        In the result of the research on the interests to the physical strength code system of boy high school (Comparison) of advancing to higher education and nonadvancing to higher education), it was possible to deduce the following conclusion and the suggestions from the theoretical background and the assumptions mentioned above forwarded by this research. 1. The understanding in the system of P.S.C. in inefficient. 2. The system failed to provide to one's strengh buiding 3. The training for P.S.C. is always not practiced consistently but being exercised on the immediate of inspection. 4. The understanding on the itemized purpose of its inspection is relatively low. 5. The inspection has something to do with the entrance examination and conderned because of the directive score points. 6. The inspection system failed to show a fairness and a lot of contradictions have been pointed out in the course of its execution. 7. In a comparison of advancing to higher education and nonadvanoing to higher education, the latter has not considered a special necessity. 8. The relative importance for the entrance examination by current inspection of P.S. has shown as fitted one. 9. It is not well comed to practice only in the training of P.S.C. at the assigned time to P.S. From the above conclusion, the following suggestions are required. 1. It is required that the system of P.S.C. is to be equally alotted to the all physical curriculum so that the guidance with the possitive plans be undertaken in the ordinal time. 2. It should not be limited of the system of P.S.C. in reflecting to the result of entrance examination for the boys of advancing to higher educations, and but considered in the dimension of national aspects, and the systematic backing policy enabling to exercise with a interest to the system of P.S.C even for the group of non-advancing for higher education be necessary. 3. A objectivity making the inspection thorough and correct in the course of execution, of the system of P.S.C. is required. 4. The fairness of inspection should be maintained by a sufficient training in advance for the staffs of the physical strength inspection and the inconsistencies should be developed. 5. The items of sport(Swiming, physical exercise, shooting etc.) beside the items of current P.S. inspection is recommended to be added. In the end, by strengthening the grade of current P.S. inspection, it is necessary to let people know that it Is very hard to get a special grade without a consistent effort in ordinary day.

      • Towards high performance unique microstructures of Co<sub>9</sub>S<sub>8</sub>//CoFe<sub>2</sub>O<sub>4</sub> for asymmetric supercapacitor

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Herein, we have proposed asymmetric supercapacitor device to achieve empirical electrochemical performance based on binder-free Co<SUB>9</SUB>S<SUB>8</SUB> and CoFe<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB> electrodes. The unique architecture and porous surface of the prepared electrodes were analyzed using electron microscopy and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller technique. Electrochemical properties of Co<SUB>9</SUB>S<SUB>8</SUB> and CoFe<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB> electrode were employed in a three-electrode cell-configuration that exhibits a capacitance of 817 and 1203Fg<SUP>−1</SUP>, respectively. Co<SUB>9</SUB>S<SUB>8</SUB>//CoFe<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB> asymmetric supercapacitor reveals a high capacitance of 79.11Fg<SUP>−1</SUP> with 28.88Whkg<SUP>−1</SUP> energy density and superior cyclic stability over 2500 cycles (∼87%).       • Carbenoxolone prevents the development of fatty liver in C57BL/6-Lep <sup>ob/ob</sup> mice via the inhibition of sterol regulatory element binding protein-1c activity and apoptosis

        Carbenoxolone is the 3-hemisuccinate of glycyrrhetinic acid, the active principal of licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra). It was reported that carbenoxolone improved glucose tolerance with increased insulin sensitivity in mice with high fat diet-induced obesity. In the present study, we elucidated the protective effect of carbenoxolone in fatty liver animal models of C57BL/6-Lep<SUP>ob/ob</SUP> mice through inhibition of hepatic lipogenesis and apoptosis. In addition, the potential mechanisms by which carbenoxolone could exert such protection were elucidated. Carbenoxolone was daily administrated by gavage for 28 days in C57BL/6 and C57BL/6-Lep<SUP>ob/ob</SUP> mice. Carbenoxolone prevented the plasma triglyceride and free fatty acid accumulation associated with the reduction of the expression of sterol regulatory element binding protein-1c, liver X receptor, fatty acid synthase and acethyl-CoA carboxylase in the livers of C57BL/6-Lep<SUP>ob/ob</SUP> mice. Carbenoxolone also prevented hepatic injury through anti-apoptotic action in the livers of C57BL/6-Lep<SUP>ob/ob</SUP> mice, accompanied by increased Bcl-2 expression and suppressed Bax and cytochrome c expression. As a mechanism, increased inflammatory cytokine expressions were inhibited by carbenoxolone in the fatty livers of C57BL/6-Lep<SUP>ob/ob</SUP> mice. Furthermore, carbenoxolone inhibited free fatty acid (oleate/palmitate) induced reactive oxygen species formation and reversed free fatty acid induced mitochondrial membrane depolarization in HepG2 cells. Carbenoxolone prevents the development of fatty liver by inhibiting sterol regulatory element binding protein-1c expression and activity with an anti-apoptotic mechanism via the inhibition of inflammatory cytokine and reactive oxygen species formation in the livers of C57BL/6-Lep<SUP>ob/ob</SUP> mice. It is suggested that carbenoxolone prevents the development and progression of fatty liver disease in patients with insulin resistance.

