        In this study, total astigmatism and corneal astigmatism were studied in 328 eyes of healthy Koreans for astigmatism. Total astigmatism was measured by fogging-and-dial technique, and corneal astimatism was measured with Magnon keratometer. Residual astigmatism was determined by a discrepancy between total and corneal astigmatism. The results were as follows : As they aged, there were statistically significant changes in total and corneal astigmatism but not in residual astigmatism. And the amount of with-the-rule total and corneal astimatism had a tendency to decrease, but residual astimatism had no changes. From 30 years, total astimatism showed a tendency to become against the rule. The average diopteric value was +0.342D in total astimatism, +0.920D in corneal astimatism and -0.579D in residual astimatism.

      • Au를 공침한 SnO₂후막센서의 가스 감응 특성

        High selective and sensitive thick film type methane gas sensors were fabricated and their sensing characteristics for various hydrocarbon gases were investigated. Raw material, SnO_(2)/Au, prepared by coprecipitation was even grain size. SEM, TEM, BET and XRD analyses were carried out for investigation of surface morphology and crystalline structure. The thick film devices using the above materials exhibited high sensitivity to methane gas at the operating temperature of 400°C. The sensitivity of SnO_(2)/Au+Pd thick film devices to methane gas was higher than that to the other hydrocarbon gases such as iso-butane and propane. The optimal adding amounts of Au and Pd were 1wt.% and 3wt.%, respectively. The sensitivity, S, is defined as {(R_(A)-R_(G))/R_(A)}><100, which R_(A) and R_(G) are resistance in air and that in the gas ambient, respectively.

        An attempt of indicating al perspective for the systematic arrangement of studies on sports and politics was made examining the contents and method of preceding studies conies concerned. Main results are as follow; 1. The concrete domains of the study on sports and politics are classified into such five categories as sports policy sports and political ideology, political functions of sports, sports and social regime, and sports international relations. After indicating the problems to be solved in terms of the systematic arrangement of the studies in each category, they are mutually related and a guideline for the systematization of studies on sports and politics is presented. 2. Politics can basically be understood as policy which has a certain logical relation with public interests and power, for the analysis of mutual relation between sports and politics standing on the basic of policy it is inevitable to clarify the meaning of in fluence relation and function Especially logical improvement of the method of functional analysis is indispensable.

        국민건강부담금과 건강기금의 헌법적 문제점

        Nach dem vor kurzem bekanntgegebenen Medienbericht legte die Regierung den Entwurf vor, die Volksgesundheitsfoerderungsabgabe(VGFA) auf hohes Niveau zu erhoehen, urn die Zahl der Rancher rasch zu erniedrigen. Danach wird die VGFA im Jahr 2004 auf 650 Won, im naechsten Jahr auf 1,150 Won erhoeht werden, die zur Zeit 150 Won pro Schachtel ist. Dann wird das Volum des Volksgesundheitfoerderungsfonds(VGFF) voraussichtlich auf ungefaehr 2-4 Billionen erreicht, die 1.7-3.4 Prozent von der Gesamtsumme der allgemeinen Etat betraegt. Der Lenkungszweck ist ohne weiteres zu rechtfertigen. Der Zweck heiligt jedoch nicht immer die Mittel. Die Frage, ob and inwieweit mit Abgaben neben der Erzielung von Einkuenften auch andere ausserfiskalische Zwecke verfolgt werden duerfen, ist ein derzeit aktuelles and politisch brisantes Thema. Die VGFA ist ein gutes Beispiel daffier. Die Fragestellung bezieht sich daher auf die Problematik der verfassungsrechtlichen Legitimitaet von VGFA bzw. VGFF als ein Instrument bei der Abgaben bzw. Finanzpolitik. Zuerst beschaeftigt sich der folgende Beitrag mit der Frage, ob die VGFA als eine Abgabeform der sog. `Sonderabgabe' zu qualifizieren ist. Im folgenden ist festzustellen, ob die VGFA verfassungsrechtlich zu rechtfertigen ist, insbesondere einerseits im Hinblick auf die notwendigen Voraussetzungen der Sonderabgabe, naemlich Gruppenhomogenitaet, Sachnaehe, Gruppenverantwortung and Gruppennuetzigkeit, and andererseits auf das Uebermassverbotsprinzip. Demnaechst wird untersucht, ob der VGFF verfassungsmaessig ist, vor allem im Zusammenhang mit dem Seuerstaatsprinzip, den allgemeinen Haushaltsgrundsaetzen wie Gesamtdeckungs-, Haushaltsausgleichsgrundsatz, and zwar ob and inwieweit der VGFF als eine Art der Ausgabe im fmanzpolitischen Aspekte angemessen ist. Im Ergebnis ist festzustellen, dass die VGFA bzw. der VGFF als eine Rechtsform der Einnahmen bzw. Ausgaben verfassungswidrig ist and auch als ein politisches Instrument ueberhaupt kaum empfehlenswuerdig ist.

