        ONE-DIMENSIONAL ZnO/CNFs HIERARCHICAL HETEROSTRUCTURES WITH ENHANCED PHOTOCATALYTIC ACTIVITY

        In this paper, a facile two-step synthesis route combining an electrospinning technique and vaportransport deposition method has been accepted as a straightforward protocol for the exploitationof ZnO/carbon nano¯bers (CNFs) hierarchical heterostructures which are composed of ZnOnanorods on the surface of CNFs. Photocatalytic tests display that the ZnO/CNFs hetero-structures possess degrading Rhodamine B (RB) at a much higher rate than pure ZnO. Theenhanced photocatalytic activity could be attributed to the e®ective separation of photo-generated carriers driven by the photoinduced potential di®erence, which is generated at theZnO/CNFs heterojunction interface. Moreover, the heterostructures could be reclaimed easily bysedimentation without a decrease of the photocatalytic activity. Such simple and versatilestrategy can provide a general way to fabricate other heterostructures, such as TiO 2 /CNFs.

        Progress towards stable blue light-emitting polymers

        New routes have been developed for the synthesis of blue-emitting conjugated polymers designed to show stable blue-emission inLEDs. Fluorenes bearing polyphenylene dendrimer side-chains have been made by a new route in which the dendrimer substituentsare built up on a biphenyl which is then ring-closed to give the uorene. This route can be used to make uorenes with a range offunctionalised rst and second generation dendrimer substituents, as monomers for new blue-emitting polymers. Polyindenouo-renes bearing aryl substituents have been made and found to display much stabler blue-emission than previous polyindenouorenes.

      • Relationship between Risk Perception, Satisfaction and Behavioral Intention among Customers of Trampoline Theme Park

        PURPOSE The main objective of this study was to validate the structural equation model of customer risk perception, satisfaction, and behavioral intention at Shenyang trampoline theme park. METHOD Study subjects included participants at six trampoline subject parks in Shenyang City. In this study, 312 questionnaires were distributed, 31 invalid questionnaires were removed for reasons such as being incomplete or incorrect. A total of 281 questionnaires were collected and used for analyses performed using SPSS 2.4 and Amos for hypothesis testing. Collected data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equation modeling methods. RESULT Study results found (1) risk prevention had a direct effect on revisit intention and recommendation intention, and (2) the relationship between risk prevention and behavioral intention was moderated by satisfaction. CONCLUSION These findings confirm the importance of risk prevention, satisfaction and behavioral intentions in the recreational sport industry, which relevant management organizers should focus on and make practical efforts from multiple foundational aspects such as facilities, management, funding, It is expected that this study will contribute to the development of sport leisure industry. At the same time, this study also has limitations. Firstly, the study sample was only from Shenyang City and may not be representative of the rest of China. Samples could be collected in more regions in the future to improve the validity of the model. Secondly, only satisfaction was used as a mediator, and it is suggested that other variables could be added as mediating variables through questionnaires and a SPSS analysis to better explore the relationship between risk prevention, satisfaction, and behavioral intentions.

        Fertility and prognosis assessment between bleomycin/etoposide/cisplatin and paclitaxel/carboplatin chemotherapy regimens in the conservative treatment of malignant ovarian germ cell tumors: a multicenter and retrospective study

        Objective: To evaluate the impact of bleomycin/etoposide/cisplatin (BEP) and paclitaxel/carboplatin (PC) chemotherapy regimens on the fertility and prognostic outcomes in malignant ovarian germ cell tumor (MOGCT) patients who underwent fertility-sparing surgery (FSS). Methods: A propensity score matching algorithm was performed between the BEP and PC groups. The χ2 test and the Kaplan-Meier method were used to compare the fertility outcome, disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS). The Cox proportional hazards regression analysis was used to identify risk factor of DFS. Results: We included 213 patients, 185 (86.9%) underwent BEP chemotherapy, and 28 (13.1%) underwent PC chemotherapy. The median age was 22 years (range, 8–44 years), and the median follow-up period was 63 months (range, 2–191 months). Fifty-one (29.3%) patients had a pregnancy plan, and 35 (85.4%) delivered successfully. In the before and after propensity score matching cohorts, there were no significant differences in spontaneous abortion, selective termination of pregnancy, during-pregnancy status, and live birth between the BEP and PC groups (p>0.05). Fourteen (6.6%) patients experienced recurrence, including 11 (5.9%) in the BEP group and 3 (10.7%) in the PC group. Four (1.9%) patients in the BEP group died. Kaplan-Meier analysis revealed no significant differences in DFS (p=0.328) and OS (p=0.446) between the BEP and PC groups, and the same survival results were observed in the after matching cohort. Conclusion: The PC regimen is as safe as the BEP regimen for MOGCT patients with fertility preservation treatment, and no differences were observed in fertility and clinical prognosis.

        Glia maturation factor beta deficiency protects against diabetic osteoporosis by suppressing osteoclast hyperactivity

        Excessive osteoclast activation, which depends on dramatic changes in actin dynamics, causes osteoporosis (OP). The molecular mechanism of osteoclast activation in OP related to type 1 diabetes (T1D) remains unclear. Glia maturation factor beta (GMFB) is considered a growth and differentiation factor for both glia and neurons. Here, we demonstrated that Gmfb deficiency effectively ameliorated the phenotype of T1D-OP in rats by inhibiting osteoclast hyperactivity. In vitro assays showed that GMFB participated in osteoclast activation rather than proliferation. Gmfb deficiency did not affect osteoclast sealing zone (SZ) formation but effectively decreased the SZ area by decreasing actin depolymerization. When GMFB was overexpressed in Gmfb-deficient osteoclasts, the size of the SZ area was enlarged in a dose-dependent manner. Moreover, decreased actin depolymerization led to a decrease in nuclear G-actin, which activated MKL1/SRF-dependent gene transcription. We found that pro-osteoclastogenic factors (Mmp9 and Mmp14) were downregulated, while anti-osteoclastogenic factors (Cftr and Fhl2) were upregulated in Gmfb KO osteoclasts. A GMFB inhibitor, DS-30, targeting the binding site of GMFB and Arp2/3, was obtained. Biocore analysis revealed a high affinity between DS-30 and GMFB in a dose-dependent manner. As expected, DS-30 strongly suppressed osteoclast hyperactivity in vivo and in vitro. In conclusion, our work identified a new therapeutic strategy for T1D-OP treatment. The discovery of GMFB inhibitors will contribute to translational research on T1D-OP.
