        Clinicopathological role of kidney injury molecule-1 in immunoglobulin A nephropathy

        Background: Urinary kidney injury molecule-1 (KIM-1) is an early and sensitivebiomarker of acute kidney injury, but it is unclear if it is a biomarker of chronicglomerulonephritis. We evaluated whether urinary KIM-1 levels in patients withimmunoglobulin A (IgA) nephropathy can be a marker to reflect clinicopathologicalseverity and predict the prognosis. Methods: We measured urinary KIM-1 levels in 40 patients (15 males; mean age36.6712.9 years) with IgA nephropathy and 10 healthy people (5 males; mean age37.379.6 years) as controls. The correlation of urinary KIM-1 levels with patients’clinical parameters, histological grades, and follow-up data were analyzed using themodified H. S. Lee grading system and tubulointerstitial change scores. Results: Urinary KIM-1 levels were higher in patients with IgA nephropathy thanhealthy controls (P¼0.001). Univariate and multivariate regression analyses showedthat urinary KIM-1 levels had a direct correlation with H. S. Lee grade andtubulointerstitial inflammation (P¼0.004 and P¼0.011, respectively). Conclusion: In patients with IgA nephropathy, urinary KIM-1 has a significantcorrelation with histopathologic severity.

        천연한약재(목통, 삼릉, 치자) 추출물의 항산화효과 및 항균활성효과

        한약재로 많이 이용되고 있는 목통, 삼릉 및 치자의 항산화활성과 항균활성 정도를 검토하기 위해 한약재를 물, 70% methanol(MeOH) 및 100% MeOH로 추출한 후 각 추출물의 페놀화합물함량, 전자공여능, hydroxy radical 소거효과, reducing power 및 항균활성시험을 하였다. 그 결과 실험에 사용한 3가지 한약재 모두 항산화효과와 항균활성이 뛰어났으며, 특히 목통 70% MeOH 추출물이 그 효과가 가장 컸으며 다음이 100% MeOH, 물추출물 순이었다. Antioxidant activity and antimicrobial activity of medicinal plants extracts from 3 edible or medicinal plant were examined. The extracts from Akebia quinate Decaisne, Scirusfluviatilis A. Gray, Gardenia jasminoides for. grandiflora Makino showed comparatively strong antioxidative activity on test. Electron donatating abilities and hydroxy radical scavenging ablities of 70% methanol, 100% methanol extracts were higher than thoes of water extracts. Some extracts of medicinal plants showed antimicrobial effect, especially, the extracts showed antimicrobial effect in the 70% methanol higher than other extracts.

        The 8 specimens are tested for vertical joint of PC large panel type. The comparison of the specimens having a different strength between grout concrete and panel is presented and other design parameters such as steel reinforcing ratio and location are varied. Test behaviors are discussed on crack patterns near shear-key, maximum shear and energy absorption capacities. If the relative strength of grout concrete is high, the results show more ductile and rely on the reinforcing loop bar than the case of same relative strength.

        The results of the study on the degree of interest in gymnastics classes of 475 middle school students in Kyungkido is as follows. The first, the degrees of motive endowment and interest in gymnastics classes of students before classes were low. The second, the students who are participating the classes show the high significant level of P〈0.001 over the questions about the degree of satisfaction for class contents, the degree of satisfaction when their skills improve, class time assignment, and the joint class of boy and girl students, that the degree of satisfaction of the students who participate the classes pleasantly marked high. The third, Students don't content themselves with the field and equipment. The forth, the result indicates the positive tendencies of students over the impact of gymnastic classes on the body is very high. The fifth, the demand of teacher's exhibition is very high.

        <삼국사기> 지리지의 지명과 전래 지명

        This paper analyzes some place names in the Samguk- sagi Jiriji(三國史記 地理志), clarifying the meanings and forms. It tries to study the meanings and the allomorphs of place names in relation to the ones handed down from the ancient times, manifesting both the present and the old place names have the identical meaning. The paper makes it clear that '날/??' signifies 'stream(시내/川), ferry(津), mountain(山)', and estuary(浦), '仍乙' and '仍利, 乃利' are proved to be the phonetic transcription of '날(stream)' and '나리(stream). '羅' has the meaning of both the earth and the stream, which manifests that '召羅' means 'iron-stream'. '오(烏)' in 오산(烏山) deriving from '을' with the exclusion of 'ㄹ' means '孤(lone)', and has the same meaning as '.오리, 오이, 외'. The fact evidences that '오롯이' and '오로지' are derived from '올'. '禮' and '이' are also found to have the same meaning as these. '고리, 고이, 괴, 고' in the hereditary place names are certified to have the same meanings as '골/谷(valley)', 欲乃has the meaning of 'valley stream (谷川)' since 欲 in 欲乃 is the phonetic transcription of '고 ( valley)'.

        6kW 독립형 풍력발전기의 진동 모니터링 및 분석

        A vibration monitoring system for a small class of wind turbine (W/T) is established and operated. The monitoring system consists of monolithic integrated chip accelerometer for vibration monitoring, anemometers for wind data acquisition and auxiliary sensors for atmospheric data. Using the monitoring system, vibration response of a 6kW W/T generator is investigated. Acceleration data of the W/T tower under various operation condition is acquired in real time using LabVIEW and is remotely transferred from the test site to the laboratory in school by internet. Vibration state of the tower structure is diagnosed within the operating speed range. Resonance frequency range of the test model is investigated with the wind speed data of the test site.

        Computer programs called "PCBRG" and "PCPST' were developed to analyze and design the prestressed concrete bridge. PCBRG is a structural analysis program which can determine the member forces, displacements and adaptable area of tendon by iteration method. PCPST is a post-processor for design. It enables design variables verified and the results of analysis (stress, member force and displacement, etc) are presented in the screen. Also the shear force and bending strength by the deformation compatibility method were checked.

        In order to utilize the ubiquitous sensor network technology, it is necessary to identify the communication characteristics of the sensor node. The purpose of this study is to investigate the wireless performance to be related the environment (i.e. humidity) which can cause data loss in the greenhouse environment. The performance of wireless communication was conducted in the constant temperature and humidity device. The results of performance for Zigbee communication were not affected by the humidity. The Zigbee communication without the data loss would be more effective to control the environment in the greenhouse.

        A sensibility measurement system that can measure human sensibility at the automobile cabin environment is developed in this paper. Five kinds of sensors that can measure temperature, humidity, oxygen, CO_(2), and HC gas concentrations are used in this system. Sensibility indexes are defined for each sensor datum, and then those are linearly combined to make a total human sensibility index. A stand-alone system is manufactured using a one-chip microprocessor, and simple controls are showed with LEDs. This system was tested for performance in automobile cabin environment and showed good reliability.

      • Key을 이용한 디지털 이미지 워터마킹에 관한 연구

        In this paper, we reviewed and compared the methods uses the key as watermark and key with watermark. And we found some methods using the key in watermarking on the frequency domain which were robust to arbitrary attack. At first, the image was transformed to frequency domain by DWT(Discrete Wavelet Transform) in the methods uses the key as watermark, and then the watermark was inserted and extracted in the high frequency region on the transformed image. The second one uses the key with watermark transforms the image into frequency domain by DCT(Discrete Cosine Transform) and inserts the watermark on the mid frequency region that is selected by human visual characteristics. This method also inserts and extracts the watermark with minimum effect to the image quality by using multiple thresholds to maximize the image quality. Experimental results shows the second method using the key with watermark has higher PSNR compared to the other method for the watermark extraction.
