      • 비·부비동 종양의 신생혈관 형성에서 COX-2 및 VEGF의 역할

        Background and Objectives : COX-2, the inducible form of cyclooxygenase(COX), is upregulated in transformed cells and in malignant cells, which have important roles in promotion of colorectal carcinogenesis, invasiveness and angiogenesis. Vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) may act as endothelial cell mitogen in various cancer tissues. It will increase tumor growth and angiogenesis. Aims of this study were to asses COX-2/VEGF expression and it's clinical correlation in sinonasal tumors and to investigate the effects on angiogenesis also. Materials and Method : The study samples were obtained from surgical removal of 27 cases of inverted papilloma(IPs), 5 cases of IP with malignant transformation(IP-MT), 16 cases of Squamous cell carcinoma(SCC) in sinonasal cavity COX-2 and VEGF expressions were assessed by immunohistochemical staining. Synchronism of COX-2/VEGF expression in one tumor cell was demonstrated with double immunofluorescence technique. Results : The expression rates of COX-2 were 37% in IP, 80% in IP-MT and 100% in SCC. The positive rates of VEGF were 29 6% in IP, 100% in IP-MT and SCC. COX-2 and VEGF expressions were increased as tumor progressed, and there is a positive correlation between COX-2 &EGF expressions. All clinical features which were compared are not associated with COX-2 &EGF expressions except malignant change in IP(p=0 028). Synchronism of COX-2/VEGF expressions was noted in all positive immunostaining samples. Conclusion : These findings suggest the role of COX-2 pathway could be involved in sinonasal tumor angiogenesis, which is modulated by VEGF COX-2 may act as autocrine factor in VEGF expression. There is a potential role for selective COX-2 inhibitors in the treatment of these lesions.

        대중교통 환승주차장의 CPTED 체크리스트에 의한 환경디자인 연구

        본 연구는 늘어나는 대중교통인접 환승주차장의 범죄위험성으로부터 이용자들의 안전을 위하여 ‘환경설계를 통한 범죄예방(Crime Prevention Through Environment Design: CPTED, 이하: CPTED)"개념을 적용하여, 환경디자인 개선사항을 도출하는 연구이다. 연구의 방법과 범위로는 CPTED이론, 문헌분석, 관련법 및 법규, 관련 전문가그룹을 통하여 1차 정량·정성체크리스트를 설계하여 현장답사 하였으며, 이를 보안하는 2차 정성체크리스트를 설계, 현장답사 하였으며, 현장답사는 대중교통환승 주차장의 유형과 환승형태, 주차장규모, 운영주체등을 고려하여 수도권의 5개 환승주차장을 선정하였다. 설계된 체크리스트를 바탕으로 현장답사 결과 범죄위험성으로부터 환경디자인 개선사항은 5곳 중 1곳을 제외하고 4곳 모두 개선이 필요한 것으로 분석되었다. 분석은 주차지역, 유지관리, 전자보안, 안내표지, 조경, 조명으로 구분하였으며 조사대상지 대부분 범죄위험성으로부터 전자보안에만 의지하는 행태를 가졌으며, 그 또한 요금 징수 등을 주 목적으로 하고 있다. This study applies the concept of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) and suggests ways to make improvements in environmental design to provide secure facilities for those who use park-and-ride structures which are increasing on a regular basis. First, the authors made a checklist for field examination after consulting related literature and related laws and holding discussion sessions with the experts of the field. After the field investigation with the quantitative and qualitative checklist, another qualitative checklist was developed to supplement the first one. With the second checklist, the authors visited five different park-and-ride structures around the city of Seoul that were diverse in layout, scale, and management system. The result showed that four out of the five sites assessed needed improvements. The analysis was divided into the following areas: location of the structure, maintenance, electronic security, signs, landscaping, and lighting. A popular method of crime prevention at the parking structures was electronic security which was in fact operated mainly to encourage the drivers to pay their parking fees.

        국립공원 내 파충류 자원의 효율적인 관리를 위한 PIT(passive integrated transponder) tag과 무선추적방법(radio telemetry)의 적용