        Characterization of Insertional Variation of Porcine Endogenous Retroviruses in Six Different Pig Breeds

        Pigs may need to be exploited as xenotransplantation donors due to the shortage of human organs, tissues and cells. Porcine endogenous retroviruses (PERVs) are a significant obstacle to xenotransplantation because they can infect human cells in vitro and have the potential for transmission of unexpected pathogens to humans. In this research, 101 pigs, including four commercial breeds (23 Berkshire, 13 Duroc, 22 Landrace and 14 Yorkshire pigs), one native breed (19 Korean native pigs) and one miniature breed (10 NIH miniature pigs) were used to investigate insertional variations for 11 PERV loci (three PERV-A, six PERV-B and two PERV-C). Over 60% of the pigs harbored one PERV-A (907F8) integration and five PERV-B (B3-3G, B3-7G, 742H1, 1155D9 and 465D1) integrations. However, two PERV-A loci (A1-6C and 1347C1) and one PERV-B locus (B3-7F) were absent in Duroc pigs. Moreover, two PERV-C loci (C2-6C and C4-2G) only existed in Korean native pigs and NIH miniature pigs. The results suggest that PERV insertional variations differ among pig breeds as well as among individuals within a breed. Also, the results presented here can be used for the selection of animals that do not have specific PERV integration for xenotransplantation research.

      • The Use of Collagen Content as Determined by Spectral Domain Polarization-Sensitive Optical Coherence Tomography to Assess Colon Anastomosis Healing in a Rat Model

        <P>Abstract</P><P><B><I>Background/Purpose:</I></B> Many studies have been undertaken to prevent anastomosis leakage of the colon, and several methods have been used to assess anastomosis healing, such as measurement of bursting pressure or hydroxyproline (a marker of collagen) content at the anastomosis site. However, these methods are inappropriate for comparing anastomosis healing at two time points in the same animals. In the present study, we measured the collagen level by spectral domain polarization-sensitive optical coherence tomography (SD-PS-OCT) to assess anastomosis healing. <B><I>Methods:</I></B> Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into groups C (saline-administered controls; study group) and M [a 5-fluorouracil (5-FU)-administered experimental group]. Immediately after end-to-end anastomosis of the colon, SD-PS-OCT images of anastomoses were taken (baseline). Animals were administered saline or 5-FU for 7 days. On the 7th postoperative day, SD-PS-OCT images were acquired, a histopathologic exam was performed, and hydroxyproline levels as well as mRNA expressions of collagen-1 and collagen-3 were measured at the anastomosis site. <B><I>Results:</I></B> Fibroblast proliferation and inflammatory cell infiltration were greater in group C than in group M. The mRNA expressions of collagen-1 and collagen-3 were substantially higher in group C. Hydroxyproline levels were higher in group M than in group C. Though collagen levels measured by SD-PS-OCT at 7 days were elevated compared with baseline in group C, no such changes were observed for group M. <B><I>Conclusion:</I></B> Collagen levels at the colon anastomosis site, measured with SD-PS-OCT, were not increased at 7 days postoperatively versus baseline when 5-FU was injected, but were increased in saline-treated controls. The measurement of collagen content by SD-PS-OCT was found to provide a good means of assessing anastomosis healing, because it allows in situ assessment of collagen contents at baseline and during the postoperative period.</P><P>© 2014 S.         According to the effect of temperature on the visible flower bud formation and flowering, they were promoted as ADT decreased: none of four cultivars differentiated flower bud at higher temperature such as 25C and 30C ADT. At 20C, days to flower bud formation in Snowflake 'Red Star', Malones 'Fantasy' and Yukidaruma 'King' was quitely delayed wheres days to flower bud formation at 15C was a little bit more advanced than those at 20C and more advanced in Yukidaruma 'King' and Snowflake 'Red Star' than in Golden Blossom 'Kogane' and Malones 'Fantasy'. On the basis of these results, it was found that flower bud formation of Dendrobium was accomplished by low temperature(below 15C) and the flowering and ripening of stem after occurrence of flag leaf were accelerated by high temperature. In addition, flower bud formation and flowering were markedly stimulated by BA 200ppm application, showing the additive effect with low temperature.

