitro, thus offer a theoretic support for the clinical use of such functionalized titanium as implant surface.
Functional Roles of Exosomes in Allergic Contact Dermatitis
Song Bocui,Chen Qian,Li Yuqi,Zhan Shuang,Zhao Rui,Shen Xue,Liu Min,Tong Chunyu 한국미생물·생명공학회 2022 Journal of microbiology and biotechnology Vol.32 No.12
Allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) is an allergen-specific T-cell-mediated inflammatory response, albeit with unclear pathogenesis. Exosomes are nanoscale extracellular vesicles secreted by several cell types and widely distributed in various biological fluids. Exosomes affect the occurrence and development of ACD through immunoregulation among other ways. Nevertheless, the role of exosomes in ACD warrants further clarification. This review examines the progress of research into exosomes and their involvement in the pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of ACD and provides ideas for exploring new diagnostic and treatment methods for this disease.
