      • Rat의 복강내에 투여한 5-fluorouracil-polyglycolic acid 제형이 장기에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

        For more effective intraperitoneal chemotherapy, the authers made 5-fluorouracil-polyglycolic acid composite disks(FU-PGA disks) with 5-fluorouracil and polyglycolic acid, a biodegradable polymer. We inserted the FU-PGA disk into the peritoneal cavites of Sprague-Dawley male rats, the control and three experimental groups; one FU-PGA disk insert group(300mg/kg), two FU-PGA disk insert group(600mg/kg), and three FU-PGA disk insert group(900mg/kg). The control group received a similar number of PGA disk inserts. A pharmacokinetic study was performed to measure the 5-fluorouracil concentration in the peritoneal fluid, blood, and tissues(liver, kidney and heart) at 24 hours, 72hours and 168 hours after insertion of the FU-PGA disk. Light and electron microscopic studies were done. The results were as follows: 1) The number of white blood cells and platelets decreased after FU-PGA insertion. The degree was proportional to the duration and amounts inserted. The change in the number of red blood cells varied slightly. 2) Light microscopically, slight changes were noted at 168 hours in the 3 disk insert group (900mg/kg). Mild fatty change and hepatocyte degeneration around the central veins of the liver were noted, with vacuolar degeneration in the proximal convoluted tubules of the kidney. 3) Electron microscopically,the liver showed focal increases of lipid droplets in the hepatocytes, and irregular nuclear membrane with focal nucleolar segregation of the fibrillar and granular elements. Also the double membranous structure of the hepatocytes and Kupffer cells was widened with bleb formation. The kidney showed wide separation of the nuclear double membrane in the proximal convoluted tubular cells and mesangial cells, with vacuolation and myelin figure formation in the mitochondria of the proximal convoluted tubular cells, at 72 hours and 168 hours in the 2 to 3 FU-PGA insert groups. The heart showed focal loss of cristae,vacuolation and myelin figure formation in the mitochondria of the 2 to 3 FU-PGA insert groups. In conclusion, despite the large amont of FU-PGA inserted, the histopathological changes in the liver, kidney and heart were slight, and consonant with the very low amount of 5-fluorouracil concentrations detected in the liver, kidney and heart. The above results suggest that the FU-PGA composite can serve as a new device for releasing drugs in a controlled manner and easily targeted to intraperitoneal organs. This device can improve the efficacy of intraperitoneal chemotherapy for gastric cancer.

        Ischemia-Related Changes in Galanin Expression in the Dentate Hilar Region after Transient Forebrain Ischemia in Gerbils

        <P>Although galanin (GAL) protects hippocampal neurons from ischemic damage, no study has examined ischemia-related changes in endogenous GAL in the hippocampal dentate gyrus. We investigated the chronological changes of GAL, well-known as the potassium channel opener, expression in the dentate gyrus at various times after 5 min of transient forebrain ischemia in gerbils. A few GAL-immunoreactive (IR) neurons were found in the polymorphic layer of the sham-operated group. Three hours after ischemia-reperfusion, the pattern of GAL immunoreactivity was similar to that of the sham-operated group and the number of GAL-IR neurons and immunoreactivity were highest 12 h after ischemic insult. At this time, GAL-IR neurons in the polymorphic layer showed strong GAL immunoreactivity. Thereafter, GAL-IR neurons and immunoreactivity significantly decreased in the dentate hilar region. Four days after ischemic insult, GAL-IR neurons were not detectable. In addition, the results of a Western blot study showed a pattern of GAL expression similar to the immunohistochemical changes. GAL protein content also was highest 12 h after ischemia. In conclusion, the increased expression of endogenous GAL in the dentate gyrus after ischemia is related to response to the ischemic damage.</P>

        TRANSIENT ISCHEMIA-INDUCED EXPRESSION AND CHANGES OF TYROSINE KINASE A IN THE HIPPOCAMPAL DENTATE GYRUS OF THE GERBIL

        <P>The present study examined ischemia-related changes in tyrosine kinase A (trkA) immunoreactivity and its protein content in the dentate gyrus after 5 min of transient forebrain ischemia in gerbils. One day after ischemic insult, cresyl violet-positive polymorphic cells showed ischemic degeneration. The ischemia-induced changes in trkA immunoreactivity were found in the polymorphic layer (PL) and granule cell layer (GCL) of the dentate gyrus. In the sham-operated group, trkA immunoreactivity in the dentate gyrus was very weak. From 30 min after ischemia, trkA immunoreactivity was increased in the dentate gyrus and peaked in the dentate gyrus at 12 h after ischemia-reperfusion. Thereafter, trkA immunoreactivity was decreased time-dependently after ischemia-reperfusion. Four days after ischemic insult, trkA immunoreactivity was similar to that of the sham-operated group. In addition, it was found that ischemia-related changes in trkA protein content were similar to the immunohistochemical changes. These results suggest that the chronological changes of trkA in the dentate gyrus after transient forebrain ischemia may be associated with ischemic damage in polymorphic cells of the dentate gyrus.</P>

        The current trend of If (Information Technology) in 21st century demands management innovation, that is Business Process Reengineering (BPR) in all the industry including construction project. The solution of its demand is proposed by IT based on Internet. And also, in order to meet this objective, from 1997 domestic construction industry is accelerating to systematize CALS (Continuous Acquisition and Life-cycle Support) which is being planned to apply by government. These efforts give much weight to build computer systems rather than to improve and redesign construction business process that is more important for system application. This research develops a model for applying the BPR to construction industry, especially construction site that is a base to build a system for CALS. And the research suggests performing method, process and modeling technique of BPR to be applicable in business process redesign of construction field. Also, focusing on the research of execution step of business in construction site will be helpful for the site worker to perform BPR in construction site.

