        Temporal Changes of Psychosocial Status in Neuroblastoma Survivors Over Time

        Objectives The survival rate of all childhood cancers has been increasing, and latent effects on childhood cancer survivors have been gaining researchers attention. It has been shown that childhood cancer survivors experience social maladaptation and a decreased quality of life. Although neuroblastoma is one of the most common solid cancers in childhood, there are few reports on psychosocial status in neuroblastoma survivors. The purpose of this study was to investigate temporal changes in psychosocial status in neuroblastoma survivors. Methods This study was conducted by undertaking retrospective chart reviews of neuroblastoma survivors that were treated between January 1997 and February 2016 at Samsung Medical Center, Seoul, Korea. Among the 54 survivors identified, data for 28 patients who underwent psychological evaluation before and after treatment completion were selected for further analysis. We compared intelligence score, Korea- Child Behavior Checklist (K- CBCL), and Korean Personality Rating Scale for Children (K- PRC) scores before and after treatment completion. Time derivatives for each variable were calculated to identify temporal changes in scores. Results After treatment completion, K- CBCL scores for total competence (t=−2.34, p=0.044), somatic complaints (t=−2.43, p=0.022), and thought problems (t=−3.03, p=0.006) were higher than the scores prior to treatment. Familial relationship in K- PRC was significantly improved after treatment (t=2.11, p=0.045). Time derivatives of the significant K- CBCL subscales, except for the withdrawal and externalizing symptom scores, showed a tendency to increase with time. Conclusion Although familial relationship and social competence improved after treatment, the levels of somatic complaints and thought problems increased following neuroblastoma treatment.

        지속가능발전지향 유아 창의인성 교육 프로그램 개발

        본 연구는 지속가능발전지향 유아 창의인성교육 프로그램을 개발을 목적으로 관련 문헌 고찰을 통해 지속가능발전지향과 창의인성에 대한 요소를 추출하여 프로그램의 이론적 준거를 마련하였다. 구성된 이론적 준거를 토대로 전문가협의회를 통해 실제적 준거를 세워 프로그램 기본 방향을 설정하고 프로그램 1차 시안을 구성하였다. 구성된 프로그램 시안은 전문가의 검토를 거쳐 수정한 후 충북 소재 4개 공립 유치원, 만 5세 8개 학급 189명의 유아를 대상으로 현장 적용을 실시하였다. 현장 적용 모니터링 결과와 현장 적용에 참여한 8명의 교사들의 의견을 반영하여 프로그램 1차 시안을 수정하여 2차 시안을 구성하였으며, 구성된 2차 시안은 유아교육전문가와 현장전문가의 2차 검증 과정을 거쳐 전문가들의 의견을 반영하여 수정한 후 지속가능발전지향 유아 창의인성교육 프로그램 최종안을 구성하였다. 프로그램 최종안은 ‘소중해요, 함께해요, 나누어요’ 라는 3가지 주제로 구성하였으며, 각 주제별로 3개의 소주제씩, 총 54개의 활동이 개발되었다. The purpose of this study is to develop a ‘sustainable development - oriented creativity character education program’ for 5-year-old children. First, theoretical criteria and frame of the program were established by drawing factors related to sustainable development, creativity and character from review of previous studies and related documents. Then direction and draft of the program were settled through professionals’ discussion based on established theoretical basis. The draft of the program was revised twice to reflect the opinions of teachers who participated in the field application conducted onto 189 children from 8 classes in 4 kindergartens in Chungbuk province and the result of program monitoring. Finally, a sustainable development-oriented creativity education program for 5-year-old children has been developed after another round of professionals’ and teachers’ review and validation. The program is composed of 3 main categories, where each main category has 3 sub-categories and 54 activities.