        본 연구는 PIT tag (passive integrated transponder)과 무선추적법(radio telemetry)을 오대산국립공원과 월악산국립공원에 서식하고 있는 파충류에 적용한 후, 이를 평가하여 효과적으로 국립공원 내 파충류 자원관리 방안을 모색하기 위하여 수행되었다. PIT tag은 현재까지 알려진 파충류 개체표시법 중에서 가장 효과적인 방법으로 2006년 3월부터 2008년 10월까지 오대산국립공원과 월악산국립공원의 조사지역에 출현한 모든 137마리의 뱀류를 대상으로 적용하였다. 무선추적 연구는 월악산국립공원에서 서식하고 있는 황구렁이(Elaphe schrenckii anomala) 2마리를 대상으로 2007년 9월부터 2008년 11월까지 실시하였다. 연구결과, 두 곳의 국립공원 지역에서 연구기간 동안 17마리가 재 포획되어 평균 12.40%의 재포획률을 보였으며, 재 포획된 개체들의 자료를 통하여 누룩뱀(Elaphe dione)과 쇠살모사(Gloydius ussuriensis) 성체의 SVL 증가를 성공적으로 확인하였다. 무선추적을 통하여 확인된 황구렁이 수컷의 행동권 면적은 MCP=389,600 m2, Kernel 95%=471,800 m2, 암컷은 MCP=162,500 m2, Kernel 95%=208,700 m2인 것으로 확인되었다. 국립공원 내에서 보호와 관리가 필요한 종 혹은 멸종위기대상 종인 파충류를 대상으로 PIT tag과 무선추적을 적용한다면 공원 내 파충류의 효율적인 관리 및 보존방안을 마련하는 데 중요한 기초자료를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 생각된다. To suggest effective ways of the management of reptiles in Korea national parks, we applied PIT (passive integrated transponder) tag and radio telemetry research methods in the monitoring of reptiles in Odaesan and Woraksan national parks. We implanted PIT tags into 137 snakes (six species) captured in both the national parks between March 2006 and October 2008 and also radio-tracked two Korean rat snakes (Elaphe schrenckii anomala) from September 2007 to November 2008 in the Woraksan national park. Of total 137 snakes which we had inserted the PIT tag, 17 snakes (12.40%) were recaptured. Based on the PIT tag data of the recapture, we successfully obtained the annual growth rate of Korean cat snakes (Elaphe dione) and Red-tongue pit-viper (Gloydius ussuriensis). Home range of the Korean rat snakes based on the data of radio-tracking was estimated as 389,600 m2 (MCP: Minimum convex polygon) and 471,800 m2 (Kernel 95%) for males and 162,500m2 and 208,700m2 for females. These results suggest that if we apply PIT tag and radio telemetry research methods to manage reptiles in Korea national parks, it could greatly increase our understanding about their basic ecology and as the result, it could allow us to develop better management and conservation ways of reptiles in Korea national parks.

      • 반응조 나열법을 이용한 하천 모델 개발

        The Stochastic Time River Elevator Approach Mode(STREAM)which is a multiconstituent stream ecosystem model was exclusively developed in this study. The formulation of STREAM is based on the Cell-In-Series(CIS)approach where stream is assumed as a series of completly mixed flow reactors. This approach is to use a Lagrangian coordinate instead of an Eulerian such that it can overcome the limitations repoted in the previous stream models, such as QUAL2E.Major constituents included in STREAM are Dissolved Oxygen(DO), Biochemical Oxygen Demand(BOD), Suspended Solid(SS), Coliform Bacteria, Nitrogen Series, Phosphorus Series, and Phytoplankton. Dissolved oxygen change caused by Sediment Oxygen Demand(SOD) and respiration and photosynthesis of periphyton and macrophyte are included in the model structure. STREAM was programed in a BASIC language and graphic was attached. In order to validate STREAM model, both STREAM and QUAL2E (developed by United States Environmental Protection Agency) were applied to the South Branch of Han River under the same amibient condition. The result indicated that STREAM could simulate most water qualities with same accuarcy and less computer time than QUAL3E.

        천연제올라이트를 지지체로 사용한 고온건식 아연계 탈황제의 반응특성 연구

        고온건식 탈황제의 지지체로 알루미나와 천연제올라이트를 사용하여 아연계 탈황제를 제조하였으며 성능을 조사하였다. 두 가지 탈황제의 반응특성실험은 480℃/580℃(황화/재생온도)에서 칸 밸런스와 고정층 반응장치로 반응속도와 황수용능력을 비교하였으며 내마모 실험장치를 이용하여 탈황제의 내마모도를 조사하였다. 두 탈황제의 성능 실험결과 천연제올라이트를 지지체로 사용한 탈황제의 초기 황화반응속도가 알루미나를 지지체로 사용한 탈황제보다 빨라졌으며, 10 cycle에서 황수용능력이 20 gS/100 g sorbent 이상 유지되었다. 내마모성은 AI(마모지표)값이 14.7%정도였다. 본 연구에서는 천연제올라이트의 고온건식 탈황제의 지지체로 적용 가능성을 확인하였다. Two types of zinc-based sorbents using alumina and natural zeolite as the supports for hot-gas desulfurization were prepared, and investigated their desulfurization capability. Their reaction rate and sulfur capacity were compared by Cahn balance and over the fixed bed reactor system at 480℃/580℃ (sulfidation/regeneration). The attrition resistance was measured by ASTM methd. Thc initial sulfidation rate of ZnO/natural zeolite sorbent was higher than that of ZnO/alumina, and the sulfur capacity of ZnO/natural zeolite sorbent was maintained above 20 gS/l00 g sorbent for 10 cycles. A attrition index was 14.7%. The use of natural zeolite as a support of sorbents may be possible for hot gas desulfurization.

