A Study on Innovation Resistance Model of Internet Primary Banks

Banks recorded minus returns due to the subprime mortgage crisis in 2008 and regulations on financial instruments. To overcome this, the financial industry has replaced its system, which originally has been done by human, to computer system while joining hands with the IT industry. As time goes by, consumers tend to go online instead of visiting banks as the costs of financial services have been reduced and their speed gets fast. The purpose of this study is to find out what forms psychological resistance regarding internet banks and empirically verify what actually influences the intent to use internet banks. Thus, this study tries to reveal factors that form psychological resistance inhibiting the proliferation of internet banks through study models comprised of the variables suggested in the Innovation Resistance Model by Ram.

<P>We introduce an orientation-controlled alignment process of p-GaN/InGaN multiquantum-well/n-GaN (p/MQW/n InGaN) nanorod light-emitting diodes (LEDs) by applying the direct current (DC) offset-alternating current (AC) or pulsed DC electric fields across interdigitated metal electrodes. The as-forwardly aligned p/MQW/n InGaN nanorod LEDs by a pulsed DC dielectrophoresis (DEP) assembly process improve the electroluminescence (EL) intensities by 1.8 times compared to the conventional AC DEP assembly process under DC electric field operation and exhibit an enhanced applied current and EL brightness in the current-voltage and EL intensity-voltage curves, which can be directly used as the fundamental data to construct DC-operated nanorod LED devices, such as LED areal surface lightings, scalable lightings (micrometers to inches) and formable surface lightings. The enhancement in the applied current, the improved EL intensity, and the increased number of forwardly aligned p/MQW/n InGaN nanorods in panchromatic cathodoluminescence images confirm the considerable enhancement of forwardly aligned one-dimensional nanorod LEDs between two opposite electrodes using DC offset-AC or a pulsed DC electric field DEP assembly process. These DC offset-AC or pulsed DC electric field DEP assembly processes suggest that designing for these types of interactions could yield new ways to control the orientation of asymmetric p/MQW/n InGaN diode-type LED nanorods with a relatively low aspect ratio.</P>

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The monoamine oxidase A (<I>MAOA</I>) gene is an important candidate gene for human behavior that encodes an enzyme regulating the metabolism of key neurotransmitters. The regulatory mechanisms of the <I>MAOA</I> gene in dogs are yet to be elucidated. We measured <I>MAOA</I> gene transcription and analyzed the VNTR genotype and methylation status of the gene promoter region in different dog breeds to determine whether <I>MAOA</I> expression is correlated with the <I>MAOA</I> genotype or epigenetic modification in dogs. We found brain-specific expression of the <I>MAOA</I> gene and different transcription levels in different dog breeds including Beagle, Sapsaree, and German shepherd, and also a robust association of the DNA methylation of the gene promoter with mRNA levels. However, the 90bp tandem repeats that we observed near the transcription start site were not variable, indicating no correlation with canine MAOA activity. These results show that differential DNA methylation in the <I>MAOA</I> promoter region may affect gene expression by modulating promoter activity. Moreover, the distinctive patterns of <I>MAOA</I> expression and DNA methylation may be involved in breed-specific or individual behavioral characteristics, such as aggression, because behavioral phenotypes are related to different physiological and neuroendocrine responses.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> The monoamine oxidase A (<I>MAOA</I>) gene is an important candidate gene. </LI> <LI> <I>MAOA</I> encodes an enzyme regulating the metabolism of key neurotransmitters. </LI> <LI> The patterns of <I>MAOA</I> expression and DNA methylation may be involved in breed-specific or individual behavior. </LI> <LI> The transcription levels of <I>MAOA</I> were also different in the brains of different dog breeds. </LI> <LI> The differential expression and DNA methylation of <I>MAOA</I> may contribute to differences in behavioral phenotypes of breeds. </LI> </UL> </P>

A 0.9 – 1.5 GHz CMOS UWB Radar IC for Through the Wall Human Detection
Byeong Jae Seo,Gu Jung,Sunghun Jung,Dong-Min Seol,Sungmoon Chung,Yun Seong Eo 대한전자공학회 2023 Journal of semiconductor technology and science Vol.23 No.1
In this paper, a UWB radar IC for the through wall radar is presented to achieve the smaller form factor of the module and low power operation. For the penetration performance enhancement, the radar IC s designed for the lower 0.9 – 1.5 GHz band. The radar IC employs the 4-channel time-interleaved equivalent time sampling receiver for 200 ps fine resolution, and the digitally synthesized impulse generator for the transmitter. The human target behind the concrete brick wall can be detected in the distance over 9.4 m with the help of signal processing part and additional amplifiers. The radar transceiver IC is fabricated in a 0.13 μm CMOS technology and the current consumption is 116.3 mA at the 1.2 V supply.