        In myotonic dystrophy(MD), a characteristic myopathy is accompanied by abnormalities of other systems, including the brain. The pathogenesis of MD has not been clearly explained. Sometimes white matter lesion was noted on brain MRI, but its causative roles and association with intellectual impairment in MD was not clea yet. We report a case of myotonic dystrophy with intellectual impairment and temporal white matter lesions.

        저자들은 만성알콜중독의 원인으로 음주자의 성격, 사회요인 등 여러가지 문제들이 게재되어 있지만 유전적 요인도 중요하리라고 생각되어 만성알콜중독자로 진단되어 국립부곡정신병원에 입원가료 중인 환자 30명을 대상으로 ADH2의 다형현상(polymorphism)을 조사하여 알콜중독자가 아닌 건강한 한국인의 유전자형과 비교한 결과 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 만성알콜중독자 30명 중 ADH2-1/ADH2-1 형을 갖는 사람이 27명이었으며 ADH2-1/ADH2-2를 갖는 사람이 3명이었다. ADH2¹의 gene frequencies는 0.68이었으며 ADH²의 gene frequencies는 0.32로서 정상 한국인과 비교하여 유의한 차이가 없었다. This study was performed to know the gene polymorphism of alcoholic dehydrogenase(ADH)-2 in 30 Korean alcohol addicted patients who were admitted at Bugok National Mental Hospital. The results were as follows ADH2-1/ADH2-1 type among 30 alcohol addicts were 27 and ADH2-1/ADH2-2 type were 3. Gene frequencies of ADH2-1 were 0.68 and gene frequencies of ADH2-2 were 0.32 These results were not different from the gene polymorphism of ADH2 in non-alcoholic Korean healthy adults.

        This study was conducted for national participants in leisure sports convention events, the strong opinion leaders in the leisure sports tourism market. They have specialized and high-level of insights into the leisure sports tourism market. and it could give very meaningful suggestions to identify the effect of Taekwondo park selection criterion on their potential revisit. The results of this study were found as follows: It was found that the male group thought more importantly of the economic efficiency and ease of access than the female counterparts in terms of the criterion for selection of the Taekwondo park. Second, it was found that the ground of high school graduates thought importantly of beautiful natural environment and scenery, while the well-educated group of college graduate school and more than graduate school thought importantly of the culture and history of Taekwondo and economic efficiency of development. Third, it was found that the age group of 21-30 years old attached more importance to the cultural and historical background of Taekwondon, its growability into world-class tourist attraction, economic efficiency of development than the age group of less than 20 years old. Fifth, it was found that such Taekwondo park selection criteria as the cultural and historical background of Taekwondo(differentiated history, native culture), its growability into world-class tourist attraction(specified image and high name recognition, economic efficiency of development(developable image, tourism industry infrastructure), ease of access(convenience of access to the traffic network from home and abroad, full local transportation(road, parking lots and the like) had a significant effect on the potential intention to revisit). The Korean Taekwondo park should highlight the phase of the country of its origin and grow into the world-class attraction for traditional martial arts. Only the region that can maximize the direct and indirect history and culture related to Taekwond can maximize the consumption value needs of quality tourists at home and abroad and globalize the prestigious and hihg-profile traditional Korean culture.

      • Streptozotocin으로 유발된 당뇨병쥐의 신경전도속도에 대한 Evening primrose oil (EPO), Vit.C, Vit.E의 약물효과

        The effects of evening primrose oil (EPO). Vit.C and Vit.E on nerve conduction velocity (NCV) in streptozotocin -induced diabetic rats were investigated. 5 weeks- diabetes caused 27±0.5 % reduction in sciatic motor conduction velocity as compared with normal control. Dietary supplement of 5% EPO. 125mg/kg Vit.C. and lg/kg Vit.E prevented significantly the development of the motor nerve conduction velocity deficit about 21±0.5, 21±0.5, 26±0.5% respectively. The total serum cholesterol and triglyceride were decreased by administration 5% EPO. Vit.C, and Vit.E as compared with diabetic control. However, the serum glucose was not decreased by administration 5% EPO. 125mg/kg Vit.C but the serum glucose was decreased by administration lg/kg Vit.E as compared with diabetic control.

      • 토목공사 정보관리를 위한 Uniclass 시스템의 활용성 분석

        A standardized construction information classification system is essential for organizing construction CALS and CM. In 1997, Uniclass system was developed for superseding CI/SfB system that was being used as a representative WBS. Uniclass system is organized on the basis of ISO frame and consists of tables for classifying information related to construction management and electronic commerce. This study was implemented for the analysis of applicability of Uniclass system, comparing with CI/SfB system, as a WBS for the construction CALS. This study suggests a alternative table of Uniclass to improve applicability in practical use. Uniclass system was analyzed as the best classification system for the civil engineering project among the existing systems, howewer, the classified items for CM and construction CALS need to be modified with more detailed items.

      • 백서의 복강내에 투여한 Mitomycin-C-Polyglycolic acid 제형이 장기에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

        To evaluate the in-vivo effects of mitomycin-C-polyglycolic acid composite(MMC-PGA) the disk: shaped composite were implanted into the peritoneal cavity of the Sprague-Dawley rats. The pathologic changes were examined at various time points up to 12 weeks. Initially the soft tissue around the inserted disks showed capillary congestion at 3 days. Inflammatory infiltrates with foreign body giant cells appeared from the 2nd week and reached peak response at 6-8 weeks. These reaction diminished prominently at 12 weeks. No specific pathologic change was found in the liver, the kidneys, and the heart. The above results suggest that the MMC-PGA composite can serve as a new device for intraperitoneal chemotherapy of various types of cancers.
