      • Radiosensitivity Enhancement by Arsenic Trioxide in Conjunction with Hyperthermia in the EC-1 Esophageal Carcinoma Cell Line

        Objective: To explore the effect on radiosensitivity of arsenic trioxide ($As_20_3$) in conjunction with hyperthermia on the esophageal carcinoma EC-1 cell line. Method: Inhibition of EC-1 cell proliferation at different concentrations of $As_20_3$ was assessed using the methyl thiazolyl blue colorimetric method (MTT method), with calculation of $IC_{50}$ value and choice of 20% of the $IC_{50}$ as the experimental drug concentration. Blank control, $As_20_3$, hyperthermia, radiotherapy group, $As_20_3$ + hyperthermia, $As_20_3$ + radiotherapy, hyperthermia + radiotherapy and $As_20_3$ + hyperthermia + radiotherapy groups were established, and the cell survival fraction (SF) was calculated from flat panel colony forming analysis, and fitted by the 'multitarget click mathematical model'. Flow cytometry (FCM) was used to detect changes in cell apoptosis and the cell cycle. Results: $As_20_3$ exerted inhibitory effects on proliferation of esophageal carcinoma EC-1 cells, with an $IC_{50}$ of 18.7 ${\mu}mol/L$. After joint therapy of $As_20_3$ + hyperthermia + radiotherapy, the results of FCM showed that cells could be arrested in the $G_2$/M phase, and as the ratio of cells in $G_0/G_1$ and S phases decreased, cell death became more pronounced. Conclusion: $As_20_3$ and hyperthermia exert radiosensitivity effects on esophageal carcinoma EC-1 cells, with synergy in combination. Mechanistically, $As_20_3$ and hyperthermia mainly influence the cell cycle distribution of EC-1 esophageal carcinoma cells, decreasing the repair of sublethal damage and inducing apoptosis, thereby enhancing the killing effects of radioactive rays.

        Non-atypical endometrial hyperplasia: risk factors for occult endometrial atypia and malignancy in patients managed with hysterectomy

        ObjectiveTo determine the risk factors for occult endometrial atypia and malignancy in patients diagnosed with non-atypicalendometrial hyperplasia (NEH) on endometrial biopsy. MethodsAll new cases of NEH diagnosed between April 2015 and March 2016 at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, whounderwent hysterectomy as first-line treatment, were included in the study. Patients with a history of endometrialhyperplasia or malignancy were excluded from the study. Patient demographics (e.g., age, parity, body mass index[BMI]), medical history, and clinical presentation were obtained for analysis. ResultsIn total, 262 patients were diagnosed with NEH, of which 18.3% (n=48) underwent hysterectomy as first-linemanagement. The average time to surgery was 77.0±35.7 days. All cases were diagnosed by dilation and curettage,and hysteroscopy. The mean age was 51 years, and the mean BMI was 26.9±5.8 kg/m2. Histology from thehysterectomy specimen showed 9 (18.8%) patients with atypical hyperplasia and 2 (4.2%) with grade 1, stage 1Aendometrioid adenocarcinoma. Patients with higher grade final pathology had significantly lower median parity(1 vs. 2, P=0.039), higher mean BMI (30.1±6.5 vs. 25.9±5.3 kg/m2, P=0.033), and BMI ≥30 kg/m2 (54.5% vs. 13.5%,P=0.008, odds ratio 7.68), compared to patients whose final histology showed NEH or no residual hyperplasia. ConclusionOccult endometrial atypia and malignancy were found in 18.8% and 4.2% of patients with an initial diagnosis of NEH,respectively. High BMI and low parity were identified as significant risk factors for high-grade endometrial lesions inpatients with NEH.

        Augmenter of Liver Regeneration Alleviates Renal Hypoxia-Reoxygenation Injury by Regulating Mitochondrial Dynamics in Renal Tubular Epithelial Cells

        Mitochondria are highly dynamic organelles that constantly undergo fission and fusion processes that closely related to their function. Disruption of mitochondrial dynamics has been demonstrated in acute kidney injury (AKI), which could eventually result in cell injury and death. Previously, we reported that augmenter of liver regeneration (ALR) alleviates renal tubular epithelial cell injury. Here, we gained further insights into whether the renoprotective roles of ALR are associated with mitochondrial dynamics. Changes in mitochondrial dynamics were examined in experimental models of renal ischemia-reperfusion (IR). In a model of hypoxia-reoxygenation (HR) injury in vitro, dynamin-related protein 1 (Drp1) and mitochondrial fission process protein 1 (MTFP1), two key proteins of mitochondrial fission, were downregulated in the Lv-ALR + HR group. ALR overexpression additionally had an impact on phosphorylation of Drp1 Ser637 during AKI. The inner membrane fusion protein, Optic Atrophy 1 (OPA1), was significantly increased whereas levels of outer membrane fusion proteins Mitofusin-1 and -2 (Mfn1, Mfn2) were not affected in the Lv-ALR + HR group, compared with the control group. Furthermore, the mTOR/4E-BP1 signaling pathway was highly activated in the Lv-ALR + HR group. ALR overexpression led to suppression of HR-induced apoptosis. Our collective findings indicate that ALR gene transfection alleviates mitochondrial injury, possibly through inhibiting fission and promoting fusion of the mitochondrial inner membrane, both of which contribute to reduction of HK-2 cell apoptosis. Additionally, fission processes are potentially mediated by promoting tubular cell survival through activating the mTOR/4E-BP1 signaling pathway.

