우리나라의 항생제 남용 문제는 세계적으로 심각 하다고 한다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해서 정부는 다양한 정책을 도입하고 있으며 특히 축산물의 항생제 남용 문제를 해결하기위해 사료 관리법을 강화하여 항생제 사용을 억제하고 있어 항생제를 대체 할 물질이 필요하다. 이런 문제를 해결하기 위해서 우리나라의 다양한 해조류를 이용한 항생제 개발을 통해서 항생제 남용 문제를 해결하고 소비자들에게 믿을 수 있는 축산물을 제공 할 것으로 보인다. Neonatal lupus is a rare syndrome occurring In neonates with tranplacentally acquired maternal autoantibodies, In particular anti-SSA/Ro-SSB/Ra antibodies. Manifestations include congenital heart block, cutaneous lesions, thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, pulmonary or neurological disease and hepatitis. The non-cardiac manifestations resolve by 6 months of age, congenital heart block is irreversible. We experienced a case of neonatal lupus with congenital complete heart block in a newborn of asyptomatic mother with anti-SSA/Ro-SSB/Ra antibodies.

Objectives : This study aims to estimate the prevalence of the DSM-IV psychiatric disorders in Korean population using the Korean version of Composite International Diagnostic Interview (K-CIDI). Methods : Subjects were selected by taking multi-stage, cluster samples of 7,867 adult household residents, 18 to 64 years of age, in ten catchment areas. Total 78 trained interviewers administered the K-CIDI to the selected respondents, from June 1 to November30,2001. Results : Total 6,275 respondents completed the interview. Some 33.5% of respondents reported at least one lifetime disorder, 20.6% reported at least one-year disorder, and 16.7% reported at least one-month disorder. The most common lifetime disorders were alcohol abuse/dependence (17.24%), nicotine dependence/withdrawal (11.19%), specific phobia (5.16%), and major de-pressive disorder (4.25%). The lifetime prevalence of substance abuse/dependence (0.25%) and schizophrenia (0.16%) was very low. Nicotine and alcohol use disorder showed very high male/female ratio. Mood disorder and anxiety disorder were more prevalent among female than male. Conclusion : The prevalence of psychiatric disorders was high. In comparison with other studies, remarkable differences in distributions of psychiatric disorders across the areas and times were observed.

PCA(Principal Components Analysis)를 이용한 지폐의 정사 분류

In this paper, an efficient classification algorithm using principal components analysis for enhancing the performance of the currently used bank note classification system is proposed. This method first transforms four feature vectors from sensing devices into principal components analysis, then maps the feature vectors to eigenvectors corresponding to maxium among eigenvalues. A cash is classified as new if it is greater than the threshold set by user, as old if it is not. The experimental result shows that the proposed system enhance the performance of the current system above 1%.

The matrix tablet containing sodium alginate and CaHPO₄ can release drugs in a controlled fashion from hydrogel with gelling and swelling due to their interaction as water penetrates the matrices of the tablet. The purpose of this study was to evaluate release characteristics of the matrix tablet varying the amount of sodium alginate, CaHPO₄ and other excipients such as chitosan, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) and Eudragit^ⓡ RS100 in the simulated gastric and intestinal fluid. The practically soluble ibuprofen was used as a model drug. The release profiles of matrix tablet in the gastric fluid as a function of sodium alginate/CaHPO₄ ratio was not pronounced because of low solubility of drug and stability of alginate matrices. However, release rate of drug from the matrix tablet in the intestinal fluid was largely changed when sodium alginate/CaHPO₄ ratio was increased, suggesting that the ratio of sodium alginate/CaHPO₄ was an important factor to control the gelling and swelling of the matrix tablet. The incorporation of other excipients into the matrix tablet also influenced the release rate of drug. The chitosan and HPMC decreased the release rate of drug. No release of drug was occurred when Eudragit^ⓡ RS100 was added into the tablet. The retarded release of matrix tablet when excipients were added resulted from the hindrance of swelling and gelling of the matrix tablet containing sodium alginate and CaHPO₄. The hardness and bulk density of the matrix tablet was not correlated with release rate of drug in the study. From these findings, the ratio of sodium alginate and CaHPO₄ in the matrix tablet in addition to incorporation of excipients could be very important to control the release rate of drug in dosage form design.

Clinical study of netilmicin was performed for prophylactic use and for therapeutic use in the surgical infection at the department of General Surgery, SNUH. Of 27 prophylactic cases, 26 cases recovered from surgery without any postoperatrre surgical infection, so the efficacy of the netimicin was 96.3% in the prophylactic use. Among 28 cases of various surgical infections, netilmicin had 20 cases of complete resolution, 5 cases, of marked improvement, so its efficacy was 89.3%. Especially metilmicin had the effect of complete response in the surgical infections which had not been responded previously by gentamicin and tohramycin in the 7 and 2 cases respectively. Toxicity of netilmicin, i. e. autotoxicity or nephrotoxicity, which might be enough to interfere the use of this aminoglycoside, was not developed in this study.

Because of both conflicts between powerful countries and several ideologies in the early period. and the political interferences, the commercialization of The Olympic Games, and taking illegal drugs for a athlete's game ability in the contemporary period, amateur spirit of The 1st Athens Games has been changed and the naive Olympism has met a crisis. So the necessity of The Olympic Games' reform is being stressed all around the world. Especially, ex-chairmen of IOC, Coubertin, Baillet Latiur. Sigfrid Estrom, Brundage, Lord Killannin has emphasized The Olympic Games' reform should be needed. A lot of intellectual journalists has pointed out the necessity of a reform in IOC and The Olympic Games' system since 1896. But, to be more important is for these voices of reform not to be accepted. So, Jeffery said, "how long does it take athletes of young age around the world to understand that they has been exploited by persons and institutes loyal to the not-sublime aim and he added extremely." If IOC can't find out the fundamental sense and flexibility. The Games had better be abolished. It is natural that The Olympic Games should be changed in accordance with speedy changes in every part around the world. So the world wants to reform The Games keenly. To do it, new Olympic Charter should be made in accordance with both Coubertin's modern Olympic idealism and the 21 century's pragmatism and a result of it, IOC can be reborn as not a powerful one to deal with the Games exclusively but a service organization and The Olympic Games should continue to be held forever in the world.
