Novel P/N/Si/S-containing Mononickel Complex as a Metal-based Intumescent Flame Retardant for Cotton Fabrics

        Meng-Yuan Hu,Kuan-Kuan Xiong,Jian-Rong Li,Xing-Bin Jing,Pei-Hua Zhao 한국섬유공학회 2019 Fibers and polymers Vol.20 No.9

A new P/N/Si/S-containing mononickel complex NiS, which can be regarded as a rare type of the metal-basedintumescent flame retardant, has been prepared through the condensation reaction of precursor NiCl with 1, 2-ethanedithiolin the presence of triethylamine as acid-binding agent. Its molecular structure is well characterized by elemental analysis, infrared (IR) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopies. The target flame retardant NiS has been successfullyapplied to cotton fabrics through a pad-dry-cure method. Thermal degradation properties of neat and treated cotton fabricswith 10.7 wt% NiS are studied by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Flammability behaviors of neat and treated cotton with10.7 wt% NiS are evaluated using vertical burning test, limiting oxygen index (LOI) and microscale combustion calorimeter(MCC). Meanwhile, to further investigate the flame retardancy of NiS for cotton fabrics, the char layers of neat and treatedsamples after combustion are analyzed by SEM image and Raman spectroscopy. As a result, the improved thermal andflammability performance for cotton fabrics by introduction of NiS might be due to the metal-assisted catalytic charringeffect of NiS on the formation of the compact char layer and the release of the flammable gas.

Lipidomic profiling of Skipjack tuna (Katsuwonus pelamis) by ultrahigh-performance liquid chromatography coupled to high resolution mass spectrometry

        Hu, Lingping,Hu, Zhiheng,Chin, Yaoxian,Yu, Haixia,Xu, Jianhong,Zhou, Jianwei,Liu, Donghong,Kang, Mengli,Hu, Yaqin The Korean Society of Fisheries and Aquatic Scienc 2022 Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences Vol.25 No.3

A method of ultrahigh performance liquid chromatography coupled to high resolution mass spectrometry (UPLC-HRMS) was established for characterization of the lipid profile of Skipjack tuna. Over 300 lipid molecular species were identified through cross-acquisition in both positive and negative ion mode. Phospholipids (PLs) were dominant in Skipjack tuna. Lysophosphatidylethanolamine (LPE), phosphatidylethanolamine (PE), lysophosphatidylcholine (LPC) and phosphatidylcholine (PC) were the main lipid molecular species in PLs, accounting for 89.24% of the total PLs. The ratio of sphingolipids (SLs) and glycerolipids (GLs) were considerable, accounting for 12.30% and 13.60% of the total lipids respectively. Ceramide (Cer) was the main lipid molecular species of SLs, accounting for 64.96% of total SLs, followed by sphingomyelin (SM), accounting for 25.45% of total SLs. Ether diglycerides (ether DG) were the main lipid molecular species of GLs (97.83%). The main fatty acids (FAs) are unsaturated fatty acids (UFAs) in Skipjack tuna. Besides, a new FAs class branched fatty acid esters of hydroxy fatty acids (FAHFA) was detected, together with the FA. The active lipids identified in this study can be used to evaluate the nutritional value of Skipjack tuna.

      • Down-regulation of miRNA-452 is Associated with Adriamycin-resistance in Breast Cancer Cells

        Hu, Qing,Gong, Jian-Ping,Li, Jian,Zhong, Shan-Liang,Chen, Wei-Xian,Zhang, Jun-Ying,Ma, Teng-Fei,Ji, Hao,Lv, Meng-Meng,Zhao, Jian-Hua,Tang, Jin-Hai Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.13

Adriamycin (ADR) is an important chemotherapeutic agent frequently used in treatment of breast cancer. However, resistance to ADR results in treatment failure in many patients. Recent studies have indicated that microRNAs (miRNAs) may play an important role in such drug-resistance. In the present study, microRNA-452 (miR-452) was found to be significantly down-regulated in adriamycin-resistant MCF-7 cells (MCF-7/ADR) compared with the parental MCF-7 cells by miRNA microarray and real-time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR). MiR-452 mimics and inhibitors partially changed the adriamycin-resistance of breast cancer cells, as also confirmed by apoptosis assay. In exploring the potential mechanisms of miR-452 in the adriamycin-resistance of breast cancer cells, bioinformatics analysis, RT-qPCR and Western blotting showed that dysregulation of miR-452 played an important role in the acquired adriamycin-resistance of breast cancer, maybe at least in part via targeting insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor (IGF-1R).

