we have developed cost-effective effectronic security system. The system is superior to the day-time alert system which is currently used for banks in Choongchung Province. The system can monitor 512 banks and inform the police of emergency state and its related informations. The developed svstem is under field test at a police station in Choongchung Province.

N/A objectives: Exposure to oxidant molecules can generate reactive oxigen species(R0S; for example, H₂O₂, O₂-, OH .). These free radicals can alter DNA, proteins and membrane phospholipids. ROS are responsible for aging and many diseases including cancer, neurodegenerative diseases and cardiovascular diseases. Thus, to prevent against celluar damages associated with oxidative stress, antioxidants are important and many research about antioxidants are being conducted over the world. methods: This study was performed to research the antioxidant activities of Insamgobonwhan(IG) and its component groups in vitro, so intended to know the possibility of Insamgobonwhan(1G) as drug which can prevent aging. The experimental group was divided into 4 groups: Imsamgobonwhan(IG), two dong-two jiwhang(IG-1; 麥門冬, 天門冬, 熱地黃, 生地黃), two dong(IG-2; 麥門冬, 天門冬) and two jiwhang(IG-3; 熱地黃, 生地黃). results: 1. All experimental groups had significant antioxidant activity in linoleic acid system on concentration dose--dependently in comparison with control group. But IG and IG-2 have more effect than IG-1 and IG-3 relatively. 2. DPPH radical scavenging experiment and inhibitory effect experiment on superoxide generation in xanthine-xanthine oxidase system showed that all experimental groups had a dose-dependent effect. But IG and IG--1 had more effect than IG-2 and IG-3. 3. Inhibitory effect experiment on superoxide generation induced by xanthine-xanthine oxidase system showed that all experimental groups had a dose-dependent effect. But IG and IG-1 had more effect than IG-2 and IG-3. 4. Inhibitory effect experiment on lipid peroxidation reaction in H₂O₂-Fe²system showed that all experimental groups had a dose--dependent effect. But IG and IG--1 had more effect than IG-2 and IG-3. 5. Experiment on lipid peroxidation removal effect showed that all experimental groups had a dose-dependent effect. But IG and IG-2 have more effect than IG-1 and IG-3. 6. Experiment on glutathion activity effect showed that all experimental groups had some effect. But each groups had no significant difference. 7. Experiment on catalase activity effect showed that all experimental groups had some effect. But each groups had no significant difference. conclusion: These results showed that IG has an antioxidant activity, so it seems to have some anti-aging effect. From comparisons of each experimental groups, IG`s antioxidant effect is likely to be associated with IG-1 mostly.

Those studies were performed to elucidate the effects of several dietary spices on dental caries and to determine which component of spices induced the change of incidence of dental caries in Sprague-Dawley rats which were supplied from SNU animal house. For this study, 132 rats (rats weighing 90-140 gm) were chosen at random with the same number of both sexes and divided into eleven experimental groups which contained the differential components of drinking water and diets for control and experimental group. Control group was fed standard cariogenic diet and tap water. In experimental groups, rats were fed standard cariogenic diet supplemented with capsicum (10%), ash capsicum (1, 10%), garlic (5%), common salt (3%), and analytical salt (3%) for 80 days. Drinking water was tap water containing water extract of capsicum (1, 10%), water extract of garlic (1.1%), and fluoride (50ppm). The results were as follows. 1. 54.6 in caries score was recorded in control group. 2. Rats which drank water containing 50ppm of fluoride showed 18.4% decrease in caries score. 3. Capsicum-fed rats showed 10.7% (capsicum 10%) increase in caries score and rats which drank water containing water extract of capsicum (1, 10%) showed 14.1% (w.e. capsicum 1%) and 0.16% (w.e. capsicum 10%) increase in caries score. But ash capsicum-fed rats showed 18.7% (ash capsicum 1%) and 7.3% (ash capsicum 10%) decrease in caries score. 4. Garlic-fed rats showed 22.1% (garlic 5%) decrease in caries score. But rats which drank water containing 1.1% of water extract of garlic showed 24.1% increase in caries score. 5. 58.4% and 68.0% increase in caries score were recorded in rats which were fed diet containing common salt (3%) and analytical NaCl (3%), respectively.

Hemolytic uremic syndrome is characterized by Coombs-negative microangiopathic hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia, and acute renal failure in infant and children. At present, E. coli 0157 : H7 and other verotoxin-producing E. coli(VTEC) seem to be a major cause of this illness. The majority of patients have a prodrome of bloody diarrhea, and acute renal failure develops several days to weeks later. Although an optimal treatment remains unknown, the general management of hypertention and renal failure with early and frequent dialysis is the mainatay of treatment, and intravenous administration of immunoglobulin G is like to be effective. We experienced a case composed of bloody diarrhea, seizures, coma, and anuria in 1 year old girl who was diagnosed as HUS and recovered renal function completely with slight impairment of cognitive ability and behavioral function. We presented this case with a review of literatures.

Line Capacity is a criteria for transport capacity and is used to evaluate railroad investment alternatives or to decide train frequency when establish transportation plan. There are two methodologies to increase transport capacity of railway. One is to invest railroad equipment or vehicles, and the other is to improve operation efficiency through optimization. Such all efforts are intended to increase transport capacity by improving line capacity. So far, this criteria is calculated statical and experimental numerical formula. But, line capacity has special attribute that changes dynamically according to operational conditions, so there is a need of new line capacity estimation system. In this paper, we present a new estimation method of line capacity based on the probability simulation, and apply to normal railline section and special structured railine section.
전도성 Nylon 6/Polypyrrole복합체의 제조 및 그 전기적 성질

Electrically conducting nylon 6/polypyrrole composite films and fabrics have been prepared by polymerizing pyrrole vapor in nylon 6 matrix containing cupric chloride as an oxidizing agent. After polymerization of pyrrole for 30 min, the conductivities of composites reach as high as 10^-3∼10^-2 S/cm depending on the content of oxidizing agent. The stability of conductivity to ambient air exposure is excellent ; there occurs little change in conductivity on exposing the composites to ambient air for one month. The nylon 6 composite fabrics containing 14∼25 wt.% of polypyrrole show an excellent antistatic properties.

A 20-week growth trial was conducted to investigate the utilization of brewer's yeast as an additive in formulated diets on growth and body composition of juvenile abalone (Haliotis discus hannai). Four replicate groups of the abalone averaging 63 mg were fed the formulated diets containing 0% and 3% brewer's yeast. In addition, these formulated diets were compared with natural food (dried Laminaria). Survival rate, growth performance and proximate analysis of abalone fed the diet containing brewer's yeast were not significantly different to control diet (P>0.05). These values of abalone fed the formulated diets were higher than those of abalone fed the dried Laminaria (P<0.05). These data indicate that supplemental brewer's yeast is not needed in this formulation and dried Laminaria is not adequate diet for juvenile abalone.