        유치원교사의 유아인성교육에 대한 관점 및 실제

        본 연구는 유치원교사를 대상으로 유아인성교육에 대한 실천 사례와 유아인성교육에 대한 관점을 수집하여 유아인성교육의 현황을 파악하고 이를 토대로 유아인성교육에 대한 방향 및 지향점 모색에 도움을 주고자 한다. 이를 위하여 A 교육대학원에 재학 중인 유치원교사 90명을 대상으로 집단 및 개인 면담을 통해 유아인성교육 실천사례, 유아인성교육에 대한 관점 및 교육 실행에서의 어려움에 대한 자료를 수집하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유아인성교육 실천사례에 대한 분석 결과, 교육 내용으로는 대인관계에 관한 내용이 가장 많았고, 교육방법으로는 자원기반 활동이 가장 많았다. 둘째, 유치원교사들은 유아인성교육에 대해 배려공동체적 관점과 사회·정서적 관점을 가장 많이 가지고 있었다. 셋째, 유치원교사들은 유아인성교육 실행 시 인성교육이 가진 특수성, 가정과의 연계 및 유아의 발달적 특징으로 인한 어려움이 있다고 하였다. 결론적으로 유아인성교육이 인성함양이라는 교육의 목적을 달성하기 위해서는 교육현장에서 교사들이 인성교육의 방향과 정체성에 대해 깊이 있는 성찰을 통해 유아인성교육을 실행하는 것이 필요하며, 이를 위해 실천적 지식을 배양할 수 있는 교사교육과 함께 인성교육의 목적과 방향성에 대한 지속적 논의와 관심이 필요함을 제안하였다. The purpose of this study was to establish the direction of character education based on the investigation and analysis of the teachers’ perspectives on the character education and practice in the kindergarten. Group and individual interviews were conducted with 90 kindergarten teachers. The study results are as follows. First, interpersonal relationships were the most common in educational contents, and resource-based activities were the most common in method of character education. Second, most teachers who participated in the study had community of care and socio-emotional perspective on the character education. Third, there were difficulties in implementing character education due to the characteristics of character education, disconnection with family, and developmental characteristics. In conclusion, continuous discussion on educational purpose along with teacher education is necessary to practice character education through in-depth reflection on the direction of education.

      • 공공언어 정확성 진단 기준에 대한 비판적 검토 및 제언

        The purpose of this study is to review and provide the diagnostic criteria on ‘correctness’, one of the two diagnostic criteria which are ‘mutual intelligibility’ and ‘correctness’, on the guidelines of public language policy enacted by Basic Act of Korean National language. The major recommendations proposed in this paper are as follows. First, with regard to correctness in the diagnostic criteria of public language, the hierarchy of ‘mutual intelligibility’ and ‘correctness’ of language should be consistently presented. Second, the word ‘Dallak(단락)’, which is translated to ‘paragraph’ in English should be changed to ‘Mundan(문단)’, which is also translated to ‘paragraph’, as used in textbooks. Regarding paragraph writing, detailed instructions on ‘indentation’ and ‘letter-spacing’ should be carefully considered. Third, a certain degree of accuracy in public language needs to be embodied. Ambiguous requirements should also be considered for further discussion. Fourth, with regard to translationese, that is awkward uses of language in translated texts which are hardly found in non-translated texts, case-by-case studies and clear requirements are inevitably necessary. In addition, strong regulations against the violation of standard notation in public language policy with intended values of mutual intelligibility and empathy, are needed..

        지속가능발전교육 수업에 참여한 유치원 교사 인식의 변화과정 탐색

        본 연구의 목적은 지속가능발전교육 수업에 참여한 유치원 교사들의 지속가능발전교육에 대한 인식을탐색하는 것이다. 이러한 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 H 교육대학원에 재학 중인 42명의 유치원 교사들이6주간 지속가능발전교육 수업에 참여하며 작성한 반성적 저널과 토론 및 면담 자료를 수집하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 유치원 교사들은 지속가능발전교육 수업 초기 유아기 지속가능발전교육에 대한 필요성을 인정하였으나 지속가능발전교육의 개념 이해에는 어려움을 나타냈다. 또한 유아기 지속가능발전교육을 실행하는데있어 교육적 가치와 유아 발달의 적합성 사이에서 갈등하였고, 특히 유아중심, 놀이중심을 강조하는 국가수준교육과정과의 연계를 어려운 과제로 인식하였다. 점차 수업에 참여하며 지식이나 체험 위주의 환경교육을뛰어 넘어 삶의 가치와 연결되는 지속가능발전교육이 필요함을 인식하게 되었고, 자신의 일상을 돌아보며실제 삶과 분리된 탈맥락적 교육 행위에 대해 갈등하게 되었다. 마지막으로 지속가능발전교육을 인간과세상에 대한 새로운 관점을 통해 미래를 살아갈 역량을 키워주는 교육, 삶을 위한 교육이라고 인식하게되었다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 지속가능발전교육에 대한 실천적 역량 배양이 가능한 교사양성교육이 필요함을 제언하였다. The purpose of this study is to explore changes in kindergarten teachers’ awareness of sustainable development education who were participated in a Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) course in a graduate program of H university in Korea. For this study, data from reflective journals, discussions, and interviews of 42 kindergarten teachers enrolled in the H Graduate School of Education were collected and analyzed. The findings of the study indicated that kindergarten teachers acknowledged a need for ESD in early childhood education, but displayed difficulties in understanding the concepts of ESD. They experienced some conflicts between educational values and young children’s developmental appropriateness in implementing ESD. In particular, they reported difficulties in linking ESD with the current national curriculum, which emphasizes a more child-focused and play-centered program. However, while teachers have been able to recognize and take in ESD, there is a notable conflict with decentralized educational behavior that is separate from real life which focuses on life values beyond knowledge and experience-oriented environmental education. Nonetheless, participants recognized ESD as education that fosters young children’s competency for thriving in the future. The results suggest that teacher training with ESD is necessary as to develop practical competencies as well as philosophical approaches in accordance with ESD.

