Designing and Implementing of Dos Prevention System for SPT-based Sync Flooding Protection

In this paper, we design a security architecture that can respond efficiently against the mass mail and Sync Flooding attacks incoming from the external Internet. Also, in order to apply the service denial attach security architecture proposed in this paper, it applies SPT (Safe Proper Time) technology that ensures the reliability of TCP/IP communication. By analyzing the pros and cons of the security architecture in accordance with each phase of the network, it proposes a network architecture that can respond in the most efficient against external malicious attacks.

<P>DNA methylation is the most common and well-characterized epigenetic change in human cancer. Recently, an association between <I>prostate cancer susceptibility candidate</I> (<I>PRAC</I>) methylation and genitourinary cancer was proposed. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the association between <I>PRAC</I> methylation status and clinicopathological parameters and prognosis in long-term follow-up primary nonmuscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC). The clinical relevance of <I>PRAC</I> methylation was determined in 136 human bladder specimens (eight normal controls [NCs] and 128 primary NMIBCs) using quantitative pyrosequencing analysis. <I>PRAC</I> methylation was significantly higher in NMIBC patients than in NCs and was significantly associated with higher grade and more advanced stage of cancer. Kaplan-Meier estimates revealed significant difference in tumor recurrence and progression according to <I>PRAC</I> methylation status (both <I>p</I> < 0.05). Multivariate Cox regression analysis revealed that the <I>PRAC</I> methylation status was a strong predictor of recurrence (hazard ratio [HR], 2.652; <I>p</I> = 0.012) and progression (HR, 9.531; <I>p</I> = 0.035) of NMIBC. Enhanced methylation status of <I>PRAC</I> was positively associated with a high rate of recurrence and progression in NMIBC patients, suggesting that <I>PRAC</I> methylation may be a promising prognostic marker of NMIBC.</P>

Sendmail, an open-source-based software, is the most typical mail system that uses SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol). SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol), a protocol to deliver various types of files and messages, is being utilized not only in E-MAIL, but also in MMS (Multimedia Message Service) data transfer in mobile environment. Sendmail, an open source based software, is the most typical in mail systems using SMTP. It is exposed to service denial attacks such as mass spam mail because of its process structure that is vulnerable to external service attacks. In this paper, we discuss our design of a security architecture that can respond efficiently to mass mail and Sync Flooding attacks from the internet. Also, to apply our proposed service denial attack security architecture, we used SPT (Safe Proper Time) technology, which ensures the reliability of TCP/IP communication. By analyzing the pros and cons of the security architecture in accordance with each phase of the network, we propose a network architecture that can most efficiently fight external malicious attacks.

A new commercial cultivar ‘GARES-HM-17-1’ of Hypsizigus marmoreus was developed by the method of mono-mono crossing between monokaryotic strains derived from Hae-Sal 3Ho. The parental strains are characterized by the property of high quality and a short period of time in cultivation. The optimum temperature of mycelial growth was 25°C and that of fruiting body development was 15~16°C. The period of harvesting including primordia formation was 23.0 days shorter than that of control strain Mangadak No. 2. The color of pileus and stipe surface was neutral-white, respectively. The yield was 82.0±5.8g/850cc plastic bottle. Analysis of the genetic characteristics of the new commercial cultivar ‘GARES-HM-17-1’ showed a different profile as that of the control strain, Mangadak No.2, when RAPD (Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA) primer was used. This new cultivar ‘GARES-HM-17-1’ of H. marmoreus is characterized by the improved quality and a short period of time in cultivation after scratching. It would be of much help to expand the cultivation area of H. marmoreus.

알츠하이머 치매의 병인기전에서 아밀로이드 베타 펩티드는 중요한 역할을 할 것이라는 연구결과가 많이 보고되어있다. 그러나 알츠하이머 치매의 진행과 아밀로이드 베타 펩티드의 생성에는 여러 가지 모순도 보고되었다. 그러므로 아밀로이드 전구단백질에서 생성된 아밀로이드 베타 펩티드 외에 여러 가지 대사물들이 알츠하이머 치매의 병인기전과 관련이 있으리라 여겨진다. 이미 본 연구팀은 니코틴이 신경보호효과가 있다고 알려진 분비형 아밀로이드 전구단백질의 발현을 시간, 농도 의존적으로 증가시킨다는 연구결과를 보고하였다. 이번 논문에서는 니코틴의 전처리로 아밀로이드 베타 펩티드 및 아밀로이드 C단 단백질에 의한 1차 신경세포에서의 세포독성 효과가 억제되며, 이러한 효과는 니코틴의 길항제인 알파붕가로톡신에 의해 상쇄된다는 연구결과를 얻었다. 뿐만 아니라 C단 단백질을 PC12세포에 유전자를 이입시켰을 때, 니코틴에 의하며 세포 독성이 억제되는 결과를 얻었다. 이러한 연구결과로 볼 때, 니코틴이나 니코틴 수용체는 콜린성 신경전달 물질 보상 뿐만 아니라 아밀로이드 베타 펩티드, 아밀로이드 C단 단백질의 독성을 저해함으로써 인지기능 향상에 영향을 줄 것으로 예상된다. Several lines of evidence indicate that Aβ may play an important role in the pathogenesis of AD. However, there are several discrepancies between the production of Aβ and the development of the disease. Thus, Aβ may not be the sole active fragment of β-amyloid precursor protein (βAPP) in the neurotoxicity associated with AD. Previously, findings from our experiments have shown that nicotine enhances the release of APPs, which has neurotrophic and neuroprotective activities in concentration and time-dependent manners. In this study, our results showed that Pretreatment of nicotine (>10μM, for 24hr) partially prevented Aβ or CT_(105)-induced cytotoxicity in primary cultured neuronal cells, and the effects of nicotine-induced protection was inhibited by the pretreatment with a nicotine receptor antagonist α-bungarotoxin. Nicotine (>10μM, for 24hr) partially inhibited CT_(105)-induced cytotoxicity when PC12 cells was transfected with CT_(105). From these results, we proposed that treatment of nicotine or nicotinic receptor agonist might improve the cognitive functions not only by supplementation of cholinergic neurotransmission but also by protecting Aβ-or CT_(105)-induced neurotoxicity probably through the increased release of APPs and the activation of nicotinic receptor.
약용식물 추출물의 대추나무 탄저병균 균사 생장 및 발병 억제 효과

Anthracnose is one of the serious diseases in jujube leaves and fruits resulting in reduced production and fruit quality in jujube production. The application of synthetic fungicide to control anthracnose induces various side effects to require for the development of new safe biofungicide for sustainable fruit production. In this study, antifungal activities against Colletotrichum gloeosporioides and inhibition effect of anthracnose development by ethyl acetate extracts of several medicinal plants were screened to select novel candidates applicable for control of anthracnose in jujube. Among medicinal plants, crude extracts from sweet wormwood and resin of peach trees showed inhibition of mycelial growth against C. gloeosporioides with inhibition zone of 15 mm and 17.7 mm in diameter in in vitro antimicrobial activity test, respectively. There was inhibition in development of anthracnose lesion by 58.3% by sweet wormwood, 64.2% by cockscomb, and 60.1% by resin of peach tree and asian plantain in jujube fruits. There was more effective inhibition activity in development of anthracnose by medicinal plant extracts in young fruits than ripening ones. Extracts of tested medicinal plants showing antifungal activities against pathogen and inhibitory effects on anthracnose development could be used as environment-friendly biofungicides in management of anthracnose in jujube production.
