Usual interstitial pneumonia(UIP) is relatively rare disease of lung parenchyme under the age of 50. Lung cancer is reported to occur as a complication of UIP, but has not been reported in young age patient with UIP in Korea. A 35-year-old man was admitted to the hospital because of dyspnea, cough and mild fever. He had been suffered from dyspnea during 3 years. The dyspnea worsened recent 1 month ago. He had been treated with pneumonia at another hospital during 4 months before this admission. Chest radiographs and High resolution CT showed subpleural and basal dominant reticular opacities in both lung with no change until now. He was smoker and his occupation was car engine-man dealing with benzene. UIP is suspected by history and radiologic findings. Operation for open lung biopsy was performed to obtain lung specimen via video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery. Patient's pathologic examination showed UIP combined with adenocarcinoma in RLL superior segment and posterobasal segment and RLL lobectomy was done. After operation, the patient has been in cancer free condition so far. We report a case of UIP combined with lung cancer in young man with brief review of the literature.

ICT를 활용한 구성주의적 수업이 과학개념 획득과 문제해결에 미치는 효과

The purpose of this study is to examine in details the effects of the constructive instruction on the acquisition of scientific conceptions and the problem solving of Science based on ICT (Information and Communication Technology). In this study, An examination tool developed for a previous learning concept was applied to instructional model by a constructivism to students, and by grasping a previous learning concept and using ICT. An way of the improvement about acquisition of scientific conceptions and problem solving of subject was inspected, the rate of a correct answer, the decrease rate of misconception, and the achievement rate of a periodical examination were compared. The result of such enforcement was as follows; The motivational induction for learning, the interesting rate, and the rate of a correct answer in an experimental group showed highly. The result of a examination between an experimental group and a comparative group showed similarly. The rate of accomplishment also showed highly in an experimental group. Accordingly, the constructive instruction using ICT proved to be fit for seventh educational course as a student-centered course. The change of recompositional course for knowledge from a previous learning concept to a new one showed clearly.

적분형 최적레귤레이터법을 이용한 가변속 멀티 열펌프의 실내온도 및 과열도 제어

A variable speed multi-heat pump provides the benefits of comfort, energy conservation and easy maintenance. Recently, the multi-heat pump has been employed in small and medium-sized buildings. However, the control algorithms for multi-heat pump are limited in literatures due to complicated system parameters and operating conditions. In this study, the controller of an integral optimum regulator employing the state space method was designed and applied to the variable speed multi-heat pump system to obtain efficient control of the MIMO(multi input multi output) system. System identification of the multi heat pump was executed by a prediction error algorithm using PRBS(pseudo random binary sequence) for EEV 1 and 2 openings and compressor speed. The integral optimum regulator, which was designed for MIMO system using the state space method, showed appropriate control performance at all indoor and outdoor loads.

사회개발의 정향에 관한 연구

사회개발은 전후 새로운 독립국과 수많은 신생국의 탄생과 함께, 지나친 경제개발에 대한 폐해를 경감시켜 민중들의 건강한 삶의 질을 향상시키는데 선도적 역할을 하여 왔다. 그러한 사회개발도 민중들의 욕구 변화와 사회경제적 환경의 변화와 함께 변해왔다. 이러한 변화의 과정들을 시대별로 구분하여 살펴보고, 향후 사회개발이 민중들의 삶과 함께 욕구충족을 위한 변화를 여하히 꾀하여야 하는가를 고찰함에 본고의 목적이 있다. 특히 사회개발이 지향하여야 할 주된 정향이 과거의 잘못된 개발을 반성하고 나아가서는 민중을 중심으로 그리고 민중을 둘러싸고 있는 사회경제적 여건의 개선에 초점을 두고 전개토록 한다.

개발원조의 동기와 패러다임에 관한 연구

개발원조는 민간자본도 포함해서 개도국에 유입되는 자금의 총량을 뜻하기도 하며, 보다 한정해서 정부차관을 중심으로 개도국에 대한 공적 자금의 흐름에 중점을 두기도 한다. 본고에서는 이러한 개발원조를 실제 행하는 국가들의 동기를 살펴보고, 최근 인간안보를 중심으로 하는 새로운 다섯가지의 패러다임의 모색을 시도해 보기로 한다. 이것은 일반적인 개발원조 과정에서 나타나는 개발대상 지역의 사전조사 단계에서 이루어지는 개발패러다임의 선택시에 가장 적절하고 개발효과를 최대화할 수 있는 패러다임의 선택이 이루어져야 하며, 경우에 따라서는 여러 패러다임을 종합적으로 적용하여 추진하는 것도 중요한 기법의 하나라는 것도 강조되어야 한다.

Tsutsugamushi disease is an acute febrile illness caused by Orientie. tsutsugsmushi. It is characterized by fever, myalgia, lymphadenopathy, and rash. And it can be easily diagnosed by characteristic eschar and serologic testing. Nearly all of the patients with tsutsugamushi disease improve with antibiotics such as doxycycline. However, the fatality rate of untreated cases is seven to ten percent. Splenic infarction is not common disease which is caused by occlusion of the main splenic artery or any of its branches. It is mainly caused by emboli that arise from cardiovascular disease, but sometimes by regional thrombosis associated with leukemia, myeloproliferative disorder, sickle cell anemia, pancreatitis, splenic torsion and septicemia. We experienced one case of tsutsugamushi disease with splenic infarction, which was improved after doxycycline treatment finished.

To find the prevalence and related factors of low back pain experienced by some beauticians. a survey was made toward 252 beauticians in Kwangju City from March 1st to April 1st, 1998. The results were as follows; 1. The prevalence rate of low back pain among the respondents for the last week was 59.5%. 2. The aid group and staff group with low back Pain had significantly longer duration of work than those without low back pain. Managers who had bad posture with twisted or too much extended back showed a significantly higher prevalence of low back pain than those with good posture during work(P<05). 3. Aid group with low back pain showed significantly higher points at total stress score, depression score, general health score and vitality score than those without low back Pain. The staff group with low back pain showed significantly higher points for total stress score, sleep disorder and anxiety score, depression score, general well-being and vitality score than those without low back pain. Managers with low back Pain showed significantly higher points of stress at social performance and self confidence (P<05) than those without low back pain. The above results suggest that low back pain is related to different jobs and work environments for beauticians. So effective measures and further studies against risk factors must be made considering their jobs. To prevent or reduce low back pain, appropriate management of stress for beauticians is necessary.

고속가공을 위한 검사시편에 관한 연구

The properties of a machine tool greatly affect machining quality since a machine tool has large variance in its features. Machine tool makers want to find best machining condition with the one that they have built. Machine builders need to develop test specimen since it helps finding characteristics of machine tools when the machining properties of the specimen are analyzed. This paper develops test specimen to identify features of the main spindle, the feeding device, and the frame of a machine tool. The specimen is machined with a high speed machine and the features of the machine are analyzed with test items. They are surface roughness, overshoot in axial movement, errors in circular movement, feeding with small movement, and compensational error. This work can improve usability for a machine tool in machining practice.
