Recently, we have used internal fixation with titanium miniplate which introduced by Champy in 1976 in facial bone fractures. In cases of mandibular fractures, particulary mandibular angle fractures, we usually underwent the open reduction extraorally. But extraoral approaches may leave scars and put the facial nerve at greater risk. So, we had undergone the intraoral approaches in 31 patients of mandibular angle fractures (male : 29, female : 2)> These patients visited in Wonkwang university hospital from October 1991 to June 1993. We got easy operation time as average 20 minutes than extraoral approach. And reduced the postoperative nerve injury(14.2%), but postoperative infection is 6.1% nearly as same as extraoral approach. TMJ problems after intraoral open reduction was similar to extraoral approaches.

The fractional anisotropy value of the basal ganglia fibers in the brain gray matter region was analyzed by Tract-Based Spatial Statics(TBSS) method after acquiring the diffusion tensor image to identify the presence or absence of brain white matter damage to smoking in male. As a result of measurement analysis, the fractional anisotropy measurement value was lower in smokers than non–smokers in all areas, and the FA value was statistically significant. smoking significantly affects all the anatomic micro structural changes in the brain gray matter and damages the nerve fiber tract. As a result, it can affects functional abnormalities related to the minute changes of the brain due to smoking. 흡연 유무의 남성을 대상으로 뇌 회백질의 손상 유무를 파악 할 수 있는 확산텐서영상을 검사하여 영상을 획득 한 후 Tract-Based Spatial Statics(TBSS)방법으로 뇌 회백질 부위의 기저핵 신경섬유로의 비등방도 FA(fractional anisotropy)값을 측정 분석한 결과 모든 영역에서 흡연자가 비흡연자보다 비등방성 측정값이 낮게 관찰되었으며 FA값은 통계적으로 유의하였다. 본 연구의 측정한 FA결과 값으로 추측하자면 즉, 흡연이 뇌 회백질 기저핵의 모든 해부학적 미세 구조성 변화에 크게 영향을 미치며 신경섬유로를 손상시키고 이와 관련된 기능적 이상에 영향을 준다고 할 수 있다.

Rapid, accurate diagnosis of drug resistant-TB is critical for timely initiation of treatment and control of the disease. Since WHO endorsed commercial rapid drug susceptibility test (DST) to identify mutations conferring resistance to the anti-mycobacterial drugs, several discrepant cases between rapid and conventional DST results were reported. Therefore, analysis of the prevalence of mutations associated with drug-resistance is important to understanding the current status of DR-TB as well as treatment. In this study, we established the MIC distribution with 476 clinical isolates from drug resistant risk group, namely retreatment TB patients, and MDR patients in South Korea. And we determined the resistance pattern of the anti-mycobacterial drugs and frequencies of resistance-associated mutations by sequencing analysis with rpoB genes for RIF, katG, inhA, and ahpC genes for INH, gyrA and gyrB genes for moxifloxacin, and rrs for kanamycin. Our results showed that 96% and 89.9% of RIF and INH resistance was associated with rpoB and katG (89.9%), inhA (31%), and/or ahpC (4.4%) gene mutation. And 95.1% of MOX resistance was related with gyrA (63.4%) and gyrB (6.4%) gene mutation and 46% KAN resistance were associated with rrs gene. Among the antibiotics resistance related gene mutations, Ser-531 of rpoB (60.8%), Ser315Thr of KatG (68%), -15 promoter region of inhA (92.1%), and point mutation of 21Glu, 94Asp and 95Ser at gyrA gene were the predominant mutation sites. Our database would help the interpretation of DST results and developing new diagnostic test.
Low-power CMOS Front-end ROIC using Inverter-feedback RGC TIA for 3-D Flash LADAR Sensor

This work proposes a pixel architecture for a front-end readout integrated circuit (ROIC) using an inverter-feedback regulated-cascode (RGC) trans-impedance amplifier (TIA) for the focal plane array of a three-dimensional flash laser detection and ranging sensor. Although there are various TIA topologies for wideband operation, the inverter-feedback RGC structure is adopted owing to the importance of the small area and low power consumption of the array configuration. A single pixel also consists of an overcurrent protector, comparator, amplitude-to-voltage converter, and time-to-voltage converter to sense the range and intensity information of the remote object. A single pixel dissipates a power of 5.28 mW from a 3-V supply. The receiver achieves an input referred noise current of 7.5 pA/√Hz with a bandwidth of 453 MHz, transimpedance gain of 76 dB · >, and a maximum detection range of 60 m with a 3.8-ns pulse. A single pixel is developed within 100 μm × 100 μm and the total die size, including the I/O pads, is 2200 μm × 2200 μm.
