The status of artificial insemination was surveyed by investigating 20796 heads of adult dairy cattle out of 30464 heads at 1649 dairy farms located Seoul and Gyung-Gi and Chung-Cheong province area, and the results are as follows: 1. There were 286 small farms feeding less than 5 heads occupying 17.3% of total farm number, and 1083 medium sized dairy farms feeding between $6{\sim}20$ heads occupying 65.64% and also 280 large dairy farms feeding more than 21 heads occupying 17.06% of total. 2. Population of cow aging from 2 to 6 years were 87.26% and among 20907 heads of dairy cattles which had calved previously 13196 heads had histories of one to four calving 90.40%. 3. The successful conception rate with first A. I. occupied only 53.43% and 92.4% after third A. I. service. The average A. I. frequency for successful conception per/head was 1.8 times. 4. The breeding status was pregnancy 61.72%, uncertain pregnancy 19.39%, and as physiological vacancy 12.48% and reproductive disorders 10.62%. 5. Among 1264 heads of reproductive disorders 856 heads were clue to ovarian diseases and occupied 68.98% of total disorders and uterus diseases 10.64% and repeat breeders occupied 17.64%.

The purpose of the current study was to investigate the relationship between serious leisure and the degree of leisure activities (leisure time, leisure expense, duration, intensity and frequency of participation). A total of 286 college tennis clubs members participated in this study. The collected data was analysis by using frequency analysis, cross-tab analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The compounded result was divided into three separate groups according to the level of seriousness. Base on the results, the mid-level group of seriousness consumed more leisure expense, while the high level group of seriousness showed higher level of duration and frequency of participation in leisure activities. Using the regression analysis model, duration and frequency had significant influence on serious leisure activities. With the collected data, we can discuss the relationship between serious leisure and the degree of participation in leisure activities.

This experiment was carried out to develop an ideal diluter for the preservation of liquic boar semen. In the second report, an excellent diluter was selected out of 10 diluters previously reported by other workers in and out of the country. The excellent diluent was set up as a control in this experiment. This experiment was systematically conducted to find more effective levels of dextrose, sodium citrate, potassium tartrate, egg yolk, E.D.T.A. and storage-temperature. Only sperm-rich part of the semen collected from 3 Landrace-boars was used. Semen eras diluted at the ratio of 1 to 3 and preserved at 0-5℃, 8-10℃ and 15℃, respectively. During the preservation-period, sperm motility and vitality were examined 6 times every 24 hours for 120 hours. The results were as follows: 1. The new excellent diluter was composed of dextrose … 3.5% sodium citrate … 0-0.29% potassium sodium tartrate … 0.02% egg yolk … 2-4% E.D.T.A.… 0.1-0.2% penicillin … 1000 IU/㎖ streptomycin … 0.1g/100㎖ Sperm motilities of the new diluter for 6 days were 73%, 70%, 60%, 60% and 53%, respectively. And those of the control were 72%, 65%, 55%, 17% and 0%. In sperm motility, significant difference was statistically recognized between the new diluter and the control(p$lt;0.01). 2. It was concluded that remarkable increase in sperm motility could be induced by using diluents added with E.D.T.A. at rate of 0.1 to 0.2%. 3. The optimum temperature for preservation was 8 to 15℃.

Ten excellent diluters previously reported by other workers in and out of the country were selected for the test. Diluted semen at the ratio of 1 to 3 were preserved at 0-5℃ and 15℃ respectively. During the preservation-period, sperm motility and livability were examined 6 times every 24 hours for 120 hours. The results were as follow: 1. The excellent diluter was composed of glucose … 1.5g fructose … 1.5g tris. … 3.028g citric acid … 1.74g glycine … 0.047g catalase … 0.02㎖ egg yolk … 20% distilled water … 100㎖ 2. Sperm motility of this diluter for 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4 days were 72%, 63%, 58%, 53%, 17% and 0%, respectively. 3. Preservative temperature at 15℃ was better than 0-5℃.
