      • Information Security in the Age of Algorithms

        Fei Yang(Fei Yang),Xuan Luo(Xuan Luo) 아시아사회과학학회 2023 Jornal of Asia Social Science Vol.10 No.1

Algorithms are now widely used in all areas of social life, building a new social picture and reality. As a technology based on big data modelling and analysis, algorithms are embedded in all aspects of information production and distribution by means of technology, and become an important force in the construction of information environment. Under the algorithmic logic of information dissemination, the visible and invisible are in fact influenced by the algorithm as an authoritative mediator and mediator. From Daniel Dayan's 'visibility' perspective, this paper examines the risks posed by algorithms in three areas: the risk of passive disclosure of personal privacy, the use and control of personal data by profit-seeking algorithms, and the polarisation of information cocoons and circles. The information security risk brought by algorithms is attempted to be tackled and improved from several aspects, such as constructing a 'trinity' information security strategy system; adhering to the mainstream value orientation and highlighting the rational balance of “tool-value” of algorithms; and bringing into play multiple mechanisms together with effects.

Experimental and numerical investigation on hypervelocity impact response of 2D plain-woven C/SiC composite

Yang Yang,Fei Xu 대한기계학회 2015 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.29 No.1

The thermal protection structure of a spacecraft in service inevitably suffers from hypervelocity impact by space debris. The 2D plainwovenC/SiC composite is a typical ceramic-matrix material that has been extensively applied for thermal protection. In this study, theeffects of Mylar flyers on 2D-C/SiC composite and LY12 hard aluminum under the velocity range from 3400 m/s to 9300 m/s are investigatedusing an electric gun. The free surface velocity history of the specimen is recorded through the Doppler probe system, and thedebris clouds are collected using a foam plate. Then, an orthotropic constitutive material model is chosen to describe the hypervelocityimpact response of the 2D-C/SiC composite using the commercial software Autodyn. Numerical simulations are conducted based onsmooth particle hydrodynamics solver, and the results agree well with the experimental data. The relationships of free surface velocity tothe flyer diameter and plate thickness are also discussed. The results from this study are very useful for thermal protection structural design.

A New Variational Level Set Evolving Algorithm for Image Segmentation

Fei, Yang,Park, Jong-Won Korea Information Processing Society 2009 Journal of information processing systems Vol.5 No.1

Level set methods are the numerical techniques for tracking interfaces and shapes. They have been successfully used in image segmentation. A new variational level set evolving algorithm without re-initialization is presented in this paper. It consists of an internal energy term that penalizes deviations of the level set function from a signed distance function, and an external energy term that drives the motion of the zero level set toward the desired image feature. This algorithm can be easily implemented using a simple finite difference scheme. Meanwhile, not only can the initial contour can be shown anywhere in the image, but the interior contours can also be automatically detected.

        Yang Fei,Jingyi Zhu,Binyu Xu,Xiaogang Li,Mary Gonzalez,Manouchehr Haghighi 한국공업화학회 2017 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.50 No.-

Regarding the novel application of nanoparticles in enhanced oil recovery, the objective of this study wasto investigate the potential of silica nanoparticles to stabilize foam under high-temperature conditionsand exhibit an improved capacity to suspend proppants for hydraulic fracturing applications. In thisstudy, a regular anionic surfactant was employed as the foaming agent and a worm-like micelle (WLM)surfactant was employed as the foam viscosifer and silica nanoparticles. The results indicate that the SiO2nanoparticles and WLMs exhibit a synergistic effect in terms of foam rheology and stability, whichsignificantly improves the proppant suspension capabilities for petroleum applications.

      • A Distributed Workflow Mapping Method Oriented Homogeneous Activity

Fei Yang,Yinzhou Zhu 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Grid and Distributed Comp Vol.9 No.3

Workflow model based-on homogeneous activity needs to be transformed into basic workflow model in order to run in distributed environment. A workflow model mapping algorithm oriented homogeneous activity is proposed which can generate independent basic workflow fragments for homogeneous activities of different configuration modes using different processing mechanisms, and then form the basic workflow model based on the assembly of these workflow fragments. The algorithm provides a complete set of virtual mapping mechanism to solve it effectively focusing on the problem of the topological relationship of redundant activities difficult to describe in the dynamic selection model of homogeneous activity.

