        An intelligent method to design die profile for rubber forming of complex curved flange part

        Rubber forming is an important forming process for the manufacture of aircraft sheet metal parts. The springback is one of the main defects in rubber forming. Classical springback compensation by displacement adjustment method using finite simulation is not satisfactory. In this research, the algorithms of compensating the arc and flange surface of complex curved flange with correction formula are proposed by experiment. The correction formula was developed based on the CATIA V5 R19 using Component Application Architecture. Compensate profile is presented including surface pick up, line pick up, division, compensation, extending, and trimming. The die profile of part with complex curved flanges in aircraft could be designed rapidly. It was found that the forming pressure has a little effect on the springback. This is within the tolerance limits of the part. The results reveal the method can achieve the industrial part precisely. The method is demonstrated on an aircraft wing rib part.

        중국 사회과학원 아ㆍ태경제연구소의 책임자이며, “10+3”(ASEAN+한국, 중국, 일본) 경제장관회의에서 발족된“동아시아 FTA의 타당성 연구를 위한 합동전문가그룹(Joint Experts Group for Feasibility Studies of the East Asian FTA : JEG)”의장으로 활동 중인 Zhang Yunling 소장은 동아시아 FTA의 미래 구상과 관련하여, 현재 진행 중인 ASEAN-중국, ASEAN-한국, ASEAN-일본 간 FTA 협정을 조속히 완결시켜야 하며, 한-중-일간 FTA 협상은 아직 정치적 토대가 미흡하다고 평가하고 있다. 각각의 “10+1”이 타결되어도 세분화된 협정들이 또 다른 무역장벽이 될 수 있기 때문에, 아예 “10+3”가 참여하는 동아시아 FTA를 직접 조속히 추진하는 것이 바람직하다고 주장한다. 일본이 주장하는“10+6”(10+3+인도, 호주, 뉴질랜드)는 시기 시기상조이며 협상을 어렵게 할 것이라고 하면서, 동아시아FTA는 최소한 10년이 걸리기 때문에 조속히 추진해야 APEC 보고르선언이 제시한 목표와도 시간을 맞출 수 있고, 앞으로 북미 국가들을 포함시키는 아ㆍ태자유무역협정의 토대를 만들 수도 있다고 한다. 중국경제와 관련해서는, 중국경제의 과열과 지나친 투자 및 수출 위주 경제의 위험성에 중국정부가 강력하게 대처해 나가고 있으나 지방정부를 통제하는데 어려움이 있음을 토로하고 있다. 그러나 전반적으로 적절히 대처해야할 문제들은 있지만 큰 위험은 없을 것이라고 설명했다. 위안화의 절상요구에 대해서는 지금까지 유동화조치를 상당히 취해왔고, 중국 경제구조의 특성을 감안할 때 반드시 저평가는 아닐 수 있다고 옹호하면서 점진적이고 관리가능한 절상이 바람직하다고 언급하였다. 북한의 핵실험에 관련하여, 북한에 대한 제재는 필요하지만 압박 일변도로 가는 것은 효과적이지 못하며 무력충돌을 일으킬 위험이 있는 만큼, 인내를 가지고 다각적인 방안을 강구하는 것이 중국 정부의 입장이라고 하였다. 또한 햇볕정책은 남북 간 교류를 통하여 상당기간 평화를 가져왔기 때문에 개인적으로 이를 지지하며, 한국은 조속한 대가를 기대하지 말고 인내해줄 것을 권고하였다. 중국 동북공정으로 인한 우려에 대하서는, 순수한 역사연구에 불과하므로 한국 국민들이 정치적으로 해석해서 민감할 이유가 없다고 하면서, 학자들은 다른 견해를 가질 수 있으며 학문적 교류가 바람직하다고 설명하였다.