      • 羚洋角 Capricornidis Cornu 製劑가 家兎血淸中 脂質含量變化에 미치는 影響에 關한 硏究

        The effect of crude drug preparation containing Capricornidis Cornu (C.C.) on the amount of total cholesterol, triglycerides, and phospholipid in serum from rabbit were observed. The preparations were extracted by methanol, and extracted samples were orally administrated to the rabbits fasted for three days. After three days starvation, the amounts of total cholesterol and triglycerides in serum of the rabbit were markedly increased, while phospholipid was slightly decreased. The increased amounts of total cholesterol and triglyceride were gradually decreased by administration of the extracted samples, and were returned to the control levels after 15 days. However, the amount of phospholipid was increased to higher than the control levels by administration of the drugs. The crude drug preparations containing C.C. produced the most significant results, in comparison with the experimental groups treated by C.C. alone, or crude drugs without C.C.

        The nationally-governed examinations for certification of allied health professions in Korea have been continued for thirty three years. During that time, there were a lot of managerial improvements in carrying out the examinations, for example, the looking-over the papers converted from manual method to computerized one. Nevertheless, the overall aspects of item management in the national examinations are still remained as obsolete style. In some developed countries they have already tried or adopted computerized system in making questions, executing item analysis, developing item banking, and in overall management of examinations, looking over papers for their national licensure examinations, and have established good reputations. Since the National Health Personnel Licensing Examination Board was established in 1998, now we can expect there would be a lots of improvements in the managerial systems and organizational structures associated with the national licensing examinations suggesting followings. 1. The contents and scope of the licensing examinations based on job analysis should be announced publicaly. 2. Items should be developed based on the scopes and contents of job characteristics. 3. All the developed items for the licensing examinations should be tested quantitatively prior to banking items. 4. All the parameters of the stored items should be fully estimated through item response theory. 5. All the efforts should be given in order to execute the examinations in individual residential areas on behalf of every examinee. 6. To the licensing examination system the Computerized Adaptive Testing system should be introduced in order to enhance the efficiencies. 7. Security enhancement on the stored items should be reminded in order to prevent leaking out the banking items. 8. Much more improvements should be made for the proper job evaluations. 9. Every efforts should be given to prevent cheatings encountable during the examinations. 10. Make the best of professional volunteers from the various fields in the execution of licensing examinations. 11. Consider a new system in that examinations can be executed twice or more in a year. 12. The current methods of presiding over the examinations should be replaced by a more reasonable one. 13. The results of the examinations should be announced as soon as possible in order not to prolong the examinees' unemployment periods. 14. The National Health Personnel Licensing Examination Board should try to rationalize the management keeping step with the information-oriented society.

      • <i>Rhodococcus aerolatus</i> sp. nov., isolated from subarctic rainwater

        <P>A Gram-stain-positive, rod-shaped and non-motile strain, designated PAMC 27367<SUP>T</SUP>, was isolated from rainwater collected on the Bering Sea. Analysis of the 16S rRNA gene sequence of the strain showed an affiliation with the genus <I>Rhodococcus</I>. Phylogenetic analyses revealed that strain PAMC 27367<SUP>T</SUP> formed a robust clade with the type strains of <I>Rhodococcus rhodnii</I>, <I>Rhodococcus aetherivorans</I> and <I>Rhodococcus ruber</I> with 16S rRNA gene sequence similarities of 96.3 %, 95.8 % and 95.5 %, respectively. Cells of the strain grew optimally at 25 °C and at pH 6.5–7.0 in the presence of 0–2 % (w/v) sea salts. The major polar lipids were diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylinositol, phosphatidylinositol mannoside and three unknown phospholipids. The major cellular fatty acids (>10 %) were iso-C<SUB>16 : 0</SUB>, C<SUB>17 : 1</SUB>ω8<I>c</I> and 10-methyl C<SUB>17 : 0</SUB>. Cell wall analysis showed that strain PAMC 27367<SUP>T</SUP> contained <I>meso</I>-diaminopimelic acid. The genomic DNA G+C content was 77.1 mol%. Based on the phylogenetic, chemotaxonomic and phenotypic data presented here, we propose a novel species with the name <I>Rhodococcus</I> <I>aerolatus</I> sp. nov., with PAMC 27367<SUP>T</SUP> ( = KCTC 29240<SUP>T</SUP> = JCM 19485<SUP>T</SUP>) as the type strain.</P>
