Test bed additional wall combined with PHC-W pile retaining wall has been constructed. To determine the dimensions of test bed additional wall, bending and shear tests of full scale core members of additional wall were tested. Basement additional walls utilizing PHC-W pile retaining wall, which were developed by modifying the cross-section of PHC piles, were classified into the composite additional wall and the non-composite additional wall. Their tests were conducted to obtain bending strength and shear strength of basement additional walls ultilizing PHC-W pile retaining wall. Since bending strengths and shear strengths of the composite additional wall and the non-composite additional wall were similar, it could be confirmed that the non-composite additional wall could be applied instead of the composite additional wall. Full-scale model additional wall was 200 mm thick, thus the thickness of additional wall combined with PHC-W pile retaining wall could be reduced by 100∼200 mm.

The experimental study from the beam-column subassemblies is presented. Test parameters are flexual strength ratio, joint shear stress factor and transverse steel reinforcement ratio. The results from cyclic loading tests show very ductile characteristics. In the designing of ductile moment resisting frame, therefore, transverse reinforcing effect of column and joint should be included.

When reinforcing an existing building with the Concrete Filled Tube(CFT) structure, it is impossible to form a diaphragm inside with the existing method. Therefore, in this study, a construction method was proposed so that the force could be transmitted using the friction force between the diaphragm and the concrete using a double diaphragm.

Four kinds of spunbonded nonwoven fabrics having different fiber orientation were produced by changing the speed of net conveyor in the spunbonding process. Degree of fiber orientation was measured by using image analyzer. The influence of fiber orientation on the physical properties of spun bonded nonwoven fabrics was studied. The tensile properties such as tensile strength, initial modulus and yield stress are increased with the degree of fiber orientation, on the contrary, the tearing strength is decreased. The anisotropy of these tensile properties is increased with the degree of fiber orientation. Especially, the increse in anisotropy of the initial modulus and the yield stress, which is related to the small range deformation, is remarkable.

The 8 specimens are tested for vertical joint of PC large panel type. The comparison of the specimens having a different strength between grout concrete and panel is presented and other design parameters such as steel reinforcing ratio and location are varied. Test behaviors are discussed on crack patterns near shear-key, maximum shear and energy absorption capacities. If the relative strength of grout concrete is high, the results show more ductile and rely on the reinforcing loop bar than the case of same relative strength.
