<P>Exocoordination-based homonuclear and heteronuclear coordination polymers of calix [4]-bis-monothiacrown-5 (L) are reported. L reacts with HgCl2 and affords a one-dimensional (1D) coordination polymer [L(mu-Hg2Cl4)](n) (1) linked by neutral square-type Hg2Cl4 clusters. A straightforward one-pot reaction of L with a mixture of HgCl2 and KCl resulted in the isolation of a heteronuclear species [(K2L)(mu-Hg3Cl8)](n) (2) adopting a 1D polymeric structure in which the endocyclic dipotassium(I) complex cation units of L are linked by anionic open double-square type (mu-Hg3Cl8)(2-) clusters. Both products form a pseudo 3D framework via interchain H-bonds and their topological analyses were also carried out. (C) 2016 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.</P>

Purpose: This study aimed to explore the relationship among score of theory course, score of practicum course and clinical practice ability by the course, Adult Health Nursing. Methods: A descriptive research was conducted using questionaries. Data were collected from September 25 to October 2, 2019. Participants were 67 nursing students at one university in Seoul on their junior year who have experienced clinical settings. The collected data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Cohen’s Kappa, and Scheffe’s test using SPSS 25.0 version program. Results: Participants were given a quartile number from 1 to 4 respectively according to their scores of theory course those of practicum course. The total mean score of clinical practice ability was 3.61, with a perfect score of 5. The scores of theory course and practicum course showed slight correlation(Cohen’s Kappa=.168). However, significant correlation did not existed among score of theory course, score of practicum course and clinical practice ability. Conclusion: The result showed that score of theory course, score of practicum course and clinical practice ability have no significant correlation. However, its finding suggests the necessity of further research about various approach and new evaluation methods needed in order to improve nursing students’ competency.

<P>In this brief, an extended dissipativity analysis was conducted for a neural network with time-varying delays. The concept of the extended dissipativity can be used to solve for the H∞, L2 - L∞, passive, and dissipative performance by adjusting the weighting matrices in a new performance index. In addition, the activation function dividing method is modified by introducing a tuning parameter. Examples are provided to show the effectiveness and less conservatism of the proposed method.</P>

This paper considers the H∞ control problem for networked control systems(NCSs). In order to solve the problem which comes from discontinuous control signal in NCSs, an approach that discontinuous control signals treat time-varying delayed continuous signals is applied to achieve H∞ stability of NCSs. In addition, randomly occurring packet losses and disturbances are considered by introducing stochastic variables with Bernoulli distribution. Based on Lyapunov stability theory, a new stability condition is obtained via linear matrix inequality formulation to find the H∞ controller which achieves the mean square stability of NCSs. Finally, the proposed method is applied to a numerical example in order to show the effectiveness of our results.
Kimchi and an Active Component, β-Sitosterol, Reduce Oncogenic H-Rasv12-Induced DNA Synthesis

The Korean fermented vegetable food, kimchi, has been demonstrated to have anticancer functional proper-ties. This study examined the effect of kimchi samples, methanol extracts of commercially grown baechu cabbage kimchi(CK) and organically grown baechu cabbage kimchi (OK), as well as the dichloromethane fraction (DCM fr.) from CK, andthe active compound (AC), which has ben identified as largely b-sitosterol, from DCM fr., on the Ras-dependent signalingpathway. CK, OK, and DCM fr. exhibited a greater inhibition against the proliferation of Rat2 fibroblasts transformed withRasv12 (HO6) than parental Rat2 fibroblasts. In addition, OK and DCM fr. showed a higher inhibitory effect than CK. Fur-thermore, we employed the single-cell microinjection technique, combined with 3 bromo-5’ -deoxyuridine incorporation, toexamine the effects of kimchi samples on DNA synthesis induced by microinjected oncogenic Ras v12. When the DCM fr. andAC were used to treat Rat1 fibroblasts overexpressing human insulin receptors (HIRc-B) and microinjected with oncogenicH-Rasv12, the DNA synthesis of injected cells was decreased, sugesting that kimchi might block the signaling pathway ofoncogenic Ras v12, thus preventing the proliferation of transformed cells. This study provides additional evidence that kimchiand its active components, including b-sitosterol, have potential in both the prevention and treatment of cancer, and presentsconvincing evidence that the anticancer effects may be a result of an inhibition of Ras oncogene signaling.

Somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) has generally demonstrated that a differentiated cell can convert into a undifferentiated or pluripotent state. In the SCNT experiment, nuclear reprogramming is induced by exposure of introduced donor nuclei to the recipient cytoplasm of matured oocytes. However, because the efficiency of SCNT still remains low, a combination of SCNT technique with the ex-ovo method may improve the normal development of SCNT embryos. Here we hypothesized that treatment of somatic cells with extracts prepared from the germinal vesicle (GV) stage Siberian sturgeon oocytes prior to their use as nuclear donor for SCNT would improve in vitro development. A reversible permeability protocol with $4{\mu}g/mL$ of digitonin for 2 min at $4^{\circ}C$ in order to deliver Siberian sturgeon oocyte extract (SOE) to porcine fetal fibroblasts (PFFs) was carried out. As results, the intensity of H3K9ac staining in PFFs following treatment of SOE for 7 h at $18^{\circ}C$ was significantly increased but the intensity of H3K9me3 staining in PFFs was significantly decreased as compared with the control (p<0.05). Additionally, the level of histone acetylation in SCNT embryos at the zygote stage was significantly increased when reconstructed using SOE-treated cells (p<0.05), similar to that of IVF embryos at the zygote stage. The number of apoptotic cells was significantly decreased and pluripotency markers (Nanog, Oct4 and Sox2) were highly expressed in the blastocyst stage of SCNT embryos reconstructed using SOE-treated cells as nuclear donor (p<0.05). And there was observed a better development to the blastocyst stage in the SOE-treated group (p<0.05). Our results suggested that pre-treatment of cells with SOE could improve epigenetic reprogramming and the quality of porcine SCNT embryos.

Etoposide is a semisynthetic podophyllotoxin-derivative antineoplastic agent with low stability. It is usually applied for small-cell lung cancer, testis cancer, lymphoma and leukemia. Even though etoposide Ⅳ aquous admixture is stable for 24 hours if concentration is less than 400 ㎍/㎖ in either 5% dextrose or normal saline diluent, precipitation has been reported occasionally within the shorter time than literature in our medical settings. We selected five etoposide made by different manufacturers randomly. All selected aquous (diluted) samples have been checked the stability in 0, 5, 10, and 24 hours at first experiment and in 0, 18, and 24 hours at second experiment by HPLC analysis. Physical change was also checked by visual. A diluted USP etoposide reference standards (350, 700 ㎍/㎖) were used as a standard solution. As the results of this study, only some etopiside aquous solutions (sample A, B & C) were stable in concetration 300 ㎍/㎖. All etoposide aquouse solutions were stable for 10 hours in concentration 400 ㎍/㎖. In conclusion, etoposide aqueous solution is definitely stable for 10 hours no matter of different brand company.
