      • 한국 정당사 연구의 현황과 쟁점, 그리고 향후 과제

        이 연구는 한국 정당사 연구를 활성화시키기 위한 시론적(試論的) 연구로서 한국의 주요 학술지에 게재된 논문들을 중심으로 한국 정당사 연구의 현황과 쟁점, 그리고 제반 문제점을 파악하고, 연구 활성화를 위한 향후 과제와 기본 방향을 제시하는데 주요 목적이 있다. 연구 결과, 한국 정당사 연구는 한국의 정치과정이나 정당정치 연구에 있어서 기본 토대와 학문적 정체성을 제공하는 중요한 학문적 가치가 있음에도 불구하고, 초기 연구에 비해 후속적 연구의 연계성이 크게 부족한 것으로 밝혀졌다. 특히 그 동안 한국 정당사 연구는 아직도 연구 논의 자체가 양적으로 부족하고, 학자와 전문가들의 관심도 크게 미진하다. 따라서 한국 정당사 연구가 보다 활성화되기 위해서는 연구의 양적 증대와 더불어 연구 영역의 세분화 및 접근방법의 다양화, 연구방법론의 개발, 정당사 자료 축적, 그리고 한국 정당사 연구에 대한 인식과 태도의 전환 등이 필요하다.

      • Application of heparinized superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticle

        Cellular imaging is used for successful cell therapy because the fate of the injected cell can be tracked and visualized. Among various imaging tools, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is favorably used due to its higher resolution through MR contrast agents. On the other hand, the injected cells can induce the nonspecific inflammation due to the activation of platelets in the bloodstream. Here, we developed the bi-functional MR contrast agent for cell imaging and for inhibiting the inflammation. To this end, we newly developed heparinized SPIO nanoparticles with higher magnetic moment. For cell labeling, the heparinized SPIO nanoparticles were chemically conjugated onto cell surface. This chemical modification using heparinized SPIO nanoparticles did not affect the viability and function of the cells. Also, the modified cells could be well visualized using MRI in vitro and in vivo. In addition, the heparinized SPIO nanoparticles could inhibit the activation of platelets, thereby attenuating the inflammation in the bloodstream. Therefore, it could enhance the viability and function of the cells in the body. Collectively, we developed highly efficient heparinized SPIO nanoparticles.

        태국의 군부쿠데타와 민주주의로의 여정 : 2006년 군부쿠데타 이후를 중심으로

        This study is to examine political change of Thailand in the process of democratic transition and consolidation after democratization, and to investigate the problems and political implications before and after the 2006 military coup. Actually, all countries experienced the process of democratic transition and consolidation after democratization dose not automatically maintain and institutionalize the democratic regime. Thailand seems to be successful to consolidate democracy when the prime minister Thaksin and Thai Rak Thai party government continuously took the political power in the 2001 and 2005 election through the 1997 constitution, which was established by national agreement and consensus. However, the 1997 constitution was interrupted by the 2006 military coup, and democracy was reversed to political crisis. This situation was result that the principle of ‘check and balance’ between each political party did not worked in the process of democratic transition and consolidation. The tug of war between anti-Thaksin force and Thaksin support force brought about political unstability and social disorder, and Thailand faced political crisis, which was called reverse of democracy. In conclusion, for stable consolidation of democratic regime after democratization, it needs substantive democracy that each political actor makes up national agreement and consensus and balances power by check and balance beyond institutional and procedural democracy.

        정통성 위기와 정치변동 : 인도네시아 사례를 중심으로

        The purpose of this study is to propose a new approach to analyze political change, and to review the process of political change in current Indonesia. Especially, this study introduces the concept of 'legitimacy' for investigating various factors to form the political power and reviews dynamic process of Indonesian political change, which is caused by legitimacy crisis. According to the result of this study, political change of indonesia since 1997 is not a linear process that political crisis is caused by economic crisis in 1997, but multi-lateral dynamic process that political change is influenced by the relations and changes of various legitimacy' factors: political, economic, Social, and cultural factors etc. Suharto's New Order System has fallen down by multi-lateral legitimacy crisis. And current Indonesia is undergoing the new period to establish new legitimacy of political power.

        복합지수를 활용한 1기 신도시 활성화 정도 비교 연구

        The most of previous studies about the 1st New Towns focused on the aging of the physical areas, and were the lack of approach from urban perspective, especially non-physical viewpoint. Therefore, in this study, regional activity in the 1st New Towns is analyzed from the demographic-social and industrial-economic viewpoint, which is a non-physical area of city by using the composite index. As a result of analyzing the regional activity of the 1st new town from 2004 to 2014, the demographic-social activity was decreased in all the new towns. Industrial-economic activity has been improved or maintained to the contrary to the result of analysis of the demographicsocial activity. However, the rate of change indices indicating the possibility of maintaining or improving the vitality of most new towns tend to be getting lower than that of the mother city in the demographic-social and industrialeconomic sectors. Therefore, the regional activity of the new towns can be reduced at a more rapid rate than that of the mother city in the near future. Also it was confirmed that there is a difference in detailed change patterns in each new town. Therefore, it is necessary to establish regional revitalization policy differentiated for each new town rather than uniformized policy. In particular, it is necessary to develop differentiated new town management policies for the improvement of demographic vitality in Bundang, Ilsan and economic vitality in Pyeongchon. This study provides criteria for observing regional activity levels in the new towns in urban perspective, and have academic significance in recognizing the need to prepare for decline and establish a management system of the new towns.

        Optimization of Pancreatic Islet Spheroid Using Various Concave Patterned-Films

        In the pancreatic islet transplantation for curing diabetes mellitus, reaggregation of pancreatic islet single cells for making ‘islet spheroid’ is considered as a useful strategy in terms of islet viability and gene delivery into islet. However, during aggregation of islet spheroid, their insulin secretion pattern was not recovered to that of intact islets. We have developed a new cell-culture system using poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS)-based concave-patterned film for aggregating islet spheroid. Here we optimized the effective formation of islets spheroid by using the concave-patterned film with different microwell diameter (300, 500, and 700-μm). Aggregated islet spheroids in different concave microwells showed same morphology with a limited size range and diameter dependency of microwell,which was similar to that of intact islet. However, islet spheroid in flat-bottomed dish (control) showed random aggregation with broad size distribution. Interestingly, insulin secretion pattern of islet spheroids in 300 and 500-μm concave patterned-film was same to that of intact islets, which was caused by the improved cell-to-cell interaction that was confirmed by electron microscope and strong phalloidin immunostain. However, islet spheroids in concave patterned-film with 700-μm diameter and flat-dish did not show normal insulin secretion in accordance with different glucose concentration, which might be caused by weak cell-to-cell interaction. On the other hand, the viability of islet spheroids in concave patterned-film was not affected during cultivation due to biocompatibility of PDMS polymer. Collectively, we demonstrated that PDMS-based concave-patterned film could be used for designing islet spheroids with improved cellular functionality and size uniformity to cure diabetes mellitus.