        De novo assembly and characterization of antennal transcriptome reveal chemosensory system in Nysius ericae

        Chemosensory system plays important roles in insect behaviors, some key genes governing chemosensation can potentially be used as novel targets for pest control. Nysius ericae (Hemiptera: Lygaeidae) is a polyphagous insect pest found throughout Eurasia countries which causes damage to many important crops. Little is known about the chemosensory mechanisms of host location and mate choice in N. ericae at themolecular level. Here, we assembled the antennal transcriptome of N. ericae using Illumina sequencing technology. Analysis of the transcriptome data identified 148 candidate chemosensory genes, including 28 for odorant binding proteins (OBPs), 16 for chemosensory proteins (CSPs), 2 for sensory neuron membrane proteins (SNMPs), 83 odorant receptors (ORs), 12 ionotropic receptors (IRs), and 7 gustatory receptors (GRs). Our results greatly improve the gene inventory for N. ericae and provide valuable resources for analyzing the functions of some key genes. This information will aid in the development of better understanding of chemosensation in N. ericae, and indicate novel targets for managing its impact on agriculture.         In-situ synthesis of ZrC@ZrO2 core-shell high temperature thermal insulation nanopowders by precipitation method

        ZrC (shell) and ZrO2 (core) (ZrC@ZrO2) core-shell nanopowders were in-situ synthesized by precipitating method usingzirconium dioxide (ZrO2) and sucrose (C12H22O11). C12H22O11 was selected since it can be completely decomposed to carbon. Thus, carbon might be accounted precisely for the carbothermal reduction reaction. The ZrC@ZrO2 core-shell nanopowderswere obtained with a molar ratio of C / Zr = 2 for the starting materials at 1500 oC for 2 hrs. The SEM photomicrographreveals that ZrC@ZrO2 core-shell particles had an equiaxed morphology with a high surface rough. Furthermore, the sizedistribution of the particles was around 100 nm in diameter. Additionally, in the case of either C / Zr (mol.) > 1 or pyrolyzingtemperature above 1400 oC, the thickness of ZrC shell could be increased. Moreover, the HR-TEM showed that thenanopowders possessed core-shell structure with ZrO2 core and ZrC shell, and the thickness of ZrC was about 10 nmcarbothermally reduced at 1500 oC for 2 hrs with a molar ratio of C / Zr = 2

        Demethylation of CpG islands in the 5` upstream regions mediates the expression of the human testis-specific gene MAGEB16 and its mouse homolog Mageb16

        Tissue-specific gene expression is regulated by epigenetic modification involving trans-acting factors. Here, we identified that the human MAGEB16 gene and its mouse homolog, Mageb16, are only expressed in the testis. To investigate the mechanism governing their expression, the promoter methy-lation status of these genes was examined in different samples. Two CpG islands (CGIs) in the 5` upstream region of MAGEB16 were highly demethylated in human testes, whereas they were methylated in cells without MAGEB16 expression. Similarly, the CGI in Mageb16 was hypomethylated in mouse testes but hypermethylated in other tissues and cells without Mageb16 expression. Additionally, the expression of these genes could be activated by treatment with the demethylation agent 5`-aza-2`- deoxycytidine (5`-aza-CdR). Luciferase assays revealed that both gene promoter activities were inhibited by methylation of the CGI regions. Therefore, we propose that the testis-specific expression of MAGEB16 and Mageb16 is regulated by the methylation status of their promoter regions. [BMB Reports 2014; 47(2): 86-91]

        Comparative Proteomic Analysis of Changes in the Bovine Whey Proteome during the Transition from Colostrum to Milk

