        2010년 이후 중문학계(中文學界) 반패주(潘佩珠) 연구 성과에 대한 고찰 - 반패주(潘佩珠) 관련 조직과 인물의 재중국 활동 양상과 더불어

        潘佩珠는 근대 베트남 민족운동의 중요 지도자이자 근대 동아시아의 중요한 지식인으로, 각국 각지의 학술계에서 주목해온 인물로 관련된 연구성과가 꾸준히 축적되어왔다. 필자는 이번에 2010년부터 2017년까지 중문학계의 潘佩珠 연구를 개괄하고, 몇 가지 구체적인 예를 통해 潘佩珠연구에서 더욱 확장되고 심화될 만한 것을 설명하였다. 예컨대 새로 발견된 潘佩珠의 『聯亞蒭言』의 내용을 검토했다. 다른 한편으로는 潘佩珠의 행위와 그 배후, 또 그와 관련된 인물들에 대해서도 추적을 하였다. 이러한 논의는 潘佩珠와 관련 인물들의 생활조건, 저술과 실행의 뒤에 있는 감정 등을 탐구하는데 생산적인 도움이 될 것이다. 뿐만 아니라, 潘佩珠와 동아시아의 혁명가 또는 지식인들 사이의 교류를 검토함에 있어서도 하나의 지침이 될 수 있을 것이다. Phan Boi Chau was an important leader of the modern Vietnamese national movement and a central intellectual in modern East Asia. Therefore, he has been attracting attention in the global academia and the researches related to Phan Boi Chau have been steadily generated the results. This paper was written to introduce the overview of China’s research results on Phan Boi Chau from 2010 to 2017, and it explained the contents that could be further expanded and deepened of the Phan Boi Chau research through several detailed examples. For instance, this paper reviewed the contents of the newly discovered Phan Boi Chau’s book, LienASoNgon, and tracked the Phan Boi Chau’s actions, his background, and the people involved with him. The discussion will be productive in researching about Phan Boi Chau and the people related to him in aspect of the living conditions, the feelings beneath the writings, and the emotion reflected on their behavior. In addition, it can be a guide to examine the interaction between Phan Boi Chau and revolutionaries or intellectuals in East Asia.

        MiR-214 inhibits apoptosis in thyroid epithelial follicular cells induced by amiodarone through the FASL/MAPK pathway

        Background Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT), also known as chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis, is one of the most common autoimmune disease (AITD) in clinical practice. It is urgent to explore the mechanism of amiodarone-induced thyroid dysfunction. Objective This study aims to assess the expression levels of miR-214 and FasL in amiodarone contact type of HT, and the effect of miR-214 on cell viability and apoptosis and potential mechanism. Results We found that miR-214 was low expressed in the tissues of amiodarone-treated thyroiditis patients. MiR-214 increased the survival rate of amiodarone-induced thyroid epithelial follicular cells and inhibited apoptosis. Mechanically, we found that miR-214 could bind to FASL and regulate MAPK signaling pathway through FASL. Conclusions Our results suggested that miR-214 could be a potential therapeutic target for Hashimoto's thyroiditis.

      • An improved algorithm for pile damage localization based on complex continuous wavelet transform

        Since the complex continuous wavelet transform (CCWT) based pile damage detection method is empirical and subjective, an improved algorithm for pile damage localization based on CCWT is proposed by introducing K-means clustering and fast Fourier transform (FFT). In this method, the K-means clustering algorithm is used to accurately calculate the time coordinates of two energy concentrating points caused by the incident and reflected waves, respectively. Meanwhile, FFT is employed to estimate the concerned frequency band of the response signal. Therefore, a specific region in the time frequency plane is defined objectively and it can be used to search the phase angle turning points and localize pile damage. The proposed method is verified by numerical examples of piles with single and multiple damage positions. A parameter analysis is also conducted to investigate how damage depth and damage degree in piles affect the accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed method. The results demonstrate that the proposed method is able to localize a pile with a damage at least 2.5 m away from the pile head when the damage degree is as less as 5%. After that, dynamic tests of an actual square reinforced concrete pile and an actual circular reinforced concrete pile are investigated to verify the application of the proposed method on practical engineering. Although the proposed method is capable of localizing actual piles more accurately than the CCWT method, the problem of interference points needs to be addressed by mutual verification with other pile damage localization methods.

        Seismic Stability of 3D Tunnel Face Considering Tensile Strength Cut-off

        Earthquakes can have a very adverse effect on tunnel excavation. The Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion is modified by introducing tensile strength cut-off, which allows nonlinear strength reduction of soil under tensile conditions, and kinematic analysis of tunnel face subjected to the earthquake is carried out. The pseudo-dynamic method is adopted to simulate the earthquake with the acceleration varying with time and space, improving the accuracy of the simulation. The external power and internal energy dissipation rate are equal to obtain the expression of tunnel face support pressure under the limit analysis framework. And the most unfavorable tunnel face support pressure is optimized by using the method of exhaustion. Compared with other research results, the validity of this method is proved. The influence of soil parameters and pseudo-dynamic parameters on the critical support pressure is revealed by further parameter analysis. Finally, this study provides an effective reference for seismic design of tunnel engineering construction.

