Although cherry tomato is one of major vegetables consumed in fresh vegetable market, the quality grading method is only dependant on size measurement using drum shape sorting machines. Using Visible/Near-infrared spectroscopy, apparatus to be able to acquire transmittance spectrum data was made and used to estimate firmness, sugar content, and acidity of cherry tomatoes grown at hydroponic and soil culture. Partial least square (PLS) models were performed to predict firmness, sugar content, and acidity for the acquired transmittance spectra. To enhance accuracy of the PLS models, several preprocessing methods were carried out, such as normalization, multiplicative scatter correction (MSC), standard normal variate (SNV), and derivatives, etc. The coefficient of determination (R(2)(p)) and standard error of prediction (SEP) for the prediction of firmness, sugar, and acidity of cherry tomatoes from green to red ripening stages were 0.859 and 1.899 kgf, with a preprocessing of normalization, 0.790 and 0.434˚Brix with a preprocessing of the 1st derivative of Savitzky Golay, and 0.518 and 0.229% with a preprocessing normalization, respectively.

무환자 나무 열매 추출물이 항산화와 멜라닌 생성에 미치는 영향

Here, we investigated the effects of Sapindus mukorossi fruit extracts (SME) on skin care by measuring antioxidant and whitening activity. To investigate the antioxidant effects of SME, we assessed scavenging activities on DPPH and ABTS radicals, and SOD-like activities. DPPH, ABTS and SOD-like radical scavenging activities significantly increased in a SME dose-dependent manner. Also, SME significantly inhibited both tyrosinase activity and melanin content in a dose-dependent manner. Additionally, it was found that treatment with SME led to a decreased in α-MSH (melanocyte-stimulating hormone)-induced tyrosinase activity and MITF (microphthalmia associated transcription factor) protein expression. Our results revealed that SME inhibited α-MSH-stimulated melanin synthesis by suppressing MITF expression. Therefore, it is expected to be used effectively in the development of whitening cosmetics.

도덕 교과서에 나타난 전통 윤리의 문제점

This study focuses on the problems of traditional ethics in the textbooks of 7th Moral Education Curriculum. As the fact that Traditional Ethics is an advanced elective of high school curriculum shows, ``traditional ethics`` is an important part of moral education curriculum. Unfortunately, many have maintained that there are significant problems in the contents of traditional ethics described in moral education curriculum. The problems mentioned are: encyclopedic enumeration of the contents, incorrect information, content repetitions, placing too much one-sided emphasis on confucianism, lack of organic link between Korean and oriental ethics, and unlikeliness of accomplishing subject`s objectives. This study raises more fundamental problems. The problems pointed out are as follows. First, the definition of traditional ethics in the textbooks is problematic. Second, there is a lack of examination on ``tradition``. Third, there exists a naive understanding that western ethics or thoughts are the causes of all problems and oriental traditional ethics is the cure-all for them. Fourth, viewpoints of orientalism or occidentalism are widespread in describing traditional ethics.

전자기 성형 공정은 강한 전이 자기장을 가공하고자 하는 금속에 직접 작용시켜 금속을 변형시키는 가공 기술로 최근 난성형성 소재의 성형 및 이종 소재의 접합 등에 장점을 가지고 있어 관심이 높아지고 있다. 또한, 전자기 성형 공정을 기존의 스템핑, 하이드로포밍과 같은 성형 공정의 단점을 보완하는 공정으로 이용하여 자동차 부품에 적용하려는 연구가 시도되고 있다. 전기, 자기, 열, 변형을 포함하는 복잡한 물리 현상이 관련되어 있는 전자기 성형 공정을 모사하기 위해서 각 물리 현상들을 연계하여 수치적으로 계산해 내는 기술에 대한 연구가 다각도로 진행 중이다. 본 고에서는 전자기 성형 기술에 대한 개념과 최신 국내외 기술 동향을 소개한 후, 전자기 성형의 수치 해석 기술에 대한 연구 동향을 정리하였다.