      • Poly alkyl methacrylate의 熱分解에 관한 연구 : Polyethyl methacrylate의 分解反應機構 A Kinetic date analysis of polyethyl methacrylate

        The thermal decomposition of polyethyl methacrylate was studied using a dynamic thermogravimetry and viscometry techniques in the stream of nitrogen gas with 50ml/min at various heating rates form 230 to 290℃. The mathematical methods, Kissinger, Chatterjee-Conrad, Friedman, Second derivative, Horowitz-Metzger, Ozawa and Isothermal method were used to obtain valuse of activation energy of decomposition reaction. The activation energies evaluated by the above methods except Chatterjee-Conrad method agree with each other very well. The thermal degradation of polyethyl methacrylate was considered to be carried out by main chain scission and the thermogravimetric trace curve agreed with the theoretical equation.

        A method for the preparation of aldehydes from esters of carboxylic acids by use of diaminoaluminum hydrides such as bis (4 - methyl 1 - piperazinyl) aluminum hydride (BMPA) dimorpholionaluminum hydride (DMA) and dipiperidionaluminum hydride (DPA) was described. It was found that BMPA, DMA and DPA reduce esters of carboxylic acids of aldehydes in good yield very smoothly without accompanying alcohols.

        The fatty acids and amino acids in Saururus chinensis, native to Korea, were isolated and identified by gas chromatograph using glass capillary column and amino acid analyzer. Thirteen fatty acids and seventeen amino acids were identified.

      • Fluoranthene 독성에 기인하는 비정상적 어류행동의 신경생화학적 분석

        Fluoranthene, a common polycyclicaromatic hydrocarbon (PAH), exhibits phototoxicity which may affect aquatic organisms, The eventual goal of this study is to develop a biomarker of Japanese medaka (Oryzias iatipes) used in monitoring hazardous chemicals in the ecosystem. In this study we investigated neural toxicity of fluoranthene in Japanese medaka (Oryzias latipes) along with comparative analysis of corresponding behavioral responses. The untreated individuals showed normal behavioral characteristics (i.e' smooth and linear movements). The treated fish, however, showed stopping and abrupt change of orientation (100 ppb), and severely reduced locomotive activity and enhanced surfacing activity (1,000ppb). Treatment of the medaka fish with fluoranthene caused a significant suppression of acetylcholine esterase (AChE) activities in the body portion but not in the head portion. When fish were exposed to 1,000pph of fluoranthene for 24hr, the body AChE activities decreased from 126.±31.89 (nmoles substrate hydrolyzed per min per mg protein) 10 49.51 ± 11.99. Expressions of tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) protein in the different organs from both head and body portions were comparatively analyzed using an immunohistochemical technique. Five organs of the medaka fish showing a strong TH protein expression were the olfactory bulb, hypothalamus, optic lobe, pons and myelencephalon regions. This study provides molecular and neurobehavioral bases of a biomonitoring system for toxic chemicals using fish as a model organism.