      • New Insights into Autonomic Nerve Preservation in High Ligation of the Inferior Mesenteric Artery in Laparoscopic Surgery for Colorectal Cancer

Yang, Xiao-Fei,Li, Guo-Xin,Luo, Guang-Heng,Zhong, Shi-Zhen,Ding, Zi-Hai Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.6

Aim: To take a deeper insight into the relationship between the root of the inferior mesenteric artery (IMA) and the autonomic nerve plexuses around it by cadaveric anatomy and explore anatomical evidence of autonomic nerve preservation in high ligation of the IMA in laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer. Methods: Anatomical dissection was performed on 11 formalin-fixed cadavers and 12 fresh cadavers. Anatomical evidence-based autonomic nerve preservation in high ligation of the IMA was performed in 22 laparoscopic curative resections of colorectal cancer. Results: As the upward continuation of the presacral nerves, the bilateral trunks of SHP had close but different relationships with the root of the IMA. The right trunk of SHP ran relatively far away from the root of IMA. When the apical lymph nodes were dissected close to the root of the IMA along the fascia space in front of the anterior renal fascia, the right trunk of SHP could be kept in suit under the anterior renal fascia. The left descending branches to SHP constituted a natural and constant anatomical landmark of the relationship between the root of IMA and the left autonomic nerves. Proximal to this, the left autonomic nerves surrounded the root of the IMA. Distally, the left trunk of the SHP departed from the root of IMA under the anterior renal fascia. When high ligation of the IMA was performed distal to it, the left trunk of SHP could be preserved. The distance between the left descending branches to SHP and the origin of IMA varied widely from 1.3 cm to 2.3 cm. Conclusions: The divergences of the bilateral autonomic nerve preservation around the root of the IMA may contribute to provide anatomical evidence for more precise evaluation of the optimal position of high ligation of the IMA in the future.

Improvement of energy storage performance in PbZr0.52Ti0.48O3/PbZrO3 multilayer thin films via regulating PbZrO3 thickness

        Yang Fei,Shi Yu Jia,Lin Lin,Chen Jing Yao,Hou Meng Zhe,Yu Ke Xin,Zhang Yi Han,Yuan Zheng,Li Xiao Fang,Hu Yan Chun,Shang Jun,Yin Shao Qian,Wang Xian Wei 한국물리학회 2023 Current Applied Physics Vol.50 No.-

In this work, to prepare the PbZr0.52Ti0.48O3(PZT)/PbZrO3(PZ) multilayer films, PZ films and PZT films were spin-coated on LaNiO3/SiO2/Si substrates in sequence by the sol-gel method, and the PZ films were prepared using PZ precursor solution with different concentrations. After each spin-coating, PZ layer and PZT layer were annealed with rapid thermal annealing (RTA) technique at 650 ◦C and 550 ◦C, respectively. The crystal structures, microstructures and electrical properties of the films with different PZ film thickness were comprehensively investigated. The PZ films with different thickness showed perovskite phase. The PZT films on crystallized PZ films exhibited the coexistence of pyrochlore phase and perovskite phase at the annealing temperature of 550 ◦C. The PZT/PZ multilayer films with 0.2 M PZ precursor solution exhibit typical anti-ferroelectricity with double hysteresis loops, while other multilayer films exhibit nearly linear loops. In addition, the recoverable energy storage density increases with the increase of the film thickness and reaches the maximum value 32.4 J/ cm3 in the PZT/PZ multilayer films with 0.4 M PZ precursor solution. Therefore, the ferroelectric properties of the PZT/PZ multilayer films could be regulated by different PZ film thickness, which effectively further enhances the energy storage performance.