        Canonical Transient Receptor Potential Channels and Their Link with Cardio/Cerebro-Vascular Diseases

        The canonical transient receptor potential channels (TRPCs) constitute a series of nonselective cation channels with variable degrees of $Ca^{2+}$ selectivity. TRPCs consist of seven mammalian members, TRPC1, TRPC2, TRPC3, TRPC4, TRPC5, TRPC6, and TRPC7, which are further divided into four subtypes, TRPC1, TRPC2, TRPC4/5, and TRPC3/6/7. These channels take charge of various essential cell functions such as contraction, relaxation, proliferation, and dysfunction. This review, organized into seven main sections, will provide an overview of current knowledge about the underlying pathogenesis of TRPCs in cardio/cerebro-vascular diseases, including hypertension, pulmonary arterial hypertension, cardiac hypertrophy, atherosclerosis, arrhythmia, and cerebrovascular ischemia reperfusion injury. Collectively, TRPCs could become a group of drug targets with important physiological functions for the therapy of human cardio/cerebro-vascular diseases.

The writer explores Jiang Wen’s artistic characters by analyzing the four films, in which we can see his special style of art are: primitive desire, personality of black humor, exotic romantic performance, strong visual impact and unconventional auditory perception. This article analyses the reasons of this special art style emerged in Jiang Wen’s films which are from his growth experience, learning practice and pursuit of art. This paper shows us the great importance of Jiang’s film style to Chinese film industry.

        Intraday Pattern in Bid-Ask Spreads and Its Power-Law Relaxation for Chinese A-Share Stocks

        We use high-frequency data of 1364 Chinese A-share stocks traded on the Shanghai Stock Exchange and Shenzhen Stock Exchange to investigate the intraday patterns in the bid-ask spreads. The daily periodicity in the spread time series is confirmed by using a Lomb analysis and the intraday bid-ask spreads are found to exhibit an L-shaped pattern with an idiosyncratic fine structure. The intraday spread of individual stocks relaxes as a power law within the first hour of the continuous double auction from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM with exponents βSHSE = 0.19 0.067 for the Shanghai market and βSZSE = 0.18 0.069 for the Shenzhen market. The power-law relaxation exponent β of individual stocks is roughly normally distributed. There is evidence showing that the accumulation of information widening the spread is an endogenous process.

        Analysis and Prediction of Regional Land Subsidence with InSAR Technology and Machine Learning Algorithm

        As a worldwide environmental and geological disaster, land subsidence may cause serious harm to urban development. Therefore, the prediction of land subsidence is a key scientific problem. Decheng county, Shandong Province in China is taken as the research object. Based on BP neural network (BPNN) and random forest (RF) method, the analysis and prediction of regional land subsidence are carried out by applying multi-source monitoring data, Geographic Information System (GIS), and machine learning algorithm. Combined with Short Baseline Synthetic Aperture Interferometric Radar (SBAS-InSAR) and GIS technology, the spatio-temporal evolution characteristics of land subsidence from 2017 to 2020 are analyzed. The impact of different groundwater levels on land subsidence is quantitatively analyzed by BPNN and RF algorithm. The real-time prediction model of regional land subsidence is established. The results show that: 1) The area with the most serious land subsidence is located in Songguantun town, the maximum annual average subsidence rate is -40.71 mm/yr. 2) Land subsidence is mainly affected by deep groundwater and shallow groundwater in the research area. 3) The accuracy of the prediction results of the BPNN model is higher than that of the RF model when groundwater level change is used to predict land subsidence.

        Influence of different fatigue loads and coating thicknesses on service performance of RC beam specimens with epoxy-coated reinforcement

        Epoxy-coated reinforcing bars are widely used to protect the corrosion of the reinforcing bars in the RC elements under their in-service environments and external loads. In most field surveys, it was reported that the corrosion resistance of the epoxy-coated reinforcing bars is typically better than the uncoated bars. However, from the experimental tests conducted in the labs, it was reported that, under the same loads, the RC elements with epoxy-coated reinforcing bars had wider cracks than the elements reinforced with the ordinary bars. Although this conclusion may be true considering the bond reduction of the reinforcing bar due to the epoxy coating, the maximum service loads used in the experimental research may be a main reason. To answer these two phenomena, service performance of 15 RC beam specimens with uncoated and epoxy-coated reinforcements under different fatigue loads was experimentally studied. Influences of different coating thicknesses of the reinforcing bars, the fatigue load range and load upper limit as well as fatigue load cycles on the mechanical performance of RC test specimens are discussed. It is concluded that, for the test specimens subjected to the comparatively lower load range and load upper limit, adverse effect on the service performance of test specimens with thicker epoxy-coated reinforcing bars is negligible. With the increments of the coating thickness and the in-service loading level, i.e., fatigue load range, load upper limit and fatigue cycles, the adverse factor resulting from the thicker coating becomes noticeable.

        As the information was being overloaded from time to time, a significant technique should be accomplished by several search engines that exists will use from the databases to eradicate the replicas of data which was available in articles and to present the outcomes of the search to users in terms of percentage of the amount of the data copied from the original file. Plagiarism is the process of bestowing one’s creative ideas as our individual conception. It is does not meant that anybody cannot use other’s considerations or workings, anybody can use their data by giving the actual credit the original users by stating their names in literature or in references and also by giving special note on acknowledgements. Copying the content of the others work is mainly considered to be a big crime in terms of research and in terms of the owning the idea of the others. The main idea of this work is to identify the extent of the data that was being copied or to identify the amount of data that was being copied from other peoples work or their own credited work. Performance of plagiarizing a document is not limited to word files or pdf files, it is possible to plagiarize even images and other files too. Hence, we were focused on finding the plagiarism in word files which includes academics and research articles.