Positive Observer Design for Linear Impulsive Positive Systems with Interval Uncertainties and Time Delay

        Meng-Jie Hu,Yan-Wu Wang,Jiang-Wen Xiao 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2017 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.15 No.3

This paper is concerned with the problem of positive observer design for impulsive positive systems(IPS) with interval uncertainties and time delay. A copositive Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional with exponentialterm is constructed. By applying the average impulsive interval method, sufficient conditions for the existence ofthe positive observer are established to guarantee the exponential stability of the corresponding augmented system, which ensures the designed positive observer can estimate the system states exponentially. Combined with the linearprogramming (LP) technique, an algorithm is developed to design the observer gain matrices. Finally, a numericalexample is provided to show the effectiveness of the theoretical results.

Corticotropin-releasing Factor Changes the Phenotype and Function of Dendritic Cells in Mouse Mesenteric Lymph Nodes

( Li Meng ),( Zhang Lu ),( Wang Xiaoteng ),( Hu Yue ),( Lu Bin ),( Meng Lina ),( Chen Zhe ) 대한소화기기능성질환·운동학회 2015 Journal of Neurogastroenterology and Motility (JNM Vol.21 No.4

Background/Aims Dendritic cells (DCs) are a significant contributor to the pathology of numerous chronic inflammatory autoimmune disorders; however, the effects of Corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF) on intestinal DCs are poorly understood. In this study, we investigated the role of CRF in alterations of intestinal dendritic cell phenotype and function. Methods Mouse mesenteric lymph node dendritic cells (MLNDCs) were obtained using magnetic bead sorting. Surface expression of CRF receptor type 1 (CRF-R1) and CRF-R2 was determined by double-labeling immunofluorescence and quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) and MLNDCs were subsequently exposed to CRF in the presence or absence of CRF-R1 and CRF-R2 antagonists. Expression of surface molecules (MHC-I and MHC-II) and co-stimulatory molecules (CD80 and CD86) was determined by flow cytometric and western blot analyses, and the T cell stimulatory capacity of MLNDCs was evaluated by mixed lymphocyte reaction. Results Immunofluorescent staining and quatitative polymerase chain reaction indicated that both the CRF receptors (CRF-R1 and CRF-2) are expressed on the surface of MLNDCs. Exposure to CRF increased the expression of MHC-II on MLNDCs as well as their capacity to stimulate T cell proliferation. MLNDCs treated with CRF-R1 antagonist exhibited a phenotype characterized by a less activated state and reduced surface expression of MHC-II, and consequently showed reduced capacity to stimulate T cells. In contrast, treatment of MLNDCs with CRF-R2 antagonist yielded an opposite result. Conclusions CRF can alter the phenotype and function of intestinal DCs through direct action on CRF-R1 and CRF-R2, and activation of the CRF-R1 and CRF-R2 pathways yields opposing outcomes.(J Neurogastroenterol Motil 2015;21:571-580)

Adaptive Algorithm in Image Reconstruction Based on Information Geometry

( Meng Wang ),( Zhen Hu Ning ),( Jing Yu ),( Chuang Bai Xiao ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2021 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.15 No.2

Compressed sensing in image reconstruction has attracted attention and many studies are proposed. As we know, adding prior knowledge about the distribution of the support on the original signal to CS can improve the quality of reconstruction. However, it is still difficult for a recovery framework adjusts its strategy for exploiting the prior knowledge efficiently according to the current estimated signals in serial iterations. With the theory of information geometry, we propose an adaptive strategy based on the current estimated signal in each iteration of the recovery. We also improve the performance of existing algorithms through the adaptive strategy for exploiting the prior knowledge according to the current estimated signal. Simulations are presented to validate the results. In the end, we also show the application of the model in the image.

Influence of the evolution of heat-resistant phases on elevated-temperature strengthening mechanism and deformation behavior in Al–Si multicomponent alloys

        Meng Fanchao,Wu Yuying,Li Wenbo,Hu Kaiqi,Zhao Kai,Yang Huabing,Gao Tong,Sun Yue,Liu Xiangfa 한국물리학회 2022 Current Applied Physics Vol.39 No.-

Evolution of the heat-resistant phases and deformation behavior of α-Al matrix of four alloys have been characterized by SEM and EBSD. The strengthening mechanisms influenced by morphology and distribution of the heat-resistant phases were described. And the strain contouring of the α-Al matrix after deformation was rendered. The heat-resistant phases with block-like as reticular or semi-reticular network distribution exist in grain boundary can effectively provide elevated-temperature strength for alloys, while the strain contouring of α-Al matrix is mainly concentrated in the area with fewer intermetallic phases. It is shown that intermetallic phase evolution corresponds to extrusion treatment and the formation of eutectic Si and primary Si, highly interconnected networks of intermetallic phases exist in the alloy in which the primary Si and the eutectic Si are simultaneously present or disappeared. And only the disappearance of the primary Si and the extrusion treatment will destroy the network structure of the intermetallic phases. A reticular or semi-reticular microstructure is more capable of matching strength and plasticity and facilitating uniform deformation of the α-Al matrix. And the destruction of this microstructure is allowed to accommodate more plastic strain before failure.