        ORiginal Article : Tryptase and Protease-Activated Receptor 2 Expression Levels in Irritable Bowel Syndrome

        Background/Aims: Previous studies have revealed that mast cells (MCs) may activate the protease-activated receptors and release of neuropeptides involved in the pathogenesis of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The levels of proteaseactivated receptor 2 (PAR-2) and tryptase can contribute to understanding the pathogenesis of IBS. Methods: Colonoscopic biopsies were performed of 38 subjects (20 with IBSdiarrhea [IBS-D], eight with IBS-constipation [IBS-C], and 10 healthy volunteers). The mRNA and protein levels of tryptase and PAR-2 were assessed by real-time PCR and Western blot. The levels of vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP), substance P (SP), and calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) were measured by immunohistochemistry, and MCs were counted by toluidine blue staining. Results: Significant increases in the mRNA expression of tryptase (p<0.05, IBS-D, IBS-C vs control) and PAR-2 (p<0.05, IBS-D, IBS-C vs control) and in the tryptase protein level (p<0.05, IBS-D, IBS-C vs control) were detected in IBS. Elevations of MCs, CGRP, VIP and SP (p<0.05, IBS-D vs control) were observed for IBS-D only. Conclusions: Tryptase levels may upregulate the function of PAR- 2, resulting in the release of neuropeptide and they were correlated with clinical symptoms associated with IBS.         Carotid Plaque Stiffness Measured with Supersonic Shear Imaging and Its Correlation with Serum Homocysteine Level in Ischemic Stroke Patients

        Objective: To ascertain the feasibility of using shear wave velocity (SWV) in assessing the stiffness of carotid plaque by supersonic shear imaging (SSI) and explore preliminary clinical value for such evaluation. Materials and Methods: Supersonic shear imaging was performed in 142 patients with ischemic stroke, including 76 males and 66 females with mean age of 66 years (range, 45–80 years). The maximum, minimum, and mean values of SWV were measured for 129 carotid plaques. SWVs were compared between echolucent and echogenic plaques. Correlations between SWVs and serum homocysteine levels were investigated. Based on neurological symptom, the surrogate marker of vulnerable plaque (VP), binary logistic regression was performed and area under curve (AUC) of homocysteine only and homocysteine combing SWVmean was calculated respectively. Results: Echogenic plaques (n = 51) had higher SWVs than echolucent ones (n = 78) (SWVmin 3.91 [3.24−4.17] m/s vs. 1.51 [1.04−1.94] m/s; SWVmean, 4.29 [3.98−4.57] m/s vs. 2.09 [1.69−2.41] m/s; SWVmax, 4.67 [4.33−4.86] m/s vs. 2.62 [2.32−3.31] m/s all p values < 0.01). Pearson correlation analysis showed that stiffness of plaques was negatively correlated with homocysteine level. R values for SWVmin, SWVmean, and SWVmax were -0.205, -0.213, and -0.199, respectively. Binary logistic regression analysis showed that sex (p = 0.008), low-density lipoprotein (p = 0.015), triglycerides (p = 0.011), SWVmean (p = 0.004), and hyper-homocysteinemia (p = 0.010) were significantly associated with symptomatic ischemic stroke. Receiver operating characteristic curves revealed that SWVmean combing serum homocysteine level (AUC = 0.67) presented better diagnostic value than serum homocysteine only (AUC = 0.60) for symptomatic ischemic stroke. Conclusion: Supersonic shear imaging could be used to quantitatively evaluate stiffness of both echolucent and echogenic carotid plaques. More importantly, SWVs of plaques were not only correlated to serum homocysteine level, but also associated with symptomatic ischemic stroke, suggesting that SSI might be useful for understanding more about VP.

        Smads, p38 and ERK1,2 are involved in BMP9-induced osteogenic differentiation of C3H10T1,2 mesenchymal stem cells

        Although previous studies have demonstrated that BMP9 is highly capable of inducing osteogenic differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells, the molecular mechanism involved remains to be fully elucidated. In this study, we showed that BMP9 simultaneously promotes the activation of Smad1/5/8, p38 and ERK1/2 in C3H10T1/2 cells. Knockdown of Smad4 with RNA interference reduced nuclear translocation of Smad1/5/8, and disrupted BMP9-induced osteogenic differentiation. BMP9-induced osteogenic differentiation was blocked by p38 inhibitor SB203580, whereas enhanced by ERK1/2 inhibitor PD98059. SB203580 decreased BMP9-activated Smads singling, and yet PD98059 stimulated Smads singling in C3H10T1/2 cells. The effects of inhibitor were reproduced with adenovirus expressing siRNA targeted p38 and ERK1/2, respectively. Taken together, our findings revealed that Smads, p38 and ERK1/2 are involved in BMP9-induced osteogenic differentiation. Also, it is noteworthy that p38 and ERK1/2 may play opposing regulatory roles in mediating BMP9-induced osteogenic differentiation of C3H10T1/2 cells. [BMB reports 2012; 45(4): 247-252]

        Isolation of L-theanine from Tea Solution by Cation Exchange Resin in Batch and Fixed Bed Column

        L-Theanine, a bioactive compound in tea, was isolated from tea solution using cation exchange resin no.732. The adsorption of L-theanine by cation exchange resin no.732 fit the Langmuir isotherm model and was a monolayer molecular interaction process. Thermodynamic studies revealed that the adsorption of L-theanine by resin no.732 was an exothermic and spontaneous physically driven process. The adsorption capacity was influenced by temperature, initial concentration, and pH. The L-theanine adsorption capacity under conditions at room temperature,pH 4.73, and initial L-theanine concentration 18 g/L was 241.731 ± 3.679 mg/g. The Thomas model was fit to describe the column adsorption data at different flow rates and initial concentrations. The L-theanine adsorbed by resin no.732 could be desorbed by 0.134 mol/L Na2HPO4aqueous solution with a recovery rate of 84.96%. These findings indicate that resin no.732 was a promising material for isolating L-theanine from tea solution.
