High-energy protons are generated with a 3-μm-thick tantalum target irradiated with a highintensity laser under the preformed plasma condition. We observe the electron density distributions of preformed plasmas with two-color probe beams as interferometers. The preformed plasma at the front side of the target is generated by pre-pulses of a high-intensity Ti:sapphire laser. In this preformed plasma condition, the maximum proton enegy is 900 keV. The half angle of the generated proton beam (>500 keV) is about 10.
REVIEW AND FUTURE ISSUES ON SPENT NUCLEAR FUEL STORAGE
Saegusa, T.,Shirai, K.,Arai, T.,Tani, J.,Takeda, H.,Wataru, M.,Sasahara, A.,Winston, P.L. Korean Nuclear Society 2010 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.42 No.3
The safety of metal cask and concrete cask storage technology has been verified by CRIEPI through several research programs on demonstrative testing for the interim storage of spent fuel. The results have been reflected in the safety requirements for dry casks issued by NISA/METI (Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) of the Japanese government. On top of that, spent fuel integrity has been studied by the Japan Nuclear Energy Safety Organization (JNES). This paper reviews these research programs. Future issues include the long-term integrity of cask components and high burn-up spent fuel.

This paper presents the voltage source type half bridge lossless auxiliary inductor snubber assisted series capacitor compensated resonant high frequency inverter for induction heated fixing roller in copy machines This high-frequency inverter treated here can completely achieve zero current soft switching (ZCS) commutation for wide power regulation range under its constant frequency pulse density modulation (PDM) scheme Its transient and steady-state operating principle is originally presented for a constant frequency PDM control strategy under a ZCS operation commutation, together with its output effective power regulation characteristics-based on the PDM strategy The experimental operating performances of this ZCS-PDM high frequency inverter using IGBTs are illustrated as compared with computer Simulation ones Its power losses and actual efficiency are evaluated and discussed on the basis of Simulation and experimental results.<br/>

ZnO nanoparticles suspended in poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) were deposited onto layer-by-layer (LBL)polyelectrolyte (PET) films fabricated from poly(allylamine hydrochloride) (PAH) and PAA by dip coating method. Effect of etching time and concentration of ZnO suspension on hydrophilicity of the LBL-PET films before and after UV irradiation was examined using water contact angle measurement. 2.0 M PAH/PAA solutions with a dipping speed of 3.0 cm/min provided stable LBL-PET films with thickness sufficient for HCl etching. Glass substrates with the etched LBL-PET film dipped into 0.2 wt.% ZnO suspension exhibited the contact angle of 108 after irradiated by UV for 60 min.