      • SnIClustering Algorithm Based on Sampling and Filtering under the MapReduce Framework

Fei Yang,Wan-zhen Zhang,Wei Dai 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Hybrid Information Techno Vol.8 No.2

SnIClustering Algorithm is put forward to deal with the large number of intermediate values when processing MapReduce. SnIClustering Algorithm picks up a few representative data through cluster sampling, and then retains the useful data through filtration according to the distribution characteristics. By doing so, intermediate values of MapReduce can be reduced sharply, saving time and easing network load. The last step is to cluster the selected data and samples. Experimental results show that SnIClustering is suitable to process large-scale data, since it can both process large-scale data within a short time and maintain fine clustering effect.

Realgar transforming solution-induced differentiation of NB4 cell by the degradation of PML/RARa partially through the ubiquitin–proteasome pathway

        Yang Hai,Xin Wang,Peng Song,Jian-yin Li,Longhe Zhao,Fei Xie,Xiang-min Tan,Qin-Jian Xie,Lan Yu,Yang Li,Zhengrong Wu,Hong Yu Li 대한약학회 2019 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.42 No.8

PML/retinoic acid receptor alpha (RARa), as ahallmark of acute promyeloid leukemia (APL), is directlyrelated to the outcome of clinical APL remedy. It isreported that arsenicals can effectively degrade PML/RARa, such as arsenic trioxide and realgar. However, thehigh toxicity or insolubility have hampered their clinicalapplications. Realgar transforming solution (RTS) wasproduced from realgar by bioleaching process in our lab. Previous studies demonstrated that RTS had a significantanti-cancer ability on chronic myeloid leukemia throughoncoprotein degradation. The capacity of RTS on treatingAPL is what is focused on in this study. The results showedthat RTS had a noticeable sensitivity in NB4 cell, and RTSremarkably down-regulated PML/RARa expression andinduced cell differentiation. Further, RTS could accumulatePML/RARa into the nuclear bodies and then executedegradation, which could be reversed by proteasomeinhibitor MG132. The results also exhibited that thereduction of RTS-induced PML/RARa expression accompaniedby the elevation of ubiquitin and SUMO-1 proteinexpression. Finally, PML and SUMO-1 had been demonstratedto be co-localized after RTS treatment byimmunofluorescence co-localization assay and immunoprecipitationassay. In conclusion, these results suggestedthat RTS-induced cell differentiation may attribute to thePML/RARa degradation partially through the ubiquitin–proteasome pathway.

Preparation of oral nanoemulsion drug delivery system loaded with punicalagin: in vitro antibacterial activity, drug release, and cell safety studies

        FeiFei Shi,Yu‑Juan Mao,Ying Wang,Hai‑Feng Yang 한국고분자학회 2024 Macromolecular Research Vol.32 No.3

The objective of the present study was to develop a W/O/W nanoemulsion (NE) drug delivery system loaded with punicalagin (PGN) for oral delivery and evaluate its potential in antibacterial therapy. The W/O/W PGN-NE was prepared using a two-step process by combining ultrasonic with high-energy emulsification and subsequently characterized by its droplet size, zeta potential, and morphology. The PGN-NE was further evaluated for its pH, in vitro antibacterial activity, drug release property, and cytotoxicity. The results indicated the formation of spherical, nano-sized globules of PGN-NE had a mean particle size of 45.53 ± 2.2 nm, with a PDI value of 0.22 ± 0.028, zeta potential was −4.67 ± 0.88 mV, and pH value was 5.8. In vitro antibacterial activity studies showed a significantly higher antibacterial activity of PGN-NE in comparison to free PGN, suggesting that NE can effectively improve the antibacterial effect of natural pharmaceuticals. The drug release assay demonstrated that PGN was slowly released from the NE preparation and absorbed, helping to prolong the potency and improve the bioavailability of PGN. Cytotoxicity testing showed that PGN had reduced toxicity when encapsulated in NE. Thus, the developed NE formulation of PNG exhibited a greater potential for the slow-release effect delivery and in the treatment of microbial infections with favorable safety profile.