        5세 누리과정 교사용 지도서의 지속가능발전교육 내용 분포 및 연결망 분석

        본 연구는 지속가능발전교육의 측면에서 5세 누리과정 교사용 지도서에 나타난 지속가능발전 교육내용의 분포 및 연결망을 분석하여 유아기 지속가능발전교육의 실행방향을 모색하고자 한다. 이를 위해 5세 누리과정 교사용 지도서 11권 중 지속가능발전 교육내용의 분포를 파악하고 생활주제와 교육내용에 대해 사회연결망 분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 5세 누리과정 교사용 지도서에서는 사회적 지속가능성 영역의 교육내용이 가장 많았으며, 그 중에 ‘지역문화’를 다룬 활동이 가장 많았다. 생활주제로는 ‘우리 동네’에 가장 많이 분포되어 있었다. 둘째, 생활주제와 지속가능발전교육내용과의 사회연결망 분석에서 ‘우리나라’는 ‘지역문화’와 ‘건강과 안전’은 ‘건강’과 높은 연결정도를 나타냈다. 셋째, ‘지속가능한 생산과 소비’, ‘지역문화’, ‘민주시민’, ‘건강’이 공동 참여 연결망에서 강한 연결성을 나타내어 지속가능발전교육의 핵심내용임을 알 수 있었다. 이를 통해 5세 누리과정 교사용 지도서 활동으로 지속가능발전교육을 실행할 수 있는 가능성이 있음을 확인하였고, 통합적인 지속가능발전교육이 실행되어야 함을 제안하였다. The purpose of this study is to analyze how the contents and networks of education for sustainable development (ESD) are reflected and connected in teacher"s manual for 5-year-old"s Nuri curriculum and to propose how to implement ESD in early childhood education. For this, the research team analyzed contents and networks of teacher"s manual (eleven themes) for 5-year-old"s Nuri curriculum based on ESD. It was found that social sustainability, especially activities that deal with ‘local culture" was the most emphasized contents in teacher"s manual for 5-year-old"s Nuri curriculum. Second, the analysis of social network demonstrated strong connection between ‘our country’ and ‘local culture,’ as well as ‘health and safety’ and ‘health.’ Third, strong connection among ‘sustainable product and consumption,’ ‘local culture,’ ‘democratic citizen,’ and ‘health’ proved their significance within ESD networks. By these results, it was confirmed that there is a possibility of implementing ESD in Nuri curriculum and proposed ESD should be integrated in early childhood education.

      • An ultra-thin, un-doped NiO hole transporting layer of highly efficient (16.4%) organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite solar cells

        <P>NiO is a wide band gap p-type oxide semiconductor and has potential for applications in solar energy conversion as a hole-transporting layer (HTL). It also has good optical transparency and high chemical stability, and the capability of aligning the band edges to the perovskite (CH3NH3PbI3) layers. Ultra-thin and undoped NiO films with much less absorption loss were prepared by atomic layer deposition (ALD) with highly precise control over thickness without any pinholes. Thin enough (5-7.5 nm in thickness) NiO films with the thickness of few time the Debye length (L-D = 1-2 nm for NiO) show enough conductivities achieved by overlapping space charge regions. The inverted planar perovskite solar cells with NiO films as HTLs exhibited the highest energy conversion efficiency of 16.40% with high open circuit voltage (1.04 V) and fill factor (0.72) with negligible current-voltage hysteresis.</P>

      • Rapid Fabrication of an Inverse Opal TiO<sub>2</sub> Photoelectrode for DSSC Using a Binary Mixture of TiO<sub>2</sub> Nanoparticles and Polymer Microspheres

