      • 효율적인 실험수업을 위한 개선방안에 대한 연구

        So for there have been a lot of difficulties in the experiment teaching because of several problems. So this thesis deals with the analysis of the problems and research for the improvement scheme. The main causes of obstacles to the experiment teaching are pointed out as follows, One is the deficiency of time allotment for the experiment, and the other is the overwork for the experiment. This thesis persents the several improvement schemes. They are the classifying of various kinds of experiments, the reformation of experiment, an assisstant-teacher by a student, the appropriata evaluation for students' experiment activities, and the establishment of the good model in all procedures of experiment teaching. The improvement schemes have the following effects. 1. The reformation of experiment method was helpful to the reduce of experiment time. 2. Experiment evaluation standard enabled to have and experiment evaluation in a short time in an hour or so a class. 3. The students' concern about physics increased from 39.2% to 52.7% after the model experiment teaching. The discussion about the normalization of this experiment teaching should be continued.

        This is to examine the characteristic and trends of lower secondary school mathematics curricula in major five countries-Korea, Japan, China, Soviet Union, and U. S.A. Focusing the curriculum documents and reports in each country, characteristic. system, guidance (framework), objectives and areas of mathematics curriculum, major characteristic of instructional contents, development and evaluation of curriculum. and trends of recent reforms in mathematical cuniculum are discussed. Finally, significant suggestions which are necessary in revising the secondary school mathematics in Korea are given.

      • 학교주변 소음실태의 비교조사 연구 : 제주도 초·중학교를 중심으로

        The conditions of noise pollution around the elementary schods, the middle schools, and the high schools near the highway around the Cheju-do and those in cheju city are investigated. Thirteen percents of schools near the highway around the Cheju-do suffer noise pollution. So do sixty percents of schools in Cheju city. The causes of noise are due to the location of schools near the road and the bus stops. klaxon and overspeed of cars. and insufficient measure for the noise control.

      • 과학전 출품작과 현장학습의 연계성에 관한 연구

        In this paper, we report some sorts of result obtained by investigating the exhibits which had been submitted for "The National Exhibition of Science"and "The Science Exhibition for the Students of Cheju-do"during the last ten years and by putting the questions to the science teacher of the teacher of the middle and high schools in Cheju-do. Up to the half number the exhibits are occupied by the field of physics and biology. Almost the exhibits (above 90%) have the contents related to those of the current curriculum. However, 30.2% of the respondents only believe that their students may put the exhibits to practical use in learning. Many respondents replied that they could have not participated in the exhibition of science because they were in heavy duty and the fiscal support were not only so limited but also not sufficient enough to make an excellent work.

      • 과학과 인지적 영역의 평가에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study is to find out students' cognitve abilities in science lessons. Bloom's Taxonomy of Educational Objectives' Klopfer's Specification for Science Education, and Piaget's cognitive Development Theory were reviewed to build the evaluating tool. The contents of the constructed tool includes 33 percents' experimental items, and the rest were non-experimental. In the evaluating methods three types of questioning were adopted : multiple choice(79%), short answer test(l5%). and essay typy(6%). Data were collected from 359 students' who are attending middle schools in two cities in Cheju-do. To find out the statistical facts, students' scores were calculated into mean, standard deviation and percentile. The analysis of the data showed the following results : The average score of students' scientific thinking ability is around 58.3 which stands for lower state of thinking ability than expected. Students got higher scores in questions on the experimental-observational contents of learning. It seems that students understand this content of learning more easily than the others. However, students got very lower scores in the contents of learning which include such higher mental-processes as secondary, synthetic functions. It suggests that teachers ought to pay more attention to this content of learning to stimulate students higher mental ability. Score distribution and higher mental function showed positive relationship. The study has made certain that through the evaluating frame of cognitive domains we can assess students ability on the experimental areas of learning except the manual skills, even if paper tests are practiced.

      • 수학교육 평가의 새 동향과 제주지역 중학교 수학과 평가의 실태 연구

        This study aims to research about the new trends in the evaluation of mathematics education and the present conditions of the evaluation of mathematics study in middle schools in Cheju area. The main purposes of this study are as follows; 1) To survey the present conditions of the evaluation of mathematics study in middle schools in Cheju Province in view of the new trends of mathematics evaluation of NCTM(Nationa1 Council of Teachers of Mathematics), 2) To analyze both the aspects in which the present conditions of Cheju Province correspond and do not correspond with the new trends of the evaluation of mathematics study according to the result of our survey. In this study, the author made use of the questionnaire as the research tool which he prepared for himself at the basis of the new trends of mathematics evaluation of NCTM, and the author surveyed the teachers of mathematics in 40 middle schools, all of Cheju Province.

      • 제주도내 중등학교 과학과 교육계획 및 과정에 관한 분석

        In thirty-nine middle schools and tweenty-six high schools of Cheju( thir teen humarity and thirteen business high schools), the completion of science is required for the 1st grade of middle school (under the provisims of the Education Ministry), 91.5 % of the 2nd grade completes the science subject as the lowest unit and 97.5 % of the 3rd grade as the highest unit. An average of 89.7 % of the humanity high schools complete it as the lowest unit and 10.3 % as to hghest unit. The business high school mostly choose to complete two subject of the four science subjects and now biology is complete in thirteen schools and chemistry in twelve and physies in one. So the subjects are the most part, biology and chemistry. 53.8 % of the business high schools complete the lowest unit and 46.2 % the highest unit. Every school's plan about the realization is for the most part, the same and the detailed plan is not thrngs as the region and schools are the establishment rate of laboratories (under the provision of the Education Ministry) is 75 % within the educational institute of Cheju city and 40% within that of Segwipo city and 50% within that of Puk Cheju-gun and 53% at most in the humanity high school (except the business high school). According to the appointment standard of the science assistant teacher, twenty-three teacher are needed in the middle schools and ten in the humanity high schools, but now only six middle schools and one humanity hgh school have one teacher respectively. Taking this point into consideration, the educaticn of basic science should be, of cowse, re-gared as important in the new curriculum. The subject of science subjects(physics, chemistry, biology and earth science) should be completed to strenghen the science education of the high school. This is to emphasize the principle and application of synthesis, analysis and judgment based upan the idea rather than the simple and to make the life scientific on the basis of rese-arch ability through substantial experimental practice and teachmg. The completed unit of science education should be the same in the middle and high school, and the highest unit should be ccmpleted to make students able men by the provisions of the Education Ministry. And also it is needed that the plan about the realization of scienec education should be made for the establishment of sience laboratories and the prchase of equipment. For the accomplishment of all these purposes, the active principals as well as the educational administration authorities should show more interest in science education.

      • 중학교 물리 분야 학습에 활용되는 용어 분석

        The features of the whole unit and each unit were investigated respectively. The number of physics terms presented in the whole unit is 159 terms in the new curriculum and 163 terms in the old curriculum. In the new curriculum, the contents related to energy are widely and variously treated. Among all the physics terms. the frequency percentage of the foreign physics words are 15.1% in the new curriculum the physics terms related to energy are 79.2%