A Ripple-free Input Current Interleaved Converter with Dual Coupled Inductors for High Step-up Applications

Hu, Xuefeng,Zhang, Meng,Li, Yongchao,Li, Linpeng,Wu, Guiyang The Korean Institute of Power Electronics 2017 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.17 No.3

This paper presents a ripple-free input current modified interleaved boost converter for high step-up applications. By integrating dual coupled inductors and voltage multiplier techniques, the proposed converter can reach a high step-up gain without an extremely high turn-ON period. In addition, a very small auxiliary inductor employed in series to the input dc source makes the input current ripple theoretically decreased to zero, which simplifies the design of the electromagnetic interference (EMI) filter. In addition, the voltage stresses on the semiconductor devices of the proposed converter are efficiently reduced, which makes high performance MOSFETs with low voltage rated and low resistance $r_{DS}$(ON) available to reduce the cost and conduction loss. The operating principles and steady-state analyses of the proposed converter are introduced in detail. Finally, a prototype circuit rated at 400W with a 42-50V input voltage and a 400V output voltage is built and tested to verify the effectiveness of theoretical analysis. Experimental results show that an efficiency of 95.3% can be achieved.

      • Comparison of Ligasure Versus Conventional Surgery for Curative Gastric Cancer Resection: a Meta-Analysis

Hu, Tian-Peng,He, Xiang-Hui,Meng, Zhao-Wei,Jia, Qiang,Tan, Jian,Li, Xue Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2016 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.17 No.4

Background: The LigaSure vessel sealing system has been proposed to save operation time and reduce intraoperative blood loss for various surgeries. However, its usage for gastric cancer is still controversial. The aim of the present meta-analysis was to compare the effectiveness of LigaSure with conventional surgery in gastrectomy. Materials and Methods: Sources were retrieved from the Cochrane Library, MEDLINE, EMBASE, SCOPUS and Google Scholar until February, 2015. All randomized controlled trials comparing LigaSure with conventional surgery in curative gastric cancer resection were selected. After data extraction, statistics were performed by Review Manager 5.1 software. Results: Three eligible randomized controlled trials were evaluated, with a total of 335 patients. The quality of the included trials was good, yet some methodological and clinical heterogeneity existed. There were no significant differences between the LigaSure and conventional groups in operative time (weighted mean difference [WMD], -22.95 minutes; 95% confidence interval [CI], [-59.75, 13.85]; P = 0.22), blood loss (WMD, -45.8 ml; 95% CI, [-134.5, 42.90]; P = 0.31), nor the incidence of surgical complications (odds ratio, 1.18; 95% CI, [0.68, 2.05]; P = 0.54). But there was a longer duration of hospital stay in LigaSure group (WMD, 1.41 days; 95% CI, [0.14, 2.68]; P = 0.03). Conclusions: All available randomized evidence has been summarized. LigaSure does not confer significant advantage over conventional surgery for curative gastric cancer resection. The usefulness of the device may be limited in gastrectomy. But, more trials are needed for further assessment of the LigaSure system for gastric cancer.

Upregulated lncRNA Gm2044 inhibits male germ cell development by acting as miR-202 host gene

        Meng Liang,Ke Hu,Chaofan He,Jinzhao Zhou,Yaping Liao 한국통합생물학회 2019 Animal cells and systems Vol.23 No.2

Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been found to participate in the regulation of human spermatogenic cell development. However, little is known about the abnormal expression of lncRNAs associated with spermatogenic failure and their molecular mechanisms. Using lncRNA microarray of testicular tissue for male infertility and bioinformatics methods, we identified the relatively conserved lncRNA Gm2044 which may play important roles in non-obstructive azoospermia. The UCSC Genome Browser showed that lncRNA Gm2044 is the miR-202 host gene. This study revealed that lncRNA Gm2044 and miR-202 were significantly increased in nonobstructive azoospermia of spermatogonial arrest. The mRNA and protein levels of Rbfox2, a known direct target gene of miR-202, were regulated by lncRNA Gm2044. Furthermore, the miR- 202-Rbfox2 signalling pathway was shown to mediate the suppressive effects of lncRNA Gm2044 on the proliferation of human testicular embryonic carcinoma cells. Understanding of the molecular signalling pathways for lncRNA-regulated spermatogenesis will provide new clues into the pathogenesis and treatment of patients with male infertility.