산딸기 잎 추출물의 항염증 기능 탐색에 관한 연구

웰빙에 대한 지속적인 관심과 자연주의의 확산으로 안전성과 기능성이 확보된 천연 소재에 관심이 높아지고 이를 이용한 기능성 식품 개발이 지속적으로 증가하고 있다. 특히 항염 효과를 지닌 천연 소재를 찾고자 많은 연구들이 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 산딸기 잎추출물을 이용하여 기능성 천연 소재로서의 가능성을 연구하였다. 항염 활성을 조사하기 위해서 마우스 대식세포주인 RAW264.7 세포에 LPS로 유도된 염증 반응에서 산딸기 잎 추출물의 매개체 억제 효과를 측정하였고 oxazolone 을 이용하여 접촉성 피부염이 유도된 hairless 마우스를 이용하여 산딸기 잎 추출물의 항염 효과를 확인하였다. LPS로 자극한 RAW264.7 세포에서 COX-2, iNOS와 같은 염증성 매개체뿐만 아니라 염증성 사이토카인의 생성 및 발현이 산딸기 잎 추출물에 의하여 현저히 억제됨을 확인하 였으며 이러한 산딸기 잎 추출물의 항염증효과는 NF-κB의 활성을 억제하여 나타나는 것으로 밝혀졌으며 NF-κB의 상위 신호전달경로인 MAPKs에도 영향을 미치는 것으로 증명되었다. 또한 hairless 마우스에 유도된 접촉성 피부염에 산딸기 잎 추출물을 처리하여 3주간 피부 병변을 관찰한 결과 염증 반응이 현저히 완화되는 것을 확인하였다. 이상의 결과들을 종합해보면, 산딸기 잎 추출물이 항염 효능을 가진 천연물 소재로서 활용될 수 있는 가능성을 제시하고 있다. 다양한 염증성 질환에서 여러 매개체들의 과도한 발현이 그 질환의 원인임을 생각해 볼 때 산딸기 잎 추출물은 항염을 목적으로 하는 여러 제품들에서 다양하게 활용할 수 있는 천연물 소재가 될 것으로 판단되며, 기능성 식품 개발에 있어 산딸기 잎 추출물의 활용성이 높아질 것으로 사료된다. A lot of research about applications of natural extracts to both food and medicine is in progress. In this paper, we tested the applicability of Rubus crataegifolius leaf extract in functional materials including its anti-inflammatory effects. We investigated the effects of Rubus crataegifolius leaf extract on the LPS-induced production of inflammatory cytokines and mediators in RAW264.7 macrophage cell line. The protein expression of COX-2, iNOS, IL- 4, TNF-α, and IFN-γ, phosphorylation of MAPKs (ERK, JNK, p38) and the activation of NF-κB with Rubus crataegifolius leaf extract were assayed in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells. Pre-treatment with Rubus crataegifolius leaf extract significantly inhibited the protein expression of iNOS and COX-2 in a dose-dependent item and the secretion of inflammatory cytokines such as IL-4, TNF-α, and IFN-γ. Rubus crataegifolius leaf extract significantly reduced the phosphorylation of MAPKs. The NF-κB was strongly suppressed by extracts. Moreover, the pathological phenotypes of contact dermatitis such as erythema, edema, and scabs were significantly decreased in Rubus crataegifolius leaf extract-treated mice. These results indicated that Rubus crataegifolius leaf extract have an antiinflammatory effect, and that this might be used as a supplement for the functional materials.

『개벽』의 교육론 연구

I analyzed the educational ideas in Gaebyuk. Gaebyuk as a monthly general magazine was launched by Cheondogyo young men`s association, and it leaded the cultural movement in 1920s. This paper was made up of three parts. Firstly, I investigated the reality which Cheondogyo young men`s association cognized. Secondly, I viewed the educational ideas in Gaebyuk from three sides, that is the meaning of education, the rejection of traditional values, ideal human character. Thirdly, I considered its the limitations. Cheondogyo young men`s association made much of the Joseon` new cultural development besides the study and propagation of Cheondogyo doctrines. Gaebyuk was its very important product. Gaebyuk produced the ideas of cultural movement, and it actively participated in cultural movement. To Gaebyuk, the promotion of education was directly connected the very existence of nation, because the cultivating people of ability was very indispensable to construct the new Joseon. It accepted Western culture positively while it ignored traditional values generally. Its ideal man was the practical human with personaliy who can contribute to public welfare. But I found not a few limitations in Gaebyuk. To sum up, it placed too much confidence in school education, it emphasized spiritual regeneration than social reforms, it undervalued the power of the people, and it neglected almost every Joseon style excessively owing to its sense of elitism. 『개벽』은 천도교청년회에서 간행한 월간 종합잡지로서 1920년대 초반 문화운동을 주도하였다. 천도교청년회는 천도교 교리의 연구·선전은 물론 조선신문화의 발전을 위한 사업을 매우 중시하였으며, 『개벽』은 그러한 집념의 산물이었다. 『개벽』은 문화운동의 이념을 생산·전파하였을 뿐 아니라 이를 구현하기 위한 문화계몽운동에 적극적으로 참여하였다. 이 연구에서는 『개벽』의 교육론을 분석하였다. 『개벽』에 있어서 교육진흥은 민족사활과 직결되는 과제였다. 교육은 인재양성을 위한 방안으로서 새 조선 건설이라는 과제와 직결되었다. 이 연구는 세 부분으로 구성되어 있다. 첫째, 『개벽』의 현실 인식이다. 둘째, 『개벽』이 강조했던 교육론을 교육의 의미, 전통가치 배격, 이상적 인간상이라는 세 측면에서 분석하였다. 셋째, 『개벽』교육론이 갖고 있는 한계에 대해 검토하였다. 『개벽』은 새 조선 건설을 위해 전통가치를 타파하고 서구문화를 폭넓게 수용하는 것을 추진하였다. 『개벽』이 추구한 이상적 인간형은 인격을 갖춘 자주자립형 인간으로서 사회에 공헌할 수 있는 실천적 인간이었다. 그러나 『개벽』은 학교교육을 과신하고, 정신개조를 사회개조보다 중시하고, 엘리트 중심적 사고를 갖고 민중을 무시하고, 조선적인 것을 지나치게 무시하는 등 적지 않은 한계를 갖고 있었다.