      • 알루미나 세라믹스의 분위기 압력변화에 따른 마모특성에 관한 연구

        This study was investigated to the tribology characteristics for the alumina ceramics(Al₂O₃) in the variation of ambient pressure. The sliding wear test was carried out under the condition of the various applied load, sliding distance and the ambient pressure with mate specimen made of STB2 stee. The results obtained are as follows : 1. As the ambient pressure decreases, the friction coefficient increases, becasue the protective layer made of absorption substance can not be fromed due to decrease of the amount of ambient gas. 2. The friction coefficient of purity 85% alumina is higher than that of purity 95% and 99.7% alumina because of the influence of heat accumulation. 3. As the applied load increases in each ambient pressure, the friction coefficient increases due to brittle fraction of alumina grain and great action of cohesion. However, the gap of the friction coefficient by the variation of the contact load is small in the vacuum. 4. The friction coefficient regarding the variation of sliding distance increases by on inital 60 meters of the sliding distance, however, the friction coefficient is almost constant after the sliding distance.

      • 선천성상부요로기형에서 발생한 요석에 대한 체외충격파쇄석술

        Purpose: We sought to determine the efficacy of extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy(ESWL) in the treatment of urolithiasis with congenital upper urinary tract anomalies. Materials and Methods: Using the Northgate SD-3 lithotriptor, 43 patients with calculi with upper urinary tract anomalies were treated with extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy(ESWL) at Chosun University Hospital from 1996 to 1998. The upper urinary tract anomalies were duplicated ureter in 12 cases, bifid pelvis in 10, malrotated kidney in 4, ureterocele in 3, UPJ obstruction in 3, caliceal diverticulum in 3, horseshoe kidney in 3, pelvic kidney in 2, medullary sponge kidney(MSK) in 2 and polycystic kidney in 1. The age range of the patients was from 22 to 70 years of age(mean of 49.6 years). There were 23 men and 20 women. The mean size of the stone was 10.1x8.6±4.9x4.3mm, General or regional anesthesia was not required. Results: The average frequency was 2.3 sessions and the average number of shock wave was 2258±1404 shock. The 3-month stone free rate was 90.7%, Complications of stone removal were petechia in 43 cases, gross hematuria in 36, severe flank pain in 9 and urinary infection in 2. All complications were treated successfully with conservative management. Conclusion: We conclude that ESWL monotherapy is a safe and successful modality as a noninvasive management of urolithiasis in patients with upper urinary tract anomalies.

      • VII 인자 결핍 신생아에서 발생한 뇌실내출혈 1 례

        Congenital factor VII deficiency is a rare bleeding disorder that has an estimated prevalence of 1/300,000 to 1/500,000. Transmission is autosomal recessive. Because factor VII is important in initiation the coagulation cascade, a factor VII deficiency can result in significant bleeding with pr oiongation of the prothrombin time. In severely affected patients, bleeding starts early in life and encompasses life-threatening hemorrhages such as Intracranial and gastrointestinal hemorrhages. These are the most frequent bleeding events in the first 6 months of life. Definitive diagnosis tests on a specific assay for factor VII clotting activity. Human factor VII from plasma is used to treat factor VII deficiency. Either fresh frozen plasma or factor VII concentrate can be used. We experienced a case of intraventricular hemorrhage in a newborn infant who had been diagnosed as congenital factor VII deficiency. So, we report the case with a review of literatures.

        낙농자조금 사업의 성과분석

        This paper aims at examining the effectiveness of dairy check-off funds, which was first launched by initiative of dairy farmers in 1999 and spent for dairy promotion program such as milk advertising and consumption campaign, and then providing the guideline for efficient funds management. Based on the econometric simulation, we derived meaningful results that dairy promotion program directly contributed to increasing milk consumption by 5,613 m/t worth of 7,468 million won more than would have been otherwise. In addition, it was estimated that dairy promotion program, while alleviating penalty fee for lower quality of fresh milk and redeeming assistance for higher milk grade and supporting for milk price, would indirectly benefit dairy farmers 86,968 million won, which accounts for 52 won of profits per won. Such estimates show that first dairy promotion program was successfully implemented. However, for future program to take more merits, some directions should be suggested as followings; 1) continuing milk advertising campaign, 2) R&D for milk marketing, 3) consumer education and information.