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>A rapid fabrication method of highly reflective TiO<SUB>2</SUB> inverse opal (IO) film exhibiting controllable thickness, high TiO<SUB>2</SUB> content, and excellent interfacial contact with glass substrate is presented. By inducing accelerated solvent evaporation during the colloidal self‐assembly process, a composite film of polystyrene (PS)/TiO<SUB>2</SUB> has been directly fabricated on a fluorine doped tin oxide (FTO) glass substrate, which exhibits the highly ordered opaline structure of PS embedded into the TiO<SUB>2</SUB> matrix. This hybrid fabrication path leads to the formation of layers with the preferred {111} face‐centered cubic (FCC) orientation parallel to the substrate and to produce a 1 cm<SUP>2</SUP>‐wide well‐ordered composite colloidal crystal film in less than 30 min. The film showed highly ordered FCC structure, particularly at the upper region, due to the induced solvent evaporation and exhibited a reliable light modulation at a reflectance mode. Regardless of the size of sacrificial PS microspheres, TiO<SUB>2</SUB> IO films of controllable thickness were successfully formed by varying the moving speed of the fabrication cell. The binary aqueous dispersion of tailor‐made anatase TiO<SUB>2</SUB> nanoparticles and monodisperse PS microspheres showed a high degree of dispersion stability under basic conditions. Hydrothermal treatment of the TiO<SUB>2</SUB> dispersion favored the crystallinity of the coated film and provided small volume contraction after thermal calcinations. The high degree of dispersion stability enabled to increase TiO<SUB>2</SUB> content in a binary mixture, which is more favorable toward the robust and large‐area IO film. The calcined films exhibited excellent mechanical robustness and intimate interfacial contact with the glass substrate. which in turn resulted in higher TiO<SUB>2</SUB> content near the glass substrate. The TiO<SUB>2</SUB> IO film was tested as a dye‐sensitized solar cell (DSSC) photoelectrode, and a single cell showed a relatively high photon‐to‐current conversion efficiency of 4.2%. The high TiO<SUB>2</SUB> content of IO film and its good adhesion to the FTO subratrate remarkably improved in the performance of the solar cell compared to the previous investigations where post‐infiltration of TiO<SUB>2</SUB> had been employed.</P>

        Enhancement of 1-Deoxynojirimycin Production by Optimizing the Conditions for Mulberry Leaf Extract Fermentation by Lactobacillus plantarum

        1-Deoxynojirimycin (DNJ), an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor, has been used to prevent or treat type 2 diabetes. Low amounts of DNJ are found in mulberry leaf; however, a methodology is necessary to enhance the DNJ content of mulberry leaf extract (MLE) since increasing the amounts of DNJ is required for the prevention and treatment of type 2 diabetes. In this study, the DNJ content of MLE was increased through the optimization of the conditions for MLE fermentation by Lactobacillus plantarum SG-053, using response surface methodology (RSM). By single factor testing, the optimal conditions were identified as an inoculum concentration of 1%(v/v), an MLE concentration of 3°Bx, and no agitation. Based on a Plackett-Burman design, the following factors were considered to majorly affect the DNJ content in the MLE fermentation product: the initial pH, fermentation temperature, and fermentation time. By response surface methodology, the optimal conditions for MLE fermentation was found to have an initial pH of 5.5, a fermentation temperature of 31.9℃, and a fermentation time of 34 h. Under these optimal fermentation conditions, the DNJ content in MLE increased 3.59 times, or from 23.85 to 85.54 μg/mL.

      • Inhibitory Effect of Artemisia scoparia Extract on the UV-induced MMP Expression in Human Dermal Fibroblasts

        The halophyte Artemisia scoparia has been used as a folk medicine for the treatment of inflammation, urethritis and hemorrhage. Recent studies have shown that A. scoparia had physiological activities such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-obesity. In this study, the effect of A. scoparia on photoaging in HDF cells was investigated by using its crude extract and solvent fractions (n-hexane, 85% aq. MeOH, n-BuOH and H₂O). Based on the results of this study, A. scoparia was suggested as a potential source for functional raw materials for the cosmetic industry. Furthermore, the studies that can verify the active ingredients of A. scoparia will contribute immensely to the research and development of cosmeceuticals from halophytes. Also, future studies using A. scoparia as a cosmetic material source are expected to produce high value-added resources unknown to applied dermatology field and strengthen the competitiveness of the domestic cosmetics industry by while promoting the utilization of undervalued coastal wetland plants.