        Bovine whey protein expression patterns of colostrum are much different from that of milk. Moreover, bovine colostrum is an important source of protective, nutritional and developmental factors for the newborn. However, to our knowledge, no research has been performed to date using a comparative proteomic method on the changes in the bovine whey proteome during the transition from colostrum to milk. This study therefore separated whey protein of days 1, 3, 7 and 21 after calving using two dimension electrophoresis. Differentially expressed proteins at different collection times were identified using high-performance liquid chromatography in tandem with mass spectrometry (LC/MS) and validated by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) in order to understand the developmental changes in the bovine whey proteome during the transition from colostrum to milk. The expression patterns of whey protein of days 1 and 3 post-partum were similar except that immunoglobulin G was down-regulated on day 3, and four proteins were found to be down-regulated on days 7 and 21 compared with day 1 after delivering, including immunoglobulin G, immunoglobulin M, albumin, and lactotransferrin, which are involved in immunity and molecule transport. The results of this study confirm the comparative proteomic method has the advantage over other methods such as ELISA and immunoassays in that it can simultaneously detect more differentially expressed proteins. In addition, the difference in composition of milk indicates a need for adjustment of the colostrum feeding regimen to ensure a protective immunological status for newborn calves.

      • Association of the PSCA rs2294008 C>T Polymorphism with Gastric Cancer Risk: Evidence from a Meta-Analysis

        Background: Multiple studies have reported associations between the PSCA rs2294008 C > T polymorphism and GC, but susceptibility has proven inconsistent. Therefore, we estimates the relationship between the rs2294008 C > T polymorphism and GC by meta-analysis. Methods: PubMed, Embase and Web of Science databases were searched and nine independent case-control studies were included in this meta-analysis. Crude ORs with 95% CIs were extracted according to the Mantal-Haenszel method and pooled to assess the strength of the association. Results: We observed that the PSCA rs2294008 C > T polymorphism was significantly correlated with GC risk when all studies were pooled into the meta-analysis. Further subgroup analysis showed the polymorphism to be linked with diffuse and noncardia GC in the allele contrast model, homozygote codominant model, dominant model, and recessive model. However, no connection was apparent for intestinal and cardia GC. In the stratified analysis by ethnicity, significant associations were observed in Asians for the recessive model. Interestingly, the relationship was particularly significant in the Chinese population. Conclusions: Our findings suggest that the PSCA rs2294008 C > T polymorphism is a risk factor for GC, especially in diffuse and noncardia GC and in Chinese.

        Falcine Sinus: Incidence and Imaging Characteristics of Three-Dimensional Contrast-Enhanced Thin-Section Magnetic Resonance Imaging

        Objective: To evaluate the incidence, characteristics, and variations of the falcine sinus with contrast-enhanced threedimentional (3D) thin-section magnetic resonance (MR) images. Materials and Methods: A retrospective review identified 1531 patients (745 males and 786 females, 2 months to 85 years) who underwent cranial MR imaging including T1-weighted imaging, T2-weighted imaging, T2-weighted fluid-attenuated inversion recovery, contrast-enhanced 3D thin-section sagittal scans, and MR venography, from June 2014 to January 2016. The incidence, characteristics of the falcine sinus, and coexisted intracranial lesions were confirmed by two neuroradiologists. Results: Falcine sinuses were identified in 81 (38 males and 43 females) cases (5.3%, 81/1531, 5 months to 76 years of age) with calibers ranging from 2.3 mm to 17.0 mm. Three major forms of falcine sinuses were defined: arch-like (n = 47), stick-like (n = 22), and bifurcated (n = 12). Persistent falcine sinuses were found in 57 cases, among which 3 cases showed complicated cerebral anomalies, and 2 cases showed smaller straight sinuses. Recanalization of falcine sinuses were found in 24 cases, including 17 cases with tumor compression, 6 cases with cerebral venous sinus thrombosis, and one case with hypertrophic meningitis. Conclusion: Falcine sinus is not as rare as has been reported previously. Most falcine sinuses are not associated with congenital cerebral abnormalities. Diseases that cause increased pressure in the venous sinus may lead to recanalization of falcine sinus. Illustrating the characteristics of falcine sinus may prompt a more comprehensive understanding and diagnosis of associated diseases, and avoid potential surgical damage in the future.
